it's good, all you miss is a history (family, how she became blind, etc...) and this is just to be annoying: if your blind how do you know you are wearing earth kingdom colors
lol ok
I Have been blind since birth.(get that out the way lol) I grew up always needing to get help from people. Over my the time of my Childhood i was being taught how to Earthbend and learned to sense things from the feeling of the ground under my feet. I from then on lived a peaceful life with my parents at the village until the Fire Nation attacked and killed my parents and most of the other villagers. Since then i have been determined to defeat the Fire Nation and avenge my parents death. lol there ya go
It's good to see new people, even though people are still trying to godmod or make their own bending.
???
What is "godmod" i'm alittle lost heck i might just remake this so there is less confusion.....and so people don't have to read 402 pages just to catch up with what has happened so far lol.
Godmodding is making your character unstoppable or giving him more than one kind of bending or trying to make your own bending.
For example, a guy wanted to make a character that could transmutate like in Full Metal Alchemist, but this isn't Full Metal Alchemist.
This is Avatar, and it's one or no bending.
Nonbenders can use all sorts of bombs and weapons, but you can't make them invincible either.
Not to mention, aren't you stealing a motif from the show? Being a blind Earthbender and all? You don't have to make a character blind to make them cool.
And now, the post I've been meaning to complete. I don't think it counts as double posting, because I wasn't finished with it in the first place. But things are finally coming together, so I think you should read this post.
Kela Dasman and Agua Mar: Waterbenders. Saze: Intermediate blue firebender.
Day 32: The North Pole Days
The apartment, Morning.
Bitter taste of what had to be something Kela ate yesterday was present in his mouth. But he could not figure out what it was. He woke up in his bed and his eyes were slightly tired. The sun was just beginning to rise, with a crisp glow through the window, adding heat to his face. He rubbed his eyes softly once again as he woke up and shook his head rapidly. 'Waking up today is a killer...' he thought. He sat up more straightly in his bed and stared at the wall in front of him. The wall was very blank and had a simple artistic painting of a glacier in front of a sunset, which made the picture look orange. It was framed in a crystal and wood woven border that added mysticism to it as well. Kela wished for a second that he could be on that glacier. His mind went blank for a few minutes as well. After phasing out, he decided his time in bed was over.
He stood up and stretched his arms, while yawning. He walked over to the bathroom and washed his face and his teeth. His eyes were hardly open, so he used the sensation of brushing teeth and washing his face to a pleasurable degree. He gargled the water into the sink and poured himself a glass of water to drink. With his water and clean face, he walked into the entry room and stood in front of the window. He squinted out the panoramic window to the North Pole, which was turning from orange to yellow. Then he fell asleep standing up. Realizing what he was doing, he placed the cup of water on the windowsill so that he wouldn't drop it.
Then he realized that Mar was gone. He didn't see her as he walked back and forth through the rooms. He checked Saze's room and noticed that he was gone as well. 'Where is everybody?' He thought. He walked back into his room and put on his clothes. Afterwards, he walked to the Pai Sho table and cleared off all the pieces and put them into their holding box. He then walked over to the corner where the food was and grabbed some bread in his left hand. But with his right, he kept searching for more food. But he had forgotten that when it came to food for them, it was basically black and white. He groggily closed his eyes and sighed, then yawned, grabbing his stomach with his right hand and placing the food on the table. He turned the chair facing the fireplace around to face the table. He slouched comfortable in the chair and closed his eyes for a moment, as if he was not ready to wake up. But then he forced himself to place the food in his mouth the moment he remembered to eat.
After he finished what was supposed to be breakfast, he walked downstairs to the lobby of the apartments, where he saw Mar at a separate counter at the receptionist's desk. It seemed that the counter was recently installed that morning. On the counter was a sheet with names and times, as well as amounts of money next to them. There was a line in front of the desk of about two or three people. He looked at the countertop lazily and closed his eyes for another second. But after he opened them, he saw the triangular sign on the desk that said, "Receptionist for Heating." His eyes became wide opened with surprise. As he rubbed his eyes, his expression became calmer. 'Clearly, this has been what Saze and Mar have been up to.' He thought.
Kela waited in the line for heating until it was his turn. He crossed his arms and leaned against the real receptionists desk, which was tall enough for leaning and gave Mar a sarcastic look.
"Mar, you have gone too far." He said. Mar looked up with a scared look and said, "I can explain."
Kela sighed and wiped his mouth of crumbs from the bread he ate earlier. "You ate the rest of the fish jerky, didn't you?" Mar shyed away from this comment and said, "No, actually, I didn't quite have an appetite this morning, Saze ate it." She smiled. But then she turned around in the chair she was sitting in and stood up. She began walking toward the pipes room. She turned while walking and said, "I'll be right back, I have to Saze something." She entered the room and Kela could hear her say, "Ok Saze, we need heat on rooms 111 in five minutes, 221 in 10, and 56 in 15." But afterwards, he heard an echo from Saze saying in response, "Couldn't you give me rooms that are closer together so I don't have to run up and down these stairs?" Mar was slowly backing out the exit and said, "Well, that's pretty much everyone for this morning, just come back up to the apartment when you are done." Mar closed the door and Kela heard it close once Saze replied, "Okay..."
Mar returned to the desk she was working at and put all the papers in a single drawer underneath the desk. Then she took the sign on the desk and turned it around so that it said "Out of Business."
Kela raised his eyebrow at the reverse side of the sign and said, "Running on empty already?" Mar smirked and said, while she walked around the desk to stand by Kela, "No, we put "Out of Business" to keep people away, but we understand that this tactic will still have others who see us work here ask, "will you ever do it again?" and then are at liberty to say, "maybe".
Kela scratched his head, "I don't get it." He said. The receptionist at the counter walked in through the door, carrying a large stack of papers. He said as she walked in, "Here are the newspapers. We get them now, since the people who make them are trying to start a business by selling the first newspapers here in the North Pole." She put the papers down on the raised part of the counter next to the stairway. "I'll just put them here so that people will grab them on their way up." She said to herself. Then she sat down at her usual spot and began writing names on the sheet she always worked on.
Kela grabbed one of the newspapers and started to read it. "So they make the news in bulk now?" He asked. The receptionist replied, "Yes, one of my colleagues started his idea earlier than mine." She said. She sighed and moved papers underneath one another. She stopped what she was doing and looked directly at them. "He wanted to make it so that more news could be brought to the people of the North Pole in larger quantities. It's mostly about our region, not much about other stuff going on in other nations. " She took a pencil out and began sharpening it with a small knife. "He has the money to hire people with traveling skills to go to other nations and come back with the news." She said. "He pays for information, and appreciates contributions to the business. He is the editor, and inventor of the North Pole's printing press." She continued, "His name is Norman Shawl."
Kela opened the newspaper and started skimming the paper from afar. The paper was called Polar Presses and had an artistic drawing of a penguin and a polar bear reading a newspaper together. Kela shuddered "Where is the news about other nations?" he asked. He wasn't particularly interested in North Pole news. "The receptionist answered, "It is in the back, they only have enough news for one page." Kela rolled up the paper and put it in his pocket. "I will read it later. Thank you."
The receptionist smiled, "Don't thank me...thank Norman!"
Mar exited the building with Kela. "Where are you going?" she asked. Kela took a breath of fresh air and stretched his arms in the air. "I wanted to take a walk around and buy some food, and I think I'll meet this Norman guy." He said. They started walking to the back of the apartment building to the docks. He began unfastening the boat when Mar said, "What about Saze?" She said. Kela stopped unfastening the boat, "Oh yeah..." They ran back to the lobby and waited for Saze. Mar and Kela sat in some chairs and Kela put his head back and faced the ceiling. "We really have to start planning ahead." He said. Mar laughed. "You don't even know where Norman is, do you Kela?" she asked.
Kela closed his eyes and rested. He replied, "I'm am from a place where there is really no place to go. I don't really know where anything is specifically." He opened his eyes again and said, "But that's really what I want to know. I want to know where these places are and what they are about. That is why I left." They were quiet for a short while, and Mar said, "It wasn't because of the penguins, huh?" Kela laughed and said, "No duh." Then Kela thought for a moment. "It wouldn't hurt to get a map." He stood up and approached the receptionist. "Do you have a map?" He asked. The receptionist pulled out a map of the North Pole in detail and circled a place on the map. She drew a line to another place and drew and "X". She said, "The circle is the apartment and the X is Norman's workshop." She said. Kela took the map and said, "Thank you, may I have two please?"
A short while later, Saze came out from the pipes room and said, "Whew, I'm finally done." He sat down in the chair Kela was sitting in. Mar got up and said to Saze, "Are you ready?" Saze looked back at Mar with a confused look. "Ready for what?" Kela started walking out the door already and said without turning around. "We were going to visit a few places and pick up some food," He stood in the doorway and turned around. "Are you coming?"
They got to the dock and unfastened the boat. Mar took the position of moving the boat, and Saze sat in the back. After getting in, Kela pulled out the map and started giving Mar directions. "Well, since we are low on food, and our bodies need deliciousness once in a while, why don't we go to the market, it's not that far." The boat moved through the canals at a moderate pace, with Kela navigating the boat by nudging it wih his own waterbending. Eventually, they arrived at another dock near the market center and fastened the boat once again. They got out, but Saze had stayed in the boat, as he had dozed off during the ride.
"Watch the boat for us, okay Saze?" Said Kela, as he and Mar were walking down the street.
Kela was looking to his left and Mar was looking to his right. While they were walking casually past houses and residential parks, Kela heard some gossip along the way from bystanders, like the fact that it hadn't snowed in quite a while, and that there was a war going on among the people of Fire. Kela took out the newpaper and started reading the back, looking for more information about the war. Under the printed section called "Sub News in High Fire" ('Another cheesy title...' thought Kela.) There was news about resistance armies in the fire nation rebelling on Kousen Island. 'Too bad a place of islands and tropics goes to waste...' he thought.

SUB NEWS IN HIGH FIRE
Due to the time lapse between journeys for Hawks and scouts, new we give about the Fire Nation is approximately 2-3 days late.
Civilian Matana Rysu was on vacation near the Islands of the Fire Nation with his family last week, when he heard from the people native to the country that there has been a war."Well," the fisherman says, "We was just sitting back, my wife and I, for our first vacation in 10 years, when we heard that we was going to have to move out of the motel we were staying at. They were saying that it wasn't safe, that both sides were ravaging dangerously, and would probably spread closer to where we were staying." The leader of the resistance, Harabi, was boldly marching where no other had before, until he was ambushed by the Fire Nation, which was waiting for him at the very spot. The Avatar, Lord Dark Boy, has also arrived at this place of conflict. Hopefully, his judgment will straighten it out, once and for all. It is heard that Lord Dark Boy is over 199 years old, which would explain is outlandish and unusual name. Unfortunately, sources for this event are still short, and we have yet to discover all the details. But news of the War gives a piece of mind for some, and trouble for others. A main source of oil, for lanterns and such things, that we represent, is being asked for by mercenaries from both sides, as they travel halfway across the world to light their lanterns. As the North Pole is making Profit off of this, we are also having some short comings as well. Fruits and other foreign products will become shorter in supply.
BIG ON BOOKS
In other news, we have also picked up information that there is a book worth more than an entire kingdom somewhere. This book contains secrets and is becoming well known as "The Book." More to follow Next Paper.
Also, renowned killers, assassins, duelists, and simply everyone looking for a fight, have appeared in bold letters all around the Earth Kingdoms and Fire Nation and it's colonies. Renowned duelist and weapons specialist, Khuzo Kinuto is debuting infamously, as well as other shadowy characters making a living searching for others...
Kela became somewhat bored with the new article and stopped reading it. He put the newspaper in his coat and kept walking down the street.
When they reached the printing press, they noticed it was one of the most industrious looking things in the North Pole. They could hear the stamping of ink and rushing of water underneath the building, because it was obviously powered by the currents of the canals. It was about two stories high, the first floor was the workshop, and the second story was apparently where Norman lived. Kela and Mar walked to the Door and rang the bell.
A minute later, the man named Norman reached the door and opened it with a shiny smile, head, and glasses. He was the epiphany of shiny facial features. He was also young and energetic.
"Oh Hello! Won't you come in please?" Kela and Mar stepped in embarrassingly and found a place to sit. There was a tea table next to the window, that looked out to the canal that was powering his printing press.
"I'll help you folks in just a second, I've only got 50 more papers to print." He was hunched over printing press, making sure the papers aligned correctly and didn't get squashed or caught. Kela and Mar spaced out after a minute and sat quietly. But Kela retained something after reading the paper, and he had to mention it to Norman.
About 5 minutes later, he placed the newspapers on the counter next to the printing press, next to the other stacks of paper. Fast canal carriers distributed them, which were basically boy waterbenders sprinting deftly down the canal, delivering newspapers. The boy picked up the stack of newspapers with all his strength and heaved them in the boat. After securing himself, he sped off. While Kela and Mar were looking out the window at the canal boy delivering papers, Norman greeted them with two cups of what smelled to be Jasmine green tea. "Sorry about the delay, here is some tea. What news do you have to tell me?"
They sat and drank their tea while they talked.
"So, Norman...How exactly is it that you attain this information?" Kela asked.
Norman scratched the side of his face, "Well, I have paid people who volunteered to go on expeditions to the other nations and bring back information, as well as the few outsiders we get like you that come from time to time."
Kela rubbed his forehead to think how about how Norman knew they were outsiders.
"News travels fast, the whole city knows about you guys." Said Norman.
Mar entered the conversation smoothly, "Well, we have some news to give you as well." Norman leaned forward and listened carefully to what Mar had to say.
"...So, there are pirates patrolling this part of the north huh?" Norman sat back and exhaled deeply. "Yes, and your "volunteers" are probably taking longer than usual because of pirates "intercepting" them." Mar could tell that this had been bothering Kela since he read the paper.
Norman sat up and paced around the room. Kela gazed out the window and said in a monotone, "The only reason we snuck pass them was by using our waterbending to give us fog cover." Norman kept pacing back and forth. "Some of those volunteers were my friends..." He trailed off. He had his eyes closed and he took off his glasses to wipe the sweat off his forehead cleanly. "And you also say there is a resistance army chasing your firebender friends?" Mar turned around to face him, "Yes, his name is Allagan. He is a dangerous airbender that works for the Nation of Fire." Then Kela dared to mention Aeros. "And there was a friend of ours that went to chase after a separate resistance army called Aeros. He is looking to change his friend..." Mar looked down and remembered the letter. "They are both forces to be reckoned with."
Norman paced two more times around the room and put his spectacles back on. He walked over to his chair, but did not sit. He looked at them with helpful eyes.
"My friends have been gone for longer than a month, which is apparently the time it took you to come from the south to the north." He looked around, "If you don't mind helping me find my volunteers, I would like to go with you guys when you leave the North Pole.
"For me, the news is not here, but out there, somewhere beyond the icy walls..."
Khuzo and Ridge, mercanaires
Khuzo's home village
--
Khuzo threw his sword at the attacker who kicked him through the house. He moved his arms quickly, and the sword flew at an angle because of the chain. The attacker dodged it, but looked impressed. The chain and sword slammed into a nearby well, completely destroying the structure.
"My, my...That's a neat little trick," he said. His face was partially concealed, but a heavily scarred, mangled face smiled at him. A glasgow smile that had been stitched back together was very apparent. His smile was twisted in a way near indescribeable because of the mutilation. He stepped forward.
"Who are you?" Khuzo demanded.
"My name is Forge. I was sent here to not only take care of you, but also get rid of the children's father," he said, and he held up a dead Hitan.
"Oh...crap..." Khuzo said.
Sorrow got back up behind Khuzo. He turned but she sent two massive waves of water up towards her hands, and in one fast motion, tried hammering him with massive tendrils of water around her hands. Khuzo dodged the massive waves and swung out his chainswords. One soared at the girl, the other at Forge. Forge ducked just in time to dodge the sword, which flew over him with extreme force. He grabbed the chain and smiled, but just as the girl moved an ice wall to block the other sword, Khuzo pulled his sword in the opposite direction. Forge looked up too late and it sunk deep into his chest. He flew back twenty feet and slammed into a post.
"ARGH!" he screamed, and he looked down. Sorrow gasped, and seemed to lose focus for a moment. Forge was much larger than an avergae human, and much stronger. The sword had sank deep into his chest, and had impaled him on a post, but Forge only grunted as he pulled himself off the post and landed on the ground.
"You insolent WRETCH!" he yelled, and he threw the chainsword back at Khuzo. Khuzo flipped the chain and caught it.
Ridge then jumped out of the water and shot a loaded arrow at Sorrow, and she yelped as she brought up a large ice wall. The arrow exploded, and the force shattered the wall and threw the girl to the ground.
"Sorrow you little welp! You're more powerful than that! FIGHT BACK!" Forge yelled, but Khuzo kept him busy with long range sword strikes. Forge kept moving, dodging chain strikes and keeping up with Khuzo. As the two circled each other, Forge pulled out two large warhammers. He held one in each hand, even though each one was larger than a small child.
"I'll show you...what a REAL fighter can do!" he yelled, and Khuzo saw what was coming. With his swords in his hands, he jumped just as Forge slammed the ground with a hammer. The earth shot up underneath it and traveled right beneath Khuzo, kicking up a massive, six foot tall pillar of earth.
Forge smiled and jumped, this time using both hammers. The ground almost exploded with force and a massive wave shot at Khuzo. He managed to jump over it, and it soared behind him, ripping up trees, scattering wildlife, and destroying any remaining huts in one fowl strike. Behind Khuzo, Sorrow was hit with a massive wave of water. Reika had ran into battle, and was now helping Ridge keep up an offensive. Ridge had got to shore, as fighting a waterbender in water was a bad idea.
The two were just managing to hold her off, Reika and the girl fighting for control over any water the other brought up.
Shungo shot a boulder at Forge, who slammed a hammer against it, causing it to explode into tiny fragments.
"You're out of your league, boy. So is the mercanary."
"Can it, you mangled freak!" Shungo yelled, and he used more ranged attacks as Khuzo closed in on Forge. His swords met the man's hammers, and Khuzo managed to block them by blocked underneath the head of the hammer, aiming for the long handle underneath.
As the battle grew heavier, Itami suddenly burst out of the woods, wearing a Fire Nation robe, but of course not wearing any shoes. He tackled Ridge and threw him into the dirt. Itami kicked through Ridge's bow, and Ridge looked at the snapped weapon.
"That's...that's...that's just low, man," he said, and then he punched a lauhging Itami in the face. He dropped the bow and pulled of his quiver, but kept the two arrows in his mouth.
The girl interuppted their fight.
"No! I want the archer!" she yelled. There was sudden rage in her voice. Ridge's arrival had stirred somehting in her.
"Oh? OK then! I'll take the girl!" he said, and he turned and tackled a confused Reika to the ground, pinning her there.
"Hey there, cutey, howya doin'?" he asked, and he bent his head in close. She spit in his face. He just smiled heavier and laughed.
"Ooh man! You hurt my-OOF!" Itami shouted as a giant rock slammed into him. Shungo smiled and then reengaged Forge.
Reika got up and water encircled her. Meanwhile, Ridge desperately avoided water strikes.
"KHUZO! HELP! NO BOW!"
"Grab mine! From the hut up to your right!" Khuzo yelled as Forge brought down both hammers in an X pattern down on Khuzo. He grunted from the amount of force in the strikes.
"Come, boy, just admit defeat! I'm NOTHING like anything you've ever faced before!"
"You're right...You're a lot more pathetic than anything I've ever faced before!"
Forge yelled and suprised Khuzo with a very powerful kick. Khuzo knelt back and dodged a hammer strike from above, but the force from the kick and the force from the strike knocked him down. Another hammer slammed into his side and he was knocked into the river. The sound of bones cracking deafened everyone fighting. Khuzo's seemingly lifeless body rose to the surface of the water.
"NO!" Reika shouted and she screamed as she sent the whole river up over the battlefield. Itami looked up and the smile was wiped from his face. He shouted and was hit with a huge blast of water that threw him back into the depths of the forest. Sorrow was too focused on chasing Ridge, who had made it to the hut, which probably wound up saving his life, as the water blasted over it, Sorrow was washed away. Forge tried to bring up a shield of earth, but Shungo knocked it down from behind and then sealed his feet to the floor. The water managed to knock even the massive Forge off his feet, but Shungo had managed to just stay rooted to the ground. As the water piled over everything, Khuzo's body was washed ashore, but spared from the storm by Reika's expert waterbending. It went around him, sparing him from further harm.
Shungo was soaked and couldn't stop coughing as he tried to pick himself up. Ridge popped his head out the window and looked down to see Khuzo laying on the beach. Shungo couldn't even pick himself up.
Reika jumped down to the beach and picked up Khuzo. She flipped him over and saw blood pooring out of the wound on the side of his chest. At first, it seemed as if he was killed on the spot, but he suddenly began showing signs of life. He moaned, but he wasn't conscious.
She brought up water around her hands and tried to heal him. The light encircled his chest and he began to breathe a little easier, but it was still strained. Ridge came down and slid next to him.
"Oh crap. Oh crap. This is not good. We have to get him somewhere where he can get help, or he's gonna die."
"Where?! Where can we go?!" she screamed, and Shungo managed to pull himself up.
Khuzo suddenly moaned and his eyes opened partially. He strained to get the words out.
"...Map...Shaman...healer...forest..." and he pointed at his hut. His hand went limp again and he lost consciousness.
Ridge ran towards the hut and found a large map on a table. He grabbed and came back, and then he slapped Khuzo, who jolted awake.
"Argh!"
He looked down at the map and pointed at a small marker. Ridge looked at it. It wasn't far.
"What does he want us to do?!" Reika asked.
"Well he wants us to go here, and we need to leave, now, so this is where we're going," Ridge said.
"It's across the river," Shungo said, and he looked at Reika. Together, they began to bend the mud around them on the beach. A bridge formed for Khuzo to get past. Ridge picked him up and blood was still pooring out the wound.
"Dangit, this place better be as close as I hope it is."
Maximus: Non-bender, hand-to-hand specialist, and sharpshooter.
Esther: Waterbender.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Maximus walked in and took a seat at a table. A woman walked up to his table and said, "Welcome! Would you like anything to eat or drink?"
"I would like some tea if you have some..."
"Coming right up! And for the little one?"
"I'll have some tea to!"
Maximus looked at Esther and she looked back with a smile. He looked back at the waiter and nodded in agreement. The waiter smiled and walked away.
"Tea?"
"What?! I was in the mood for tea!"
A man and his friend laughed from a nearby table and Maximus stared at him with a straight face. The man was wearing a pair of common Fire Nation apparel and was eating some of the greasiest dishes that he had ever seen. The guy was a slob, and he was dripping fat off his chin and off his fingers onto his shirt. There was a dark teardrop shape right between his pecs. It was growing and spreading into an increasingly large stain. But the best tavern etiquette doesn't let you linger on such a sight, and the guy caught Maximus staring.
"Who you looking at?" he said. It was said low and aggressively, but Maximus ignored it.
"Who you looking at?" the guy said again.
Maximus' experience was, they say it once, maybe nothing is going to happen. But they say it twice, then trouble's just over the horizon. The basic problem was that they take a lack of response as a sign that you're worried or nervous, and that they're winning. But then, they won't let you answer, anyway.
"You looking at me?", the guy asked.
"No..."
"Don't you be looking at me, boy."
Certainly the word guard or soldier never came to his mind. But, then again he was relatively new to Fire Nation.
"Don't you look at me!", the guy commanded.
Maximus turned his head and looked at him. Not really to antagonize the guy, but it was just to size him up a bit. Maximus knew that life is endlessly capable of surprises, so he knew one day he would come face-to-face with his physical equal, a big brute that would be able to carry tons of weight over his head. Somebody who might worry Maximus or make him nervous. But he looked and saw that this wasn't that day. So he just smiled and looked away again. Then the guy stood up and walked over to Maximus' table. He jabbed him with his finger.
"I told you not to look at me!" he said as he jabbed.
It was a meaty forefinger that looked like a fat sausage, and it was covered in grease. It left a definite mark on Maximus' tunic.
"Don't do that..." Maximus commanded.
The guy jabbed again. "Or what?", he wondered. "You want to make something out of it?!?!?"
Maximus looked down and now there were two marks. The guy jabbed again. Three jabs, three marks. Maximus clenched his teeth and started a slow count to ten. Then the guy jabbed again, before he even reached eight.
"You deaf?", Maximus asked. "I told you not to do that."
"You want to do something about it?"
"No...", Maximus said. "I really don't. I just want you to stop doing that, is all."
The guy smiled. "Then you're an Air Nomad piece of sh!t."
"Keep talking big guy...", Maximus said. "Just keep your hands off me."
"Or what? What are you going to do, punk?!?"
Maximus restarted his count. Eight, nine...
"You want to take this outside?!?", the guy asked. Ten.
"Touch me again and you'll find out!", Maximus said. "I warned you four times."
The guy paused a second, and then, of course, he went for it again. Maximus caught the finger on the way in and snapped it at the first knuckle. He just folded it upward like he was turning a door handle. Then, because he was flustered, he leaned forward and head-butted the guy full in the face. It was a smooth move, well-delivered, but it was backed off to maybe half of what it might have been. Maximus had no need to put the guy into a coma, over four grease marks on a shirt.
He took a step to the side to give the man some room to fall, and backed into the waiter on his right. "Excuse me, ma'am.", he said. The woman nodded vaguely, confused by the noise, concentrating on the customers' orders, unaware of what was happening. The big guy thumped silently on the floor and Maximus used the sole of his shoe to roll him half onto his front. Then he nudged him under the chin with his toe to pull his head back and straighten his airway. The recovery position, field medics called it. It stopped you from choking while you're out cold.
He paid for his drinks and then the slob's friend came up to Maximus and stared him right in the eyes.
"You...me...outside.", said the man. "The name's Reacher. If you want a real challenge, then meet me outside and you'll get one..."
Maximus smiled and then followed Reacher outside. They walked towards the shop directly in front of the tavern, until about midway, where they walked into two different directions. They faced each other and watched each other's movements to see if either one of them was nervous or scared or was showing any sign of weakness. As soon as all of the customers from the tavern were at the windows, Reacher charged in first to deliver the first blow. During the first blows, Maximus pulled out his bladed bow and concentrated on his defense and let his muscles settle into the rhythm of swordplay.
After several minutes of attempting to get past Maximus' defenses, Reacher lost his temper and began to batter at him as if to pound him into the ground. Reacher had expected a quick defeat and easy humiliation, not an equal opponent, and his simmering anger now boiled. Reacher began to fight for his life. He wouldn't be content with pretend wounds and victory, and he was out for blood. The crowd, who had chattered and cheered for the well-known Reacher, became completely silent as the air rang with the tintinnabulation of the singing blades.
Maximus thought desperately for a way out of the mess. He didn't want to have to go to any extremes to wipe him out. Reacher's sword slipped past his defenses and shot fire towards his throat. Maximus dodged. He praised loudly, "A wonderful strategy but firebending? Really!" When Reacher launched his sword backhanded in a return blow, Maximus thrust his bow vertically and caught it before it cut him in half. "Excellent! Excellent! You're lucky that I'm not even trying!"
Reacher blinked as if coming out of a daze but continued to go for blood. Maximus laughed and spouted all kinds of praise for almost a minute before Reacher's attacks began to ease up. Their weapons caught each other high in the air, and they stood belly-to-belly, face-to-face.
"What the hell do you think you are doing?", Reacher questioned.
"Death is a messy thing. I don't want to kill you in front of Esther, and I don't particularly want to die in front of her either. According to my own moral codes, that's not acceptable. If we must fight, then we do it without a female audience." Reacher glanced toward Esther who stood white and silent, her hands clinched in painful distress.
Maximus sighed and said, "I'll have to end this quickly..."
Reacher raised an eyebrow and Maximus smiled. He jumped back and pulled an arrow out of his quiver. He readied his bow by pulling the arrow back and aimed for Reacher's left eye. Before the arrow was released, Maximus moved it slightly to the left and launched it. It flew right past Reacher's face and he stood there shocked that he almost got killed.
"That was for the firebending earlier.", said Maximus.
"Why didn't you kill me?!?"
"I don't kill anyone...at least not anymore...You're free to go, but you got to pay for my drinks."
Reacher put his head down in shame and nodded monotonously. Maximus walked over to Esther and picked her up. She rested in his arms and soon fell asleep. He walked towards the beach and the first thing he noticed was that both boats were gone and out of sight. He sighed and then looked up at the sky for some sort of inspiration. He closed his eyes and then a loud horn boomed from the nearby docks. Maximus looked towards the direction from where the sound came from and then saw a bunch of sailors loading and unloading cargo from the ship. Maximus walked over to the sailors and approached them with caution.
"Uhh....Hello there!", Maximus greeted.
A man walked off of the ship and bowed to Maximus. "I am the captain and this is my ship. Is there something you need?"
"My name is Maximus H??. Mind taking two passengers with you? I'm willing to pay."
"Hmmm.....How much you talking?"
"Thirty gold coins."
"Well! Come on aboard! Where you headed?"
"The mainland."
"Just where we're headed!"
Maximus walked onto the ship and was escorted to one of their cabins. As soon as he was in, the first thing he did was gently put Esther onto the bed.
"I guess she wasn't here. We'll have to try again at the mainland..."

A character with no bending... I wonder who your talking about?
Nice post by the way. You too Redemption

Hey is it too late join? I've never actually done this before, but i'm curious to try. I think i might i have submitted my character earlier, but i didn't do anythign with it. Well, if i can still join, here's my character!
NAME: Tessa (too lazy to look for an overly symbolic chinese name and it's my name!)
AGE: 16
HEIGHT: 5' 3"
WEIGHT: 110
TRIBE: no tribe, kinda a nomad
BENDING POWER: No bending power. She's a theif. Seduces men (mostly sleezy rich men)and cons then for all they got). also a very good sniper. can shoot targets from miles away without any fancy equipment.
HISTORY: Raised in a middle-income family with mother and father. After witnessing her younger sister's death she runs away and begins life as a theif. Then she meets up with a team of rag-tag rebellions trying to take down the fire nation. But the fire nation turns around and offers her a hefty sum to become and payed assain and pick off members of her team, inconspicuously.Everything is going great, and no one suspects she is the assain, until she begins to fall for one of the rebels in her group which might comprimise her indentiy. (see no overly mysterious/vague background that leads to an intensly cliche character)
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: teal eyes, honey blonde hair, light porcelin skin, very soft features (ironic to her personality)

Kinda short and its actually cliche mostly cause anybody who isn't a bender is an assassin but I like the plot. You might need to make the history longer(ask TLG- PM him or something)
Other than that you've got a good start... just use good grammar/spelling. Can't wait to see what you've got.
By the way you spell it compromise

ohhh lord someone called me cliche? =[ lol, i understand. i will work def. work on it. And yes my grammer is uhmmm not so eloquent lol. I think I failed every one of my spelling tests back in grade school. Alrighty so I shall ask TLG if my character is acceptable, and if it is, from there I just write her story, and intertwine it with others?

Seriously, don't loose your head. When your talking to people no one cares if you mispell words (they might have a little fun telling you so ). And actually your grammer was fine. I'm just saying that when you write your story to include proper grammer/spelling cause sometimes we get people who don't care. Lastly your character is only similar in being an assasian. But your plot is completly different and it actually exists which is more than most of these guys can say.
