that's only because the heat from the fire causes things to combust and diffuse away, or break because it expands too quickly. it's not because the flame actually has enough mass to move anything

But that's exactly it. It's combustion. We know that fire-bending is combustion because when Zuko was trying to shoot lightning it exploded in his face and knocked him over. So if it could knock him over surely One could use it to propel themselves short distances through the air.
Then some might say. Then why don't people always move when they fire-bend? Answer: That relates back to the concept of control in fire-bending and probably something about breathing. As a fire-bender you can make the flame (and therefore the combustion of it) do what you want to do, so advanced fire-benders can do this trick and we haven't seen it used excessively.

You know, if you think about it, if the fire were hot enough, it would super-heat the air and create a vacuum-like effect that has so much pressure behind it that it would knock something over.

idk but the creators of avatar have loosened up a bit during the seasons. they've become more creative and silly and alot more PDA. they just get better and better!

or maybe its just because ive watched all 3 seasons in like 3 nights..

In three nights? Wow. I watched a little bit of S1 yesterday. But I can't seem to watch the show in order; I jump around a lot.

But I sort of agree on Bryke getting more creative. In S1, you could see them trying to get a feeling for the show. The shows just keeps getting better, which is why I get sad when people bash the finale. No, I'm not spoiling, I'm just saying that people need to be more realistic, and look at through the writer's point of view, who probably look at it in a character's point of view. Each episode, I'm more and more amazed, and I realize more and more why I love Bryke so much.

And I heard PDA! PDA! Sorry.. That was a joke at my high school to shout that at people who were holding hands, or hugging or something. PDA (Public Display of Affection)

To be fair, PDA was actually not really allowed at my school (I went to a Catholic school) and the students were making fun of that rule.

El gasp! You cheated? But S1 is good, maybe not all of the episodes, but most of them are good.

And Richard? I could never hate him.. I don't think Haru will be too happy that you said that about his husband. Is Song going to have to hit you with a frying pan, just like she did to Ta Min when she was being a gold-digger? Hm?

Seriously, what ever did happen to Aang's glider since The Firebending Masters? It might be lost forever in that green glue.
