Okay... To get back on topic (lol), I'm quite interested in seeing if Mai and Ty Lee's betrayal does indeed affect Azula at all. By the way.... After watching The Avatar Day, I noticed this: He's using the same "rocket booster" thing Azula used in The Drill. This shows that Azula isn't the only one with "jets" and could also mean that others have learned to propel themselves like Azula. I'm not sure if it has been brought up before but, oh well. :p

If Azula made that face while doing her rockets, her lulz factor would outweigh her hotness, and the universe would implode.

But that's cool; now we know that Azula didn't make that move up.

My best bet is that the jet thing is probably quite common practise for firebenders, but not to the extent of which Azula can do it due to the increased intensity of her firebending.

Yeah, since her fire is blue, it's hotter than the regular FireBenders' fire so it probably has more force. That's probably completely wrong. *hides from science nerds*

Well since you asked so nicely...

    *ahem*
Blue fire is hotter than red fire, but you're wrong in assuming it has more force as a result. But you're not the only one who's wrong, the entire show is wrong. fire has no physical presence, it technically shouldn't be able to knock things over. Fire is just energy.

If that is the only thing about this show that you think is inconsistent with reality, you are not very observent. :p

    *switches on science nerd setting*

I do believe, though, that if you have an extremely dense ball of fire or plasma of very high energy, at some point the sheer amount of energy will begin to result in mass. Of course, the amount of energy any firebender would need to actually do concussive force to something would be around 10 trillion+ or so joules I believe. Probably wrong but it's definitely up there. :p As for the boosters thing, it has to do with recoil velocity and the law of momentum conservation. The *my mind is foggy right now, so bear with me* flame shooting out of their extremities though must have mass for that to apply in a motion opposite that of the flames. If Azula's weight in armor is around... what, 130 lbs(?), I THEEK she'd need to be pumping out about more than 130 lbs. of force. That would account for around 4-4.5 slugs (going with english system for this) of mass if you converted all the energy being "created" to matter. Now, I am not a quantum physicist not do I have a completely full knowledge of physics. I am, though, taking physics in highschool and am an avid reader of the subject. My methods of calculation are probably incorrect to a certain level of precision but I the concepts I used shouldn't be too far off from the "real thing".

I never said that was the only thing. The show also seems to take great pleasure in mocking the laws of physics by consistently breaking them.

Whaaaaaaat? I wouldn't say the show mocks the laws of physics. Things need to be bent and warped to create certain affects and "visuals". Take Star Wars for example. If lightsabers didn't have enough energy to slice through metal like swiss cheese, would it be as interesting? Come on, lighten up Tomtitan. I'm a diehard science aficionado but even I know how to take pleasure in seeing the laws of physics broken. :] Sometimes you have to accept certain things within the genre wether it coincides with phenomenon in real life or not. ;]

after reviewing everything (then asking my uni physics professor uncle) it is possible for fire to have a physical existence powerful enough to break through soil, rock, earth and even stone, (Crystal's crack, shatter or explode, only a few melt), but the fire (or rather the heat) needs to be focused in the correct way on the object to do so, the smaller and more focused the fire the better the result.
