The Avatar and The Firelord is the only I can personally recommend. The sheer storyline of it and the drama between Sozin and Roku will certainly jump out.

I hook most of my friends on The Blind Bandit. Works every time!

TO those who said Zuko Alone, I think people appreciate it more if they've seen the whole series...

    DON'T START WITH ZUKO ALONE!!!!

As awesome of an episode as that is, it's pointless if you haven't been introduced to Zuko and seen the differences in his character yet.

Show him the first season finale, Bato of the Water Tribe, and then The Blue Spirit. Yes, in that order. I know it's more than one or two, but promise him that you'll wear something "comfortable" while he's watching them.

    Zuko Alone

    and

    The Blind Bandit.

My training course for new recruits consists of Return to Omashu, The Blind Bandit, Zuko Alone, The Drill, and Lake Laogai. If he agrees to watch more, pick from those. They rock.

I agree with Daveshan. You need a previous knowledge of Zuko's character to truly appreciate it.

C'mon, Blind Bandit! I get EVERYONE hooked on that episode!

And I don't see what everyone has against the Great Divide. Yes, it's wierd, but it's still Avatar, and I still love it ^^

Go for The Blind Bandit. That was one of the first episodes I saw when I wanted to see more of Avatar, and I fricken' loved it. I watched it like 3 times that day. We all know and love our Toph origin story.

I agree "The Blind Bandit" would be a good one. Otherwise maybe "The Chase".

I agree with what some others have said against showing "Zuko Alone." While it's definitely one of the best episodes, you need to have seen more of the show to understand and appreciate Zuko's character arc. Here's what I would recommend:

    Season 1: "The Storm"

    Season 2: "The Avatar State"

Season 3: "The Avatar and The Firelord"

I chose these because I think they're the easiest for someone new to the story to understand. But if you want to show your boyfriend something with a bit more action, then I'd recommend "The Waterbending Master" from Season 1(which should hopefully get him interested enough to watch the two season finale episodes that follow, like you mentioned). Also "The Blind Bandit" from Season 2, as others have recommended(along with "The Chase.").

It's great to hear that you're trying to get your boyfriend hooked on Avatar.
