Really? I would imagine any mother would feel that way, not just a conservative one. What mother wants her kid exposed to a show with romance involving a 40 year old man and a teenage thats Y7? I dunno, I could be wrong, but its not just conservatives that feel that way......

BTW, that (Zhao/Azula) is about as sick as Zhao/Ozai. *shudders*

LOL, you're right. And when you're right, you're right.

    Right.

There is no way that could possibly be tolerated anyway, even as subtext.
    But well, 'Ship Happens'

That would explain why Zhoa is always getting promoted.....*Sudders*

    Yes it would *shudders*
    creepy idea*shudders*

    *shivers at the thought*

no offense but I've noticed a lot ppl misspell Zhao's name. I too tend to type it as "Zhoa". lol

Yea sometimes that happens to me to. But its "Z-h-a-o". Spell it with me Z H A O. Good. Now say it three times, run around in a circle and pour a pitcher of ice cold water on your head.

We don't know who Mommy was. My friend has this crazy idea Ozai did her in. My theory...

The Firenation sorta resembles Japanese culture so maybe shes alive but one of those meek never speaks out against her husband types. Like in Mulan.

Hmmmm....interesting theory.....maybe in Zuko Alone, episode 7 of the 2nd season, we'll get to see her, since we get to see more of Zuko's past, only when he's a lot younger....

i agree but i she did die in childbirth then Azula is Zuko's half sister which would give evidence to why she hates him so much seeing as he was the only born of the 1st marriage i believe that makes him completely entitled to the throne, it also would show why Ozai hates him, because of Zuko the love of his life died...but hey thats just my theory...

I can't wait for Zuko Alone!! it sounds like an awesome episode

wow...some really good points, specially with the "gifts" thing. I never thought of that...

anyways, about the age difference. I'm pretty sure long ago, age wasn't a factor in marriage...since woman didn't have a say. But I guess that's not how it works in avatar...and Azula and Zhao IS pretty gross. oh god, nightmares. but it would be interesting...two perversed noble/royal.

still *nightmare* no, please don't attack me hopping sheep. one sheep, two sheep..noooo

I really can't see nick putting that pairing on...I can't see them putting any pairings with major stuff at all. But who cares, I don't watch avatar for shipping, I watch it for the goodness of bending and avatarish...still, it makes you wonder. Somehow, I have a hunch avatar writers are willing to defy the traditional 'goody two shoe' plots. avatar shocked me with the 'floosie' part. Hopefully theres more of that...avatar writers haven't failed me yet...

Yeah, Avatar is really pushing the limits. Gyatso's skeleton, talk of spirits (some Religious people would be against that), the fact that a ten-year-old said "floozie." *giggle giggle* *ahem* Who knows?

Anyone who can critisize a show, especially a cartoon, for having references to things they don't like or believe in(i.e. reincarnation) really needs a life. Same thing goes for saying Spongebob is g@y. I mean seriously, he is a character in a Y-7 rated cartoon on the Nickelodeon network for God sakes! I h8e politics and will never degrade myself to such a level of lying and ideology to get others to elect me for an office. We really should have taken GW's advice and not gone with the two-party system.

Well that's a topic for another place I assume. Back to Avatar. So who else thinks Jeong Jeong is the best male guest star to appear in an episode so far? He's way better than Haru, Jet, even Zhao or "the calm man" from the fortuneteller, even better than Foamy and the cabbage guy. He may come off as a bit crazy, but he knows how to firebend and is pretty darn smart.

    Yeah!! ^_^*

Anyway, as far as Azula goes, I think I'm going to hold off judgement until we get to see her in action. As far as her voice goes I kinda see something quiet and menacing, I'm not sure why but just a hint of nasal, like when she grows up she's have an EXTREMELY annoying evil laugh. *the laugh from Slayers pops into mind, not sure if anyone knows what I'm talking about, its been years since I've seen it*

Well anyway I'm still looking forward to her apperance, I doubt she'll be a fav char, but gotta give the evil some luv too. Without quality villians, a show just can't really be that good. coughTeamRocketcough ^_^*

Someone may have said this before, and I know it's already decided,
but...as one of my friends stated:

"They needed a character to portray as simply evil, I suppose, and chose [A]Zula for the task. I just can't believe that anyone is 100% evil."

and hearing that makes me think.
I wonder how they're going to pull it off without being too black and white on the matter.

I think that Azula's voice should be like one of those older-than-she-really-is-and-kinda-creepy-in-that-kind-of-way kinda voice.....

Azula, or Zula, or however they've named her does sound quite intriguing. I love the evil/ bad /angsty ones, they always seem the most interesting in whatever they're being displayed in. I don't like the little "sister hates big brother" idea though, maybe because i've always wanted one of my own (but unfortunately I was the oldest...)so I hold on to my hope that possibly she will realize Ozai is the one to be hated, and she will become less of an evil witch near the end...all i know is if she or Zuko dies i'm gonna cry! Of course, this is only if I like her character. If she has an annoying voice actress, by all means, let her die! lol. Anyways, does anyone know where i can get info on this? future seasons, characters, etc? I'd be most greatful and possibly love you forever if someone would be so kind as to provide me with a helpful link ^_~

Here's the comic-con link (*SPOILER WARNING!!*)
    http://www.asmzine.com/features/conventions/sdcc05/

About (A)zula's voice, I think it should be kind of mature. I can't see her as the typical "bratty little sister," but more like the "Napoleon Complex" kind of little sister who basically demands respect. So I'm thinking a kind of mature voice, nothing shrill or annoying. Because having a high-pitched voice and evil just don't seem to mix well.
