Whoa, Japan has manifested itself into an entity on the internet. That is... awesome.

    I'll interpret that as "welcome."

So I was at that German avatar site, and I found it somewhat amusing to see how they changed some of the names of episodes.

Most were kept the same like The guru (der guru) The boy in the iceberg (Der Junge im Eisberg) The Earth King (Der Erdk??nig) ect.

But like Appa's Lost Days is changed to "Poor Appa", Jet is made into "Jet, the rebel" Imprisoned is "In Captivity!" The Waterbending scroll is just "The scroll".

But what made most me happy was lufttemple. (air temple) cause luft is like the best word ever.

Heh "Luft" is also used in Sweden and yes it means "Air". In fact there is alot of similarities between swedish and german, I don't speak german though so i don't know how similar it is, a few words here and there I guess....

I'm german and I watched book 1 and 2 in german and book 1 - 3 in english. I think they did a quite good job with the german voices. Katara sounds even more motherly :-) Maybe Aang's and Toph's voices are too childish andZuko's voice is not filled with enough bitternes, but they're still good. It's funny how they changed some of the episode names. Like "The great divide" becomes "Grabenk??mpfe" which means something like "trench fights", "The Deserter" becomes "The power of Fire" and "The Northern Air Temple" becomes "Air Acrobats" which is quite stupid I think. I wonder why they do this. A full list of the german episode names can be viewed here: http://avatar.acc.de/Avatar-Wiki/index.php/Folgen_anschauen

Altogether I like the english version better. It's always better to watch shows in original to get the real feeling and what the creators really wanted to say. Some jokes don't work in other languages, like when Sokka said in "In the Library" that the Spirit had attractive assisants because the Professor described them as "foxy".

did you notice the scene with Aang and the penguin at the end?
I think they gave him the most childish voice possible

    this will be interesting
Because you know there is kinda a war between the ones who say ATLA is anime and those who say it is not.
And in Japan they call anime anything animated
So they would actually call it anime even if it's made in the us.

I think I could live with aangs voice in trade for their announcer's voice.

Why would anyone want to do that? At least one of the voices is going to be annoyingly squeaky (at least to us), I don't want to hear that!

German not so much. I've never really studied it so I only watched that clip out of curiosity. I understood single words and recognized some grammar. But yes, English (native language; American), French (I was in an immersion program in elementary and middle school), and Japanese (I began studying it because I was bored with French when I got to high school and the other romance languages (Spanish, Portugese, Italian) seemed to similar to me.)
This people is an example of a "show off" (and that is a kind word for it), who came here simply to show off thier talents or skills, showing off it not always bad say if you do it IRL but showing off on the internet is a sign of lacking any respect or appreciation IRL and being a very pathetic losum creature. To make things worse this person is likely a weeaboo and is hilariously attempting to assimliate japanese culture, this is ironically funny because japan is a hot bed of racist, xenophobia and has no laws forbiding discrimination against race or nationality. Enjoy your Gaijin-hood.

    whats IRL?

I take offense to that... no its ok, I'd rather have him say "Wait we can't stop here, this is bat country!"
