Azula's fourteen????

    According to this link, Azula is the same age as Sokka, who is 15. And Zuko started out the show at age 16, which was confirmed by Iroh in Book 1: Water, Chapter 8: Avatar Roku (Winter Solstice Part 1). But he may now be 17 by Book 2, since he said in the season premier that it had been three years ago [that day]??that he was bannished.

    other thing I thought about is that the timeline does not depict a
    years passing. When looking back at Book 1 you can notice that they
    refer to the winter solstice. Roku tells Aang to learn all 4 elements
    by summer's end before the comet. Now given those facts and our real
    world existing timeline that places the kids within a 6 month period. I also do not recall them showing any signs of birthdays so they could
    not have gained a year in age from the start of the show. They may be
    growing up and maturing but not in age. Think about it for a moment.

    Dude why would I brown nose anybody? I have nothing to gain, especially from masterofaeons, so why would I suck up to him?

    Well, the whole series so far has taken approximately 6 months.

    We know this because each season represents one of the four elements; Winter=Water, Spring=Earth, Summer=Fire, Fall=Air *(Sings off key with Iroh)* The show started out at the end of fall, shortly before winter solstice. It wasn't until after the solstice (in other words, until winter started) that Aang started learning waterbending from Katara.

    In "Bitter Work", the eppy where Toph starts teaching Aang earthbending, they made a big point to mention it was spring. Naturally, Summer solstice will be the point where Aang starts learning firebending in season 3, during which Aang will master fire (hopefully) in time for Sozan's Comet.

    Azula and Zuko were 14 and 16 at the start. Since it's only been 6 months, the only way we can know their current age is to find out how close to their birthday they were at the start of the show.

    As for me, I think Azula acts more like an 18 year old who can't think about more than one thing at a time (and has sociopathic problems... serious mental abuse in her childhood, I'm sure).

    I feel the same way. When I first watched the Chase, I thought she was older than Zuko: the way she taunted and teased him, it's like how most older syblings teased their little bro or sister. I was really surprised to learn she was fourteen--though not so surprised when I thought she was 15. Fourteen seems a bit young, the way she's acts. As for the sociopathic problems and maybe mental abuse in her childhood, I agree with you there. I believe there could be something more to Azula, there has to be.
