Okay everyone I was just trying to think of the most powerful benders of each respective nation and I got a few ideas, feel free to give input, I welcome it greatly!

Air - Aang ( Kind of by default though I guess!)

Water - Master Pakku (Katara is good, very good, by Pakku has got about 4 to 5 decades on her)

Earth - King Bumi ( I guess Toph is a possibility, but Bumi is over 100 years old...come on!)

Fire - General Iroh ( I could see a case being made for Fire Lord Ozai, maybe Princess Azula, but that is about it)

Guess I should mention I am only thinking of those who are alive at the present time, just in case any of you were wondering. Thanks!

monk gyatso should be air but Aang is supposed to master all four so that puts him as the master of the elements

he hasnt master all four yet though, and monk gyotso is dead.?? I think Jeong Jeong could make a run for best firebender though.?? I dont think its Iroh anymore though because he wider than high and older than stone.?? (Rock on Iroh, or should i ay flame on)

I still can't see how people can say Jeong can make a run at best Firebender. We never saw him do anything.

Iroh has never lost a battle against anyone even Aang the title character has lost a fight (Against Jet)

If anything Iroh is the strongest bender on the show.

What about Ozai? He's supposed to be the finale villain. C'mon, he has to have SOME monstrous strength that at least rivals Iroh.

Iroh lost to Azula while she was outnumbered four to one.?? Not only that but the fact is??that Jeong Jeong is a great bender because he could teach the avatar, was a high ranking general, taught some of the best firebenders, and was??enough of a threat to the firenation that they hunt him to this day.?? Also,??in the episode he managed to fight off quite afew firebenders at once.??

I'm pretty sure when Aang faces Ozai it will be when he has the comet power up so that won't count, and besides you can't say someone is a better fighter than some one else when you haven't even seen the other person in action.

And to the other coment that he lost to Azula? No that's called a sneak attack when Iroh wasn't looking....Any bender could hurt some one with a sneak attack.

A true warrior is ready for all attacks and can fight nomatter the circumstances.?? If Iroh can be snuck up on its just proof that his age is catching up with him.?? we've only really seen him fight once that i know of and that was against some lame earth soldiers, they were benders but so what.?? And it has been hinted at that Ozai is one of the greatest if not the greatest bender.?? I'd say the tops would have to be Ozai, Iroh and Jeong, though i honestly have no clue about their order.?? I dont believe Iroh is top though

His distraction didn't come from age just the shock that Toph was part of Aang's gang. And he's fougt four of Zhao's men and beat them in three seconds, Beat every firebender on the pier (Avatar State) and beat Azula in one second. Then he beat two of the??four Ruff Rhinos,

And once again we can't put Ozai in the area because we've never seen him in action.

I guess not... But it would just be so anti-climatic if he turned out to be weak...

Once again i must say that we can assume Ozai is good becasue A) he's in power not his elder brother and??B) We saw him in the agni kai, sure zuko kinda sucked at the time but he still beat him quick.?? Also as i said before a warrior should always be ready for an attack, the fact that he was distracted just proves that he has a lack of focus, a major flaw in battle.

Comon it's Iroh the champion hands down and fire out. He is like aging and all but he has proved himself time and time again to be a powerfull fire bender like the truthspeaker said. And Bumi will beat Toph because comon he can twitch-a-bend and Aang although the avatar is the last airbender so he is by default the best (unless later on they will release a group of cowards who ran from the war and then trained daily to avenge their air brothers demise, buut anywhoooo) The Water bending master is the water bending master no doubt.

Your first it was was more of a political overthrow than anything else and Iroh probably didn't feel like fighting anymore (Either in battle or in Politics at the time) And your second...What are you talking about? it wasn't even a fight Zuko just sat there...That's all he did anyone could have scared him anyone!

    Your points are pretty flimsy.

And Ozai will put up a little more of a fight when he has the comets power behind him.

What are you talking about, we saw him evaporate a river and create a giant wall of fire.

Technically Ang isn't an air bending master, he is just a mighty powerful air bender, probably cause he the avatar.

Oza is probably the most powerful of all fire benders.

Im willing to bet that whoever is the ruler of Ba Sine Se is the most powerful Earth BEnder, being it is the last great stronghold of the Earth kingdom.

Pakku hands down is the best water bender around, with the possibilty of maybe one of the foggy swamp water benders, though I doubt it.

aang is the greatest air bender because he's the last, we can stop talking about that.?? Jeong is mighty??but i??would stake my life on the fact??that Ozai is the greatest firebender, finally there is no gurantee that the leader of basingse is a great??earthbender, the leader of the water tribe isnt the greatest waterbender.?? I think Bumi is the greatest.?? If all else fails he can just sit there and be all neutral.

He never evaporated a river...And yes that powerful fire wall that Zhao was able to walk through like it wasn't even there.

Iroh is the only one in the Fire??Category that has even been seen fighting. Until Jeong and Ozai actually fight Iroh is the winner by default.

1st off Jeong let him walk through the fire wall.?? Second, your way is stupid because your disallowing any other true master from competing.?? Currently we only know of three true firebending masters, Iroh, Ozai, and Jeong.?? Under your theory your eliminating the only competition.?? We only saw Bumi fight once, the same number of times we saw jeong fight, so under your theory we have to take him out as well.?? Therefore Toph is the best.?? We only saw pakku get in a real fight once, although i think he was holding back here so we only saw him at full force once, while battling the fire nation invasion.?? Therefore he too is gone and we're down to katara as water bending master.?? Even if we've nvr seen them fight we can gauge their power in our own opinions.?? Also, the fact that we've seen Iroh lose knocks him down a peg, we've nvr seen the other two lose. (dont say it was because he was distracted because once again i state that distraction is a weakness)

well currently Azula is the strongest Firebender...c'mon who else in the show has used blue fire? even Jeong Jeong's was basic orange...but Toph to me is the best Earthbender...she took down 6 strong Earthbenders single handed...what have we seen from Bumi? well he held his own until his own attack backfired...both have lost(tied?) to Aang...but Bumi has only fought against Aang and no one else...he said he was the most powerful but that seemed more like a prideful boast
