But she(Katara) didn't do anything like what was happening to Aang and Sokka, she just sorta sat her down. Which is what Hana(I thought I heard Hama but whatever) pretty much did to the rats at first. She wasn't tossing her around, she was just pulling her down. I also thought throughout the fight that maybe Yue was taking Katara's side, which could totally change the outcome, potentially.

That's probably it, Sokka did mention Yue earlier in the episode.

That was my first thought when I saw Katara get up with ease. I got all excited, because I really miss Yue.

    Yue + Sokka forever!

oh yeah i miss yue...hehehe tophs comet about the moon spirit and sokkas reaction hehehe

Yeah. I'm glad he still like Yue. And I'm sure Yue still likes him.

    Suki adds good drama. =)

    ..So does Toph.

    ...And Ty Lee.

    He's such a lady killer!

hehehe yeah ....hehehe poor yue his ladykilling is kinda literal
lol , That is just wrong making fun of poor Sokka, who always gets the worse of everything, even as a cookie.

Seriously, his luck is so bad, on the phone yesterday, my mom (I'm paraphrasing); "Aang Katara Appa Toph... what's Katara's brother's name?" Again, getting the worst of everything. I thought of another new bloodbending power. Bend all of the human blood out through the opponent's mouth, causing the opponent to wither and die.

    I was wondering that too.

She just sort of sidestepped her way out of the prison.

Perhaps they were dead but of course Nick wouldn't let that be known flat out, she also looked like she sort of limped out.

Edit: She also says "They were all wiped out" before the flashback begins.

Now we know what move Katara wants to unlearn. If there was a very advanced evil waterbender, he/she could use his blood to shape-shift (Make cuts on his back and grow wings or something), but this is a kids show, so there are low chances of that unless they changed the rating to PG

I think your giving the ability more credit than it deserves, doing something like making wings out of blood would drain his own blood supply and kill him. and who knows if they can actually rip the blood out of a living body like they do with plants...

besides, its clearly a high-end master level ability that can also only be used with the power boost from the full moon.

One things that concerns me though *spoiler alert*

Hana said it herself that it took her years to master the technique, but here we see Katara performing it moments after learning of its very existence. At least when she became a master in between Waterbending Master and Seige of teh North we had the sastisfaction of knowing there was indeed a time skip between the episodes. In this case though she hears about the technique, and can instantly preform it on its very master. thats a little much I think.

i think that she cud do it cause her friends were in trouble

Please change it, I'm gonna have to leave this forum for a month if people keep being so inconsiderate to the non-spoiler-loving fans...

If you're back in the thread reading this, don't worry. I knew from the moment I heard of the episode's name what was gonna happen, and I especially knew it when the DVD vol 2 summary came out. That didn't stop me from enjoying the episode IMMENSELY. Like, zomg, still. Seeing it played out is yummy.

good points raised here. i think yue may have been helping katara there, after sokka's comment earlier on, but the reason she did bloodbending so well was, as she said herself, '[her] bending is stronger than yours', she's just a better bender, and the fact that she's about 60 years younger helps too.

also, don't forget bloodbending isn't the only technique she learned, she can kill plants with the wave of her arm, then use the water in them to attack. and she finally learned moisturebending, i've been waiting for katara to pull water out of thin air for ages now.

but most importantly, who else thinks bloobending is the coolest name?

it was easy for her because she already learned to do it from the sweat of her body

Davy Jones might be the one to ask for that one.

ANYWAY I had a dream about bloodbending last night. Wasn't a nightmare, but it sure was creepy!! I've got this thing for dreaming about the sorts of things that not only could you not do in the real world, but you've got a description of it and somehow want to experience yourself. Like, I've dreamed about flying on a broomstick, being an owl, being a bender (especially liked that one) and being able to make yourself intangible Danny Phantom-like. But being bloodbended unlike all those things is NOT fun. Although it is kinda cool.

I'll bet ya anything that Katara could rip blood out of people to get the water, just like Magneto pulls that guys blood out of his body to get the Iron in his blood in X-Men 2.
