Wow, you really should watch the end of the finaly again rofl Guess you haven't payed enough attention?

how is that symbolic? it's more ironic. and she was never really in control.

how was she not in control in CoD? She was completely in control of the Dai Li and of the earth kingdom.

No. She was always a product of her enviorment. From being raised under that much pressure gave her some sort of accute paranoia disorder not to mention a disassociation with fear and trust.

I didn't care much for her in the series. She was a stuck up, spoiled, power hungry b****. But when saw her break down into tears when she was defeated I kinda felt sorry for her and said to myself "awwe all she needs is a hug and someone to love her."

Hopefully someone will help her out.

but her complete lack of human emotions made her such a great character. She was dark part of Zuko.

The adage that you reap what you sow comes to mind when I think of Azula's fate. However, I felt pity for Azula. I did not see her as the self-proclaimed monster. No, I saw her as Ursa saw here; a confused woman who was hurt and probably suffered from hormonal imbalances.

hormonal imabalence? try accute paranoia and an extreme disassociation between fear and trust. lol a hormonal imbalence is not to blame nor what she had.

I would also postulate that she suffered from chronic PMS.

I felt terrible for azula...I mean being pressured by her father to be perfect really screwed her up mentally, but I guess her mental break down was unavoidable in order for her to realize what she was doing wrong in her life. I really wished they had showed what had happended to her in the finale.

I just don't think she grew up with that pressure, she pushed it upon herself, from striving to be the best and to beat Zuko. She knows what she is doing, even from when she was young. For example, she picked Ty Lee and Mai as friends because they had abilities she didn't know, and was able to learn from them.(Bryke commentary on DoBS) She always had everything in control and everything planned out. (until she learned that fear can't control everyone forever, which is what she had used her whole life to achieve her power and ferocity, thus causing her to crack)

But where else would she get this extreme self-motivation at such a young age other than her father. Her father (although it wasn't discussed or shown) was most likely the cause of her inablity to associate with people, and all the pressure put upon her. I say her father especially because they had identical character traits.
