Can't use the show to justify bending lava because lava has only been bent three times on screen, all by Avatars. Twice by Avatar Roku and the other time by the guy I call Avatar Go*. *people who study Japanese should get it. |
Well your mom goes to college too
After that comment a civil war broke out in the RPG topic forum and everybody died of over-commenting and replying.
I just seriously have too much time on my hands so i've been writing and posting like crazy. Anywho here's the second to last part of this chapter in Siam's life. Then its goodbye Mrs. Yoji's home and hellow um something else???
Anyway i would like to dedicate the last part of this post to Pervy Sage who's probably somewhere on a different site screwing up HEROES instead of Avatar RPG. My his PC burn in oblivion. Enjoy...

Siam - airbender duh
Mrs. Yoji - earthbender
Iwao - earthbender
Grandma Chiyo - waterbender
~~It's the second day after they were attacked and Siam is resting~~
///////////////
Siam awoke to the feeling of someone putting their hand to her forehead. She shifted around to find Mrs. Yoji sitting there.
"Sorry for waking you. For a moment I thought you had gotten sick what with being asleep for an entire day."
An entire day, Siam thought. No wonder I do not feel tired.
Mrs. Yoji shrugged her shoulders and got up to leave. "Well lunch will be prepared in half an hour so come and eat to get your strength back."
Siam was about to get up herself but a thought popped in her head before Mrs. Yoji had left. "Mrs. Yoji, why didn't you tell me about Iwao... about his disease?"
Mrs. Yoji hugged the door frame and sighed. "Iwao did tell me about what happened down there. I was hoping to talk later but since you asked I will tell you. The disease he carries is indeed very contagious but not to airbenders. Don't ask me why because I have yet to find out myself. I actually spend a lot of time around the Western Airtemple for this very reason. The disease basically eats away the bodies extremities and then the body itself."
Mrs. Yoji paused for a second but then continued. "The reason he has lived so long is because of the fact that we have been keeping him asleep in a coma like state while we preserve his body. The disease almost halts its progress but it also keeps his body from maturing. I've been trying different medicines and herbs to counter or eradicate his affliction but all I can do, with Chiyo's help, is slow it down. And as for telling you... part of me forgot because you're an airbender and gifted with a natural immunity but I believe another part of me didn't want to tell you in fear of you treating him abnormally. In the end it was just wishful thinking..."
Siam was shocked. She did not know whether to cry or take notes. She understood most of what Mrs. Yoji had said and secretly agreed that she would have done the same thing in the given circumstances. "Am I the only visitor he ever met?"
"You aren't actually. The monk Makani has showed up on a couple of occasions before his death..."
"Uncle," Siam breathed as she tear rolled down her cheek.
"... Chiyo actually came into contact with the disease when she helped me deliver him. My husband was the actual carrier and had secluded himself from potential victims but I was able to live with him since I wasn't even a carrier..."
Siam then witnessed something that she thought Mrs. Yoji was incapable of doing. For the woman was crying whole heartedly.
"If only," She sobbed. "If only I had known of the pain I would be bringing to my son. If only I could only have prevented his pain."
Siam stood up from the bed went over to hug the crying woman. "I'm glad that you didn't know. I have found a wonderful friend and protector out of your son. He has showed me what perseverance looks like on a day to day basis. So h-his birth with that terrible disease was not an accident but a hidden blessing."
Mrs. Yoji pondered in wonder at the gem of wisdom that Siam had unearthed. She hugged Siam all the more and they stayed that way for several minutes. Afterward Mrs. Yoji turned to leave and headed through the door leaving Siam to get dressed.
"Um, where are my clothes? They must have put them somewhere," pondered Siam. She looked from the quilted bed to an oak dresser where a pile of neatly folded clothes lay. She picked up what looked like a moth green blouse to find a note lying underneath it.
Your clothes got ruined while you fought underground so I dug out some of my old clothes. Hope they fit you. -Hana Yoji
PS - wear the skirt for the party.
Underneath the note was a white skirt with lace on the ends and some travel pants below them. Siam went giddy and immediately tried them on. The blouse was a little snug around the waist but the skirt was the perfect length.
"I looks very nice on you," Iwao said as he walked in. "Anyway it's time to come down for my birthday party."
Siam started to blush as she walked into the hallway and down the stairs to the kitchen. Once she got there, she saw red lanterns everywhere along with sweet smelling food. She felt so hungry right then that her stomach growled loud enough to halt everyone's activities.
"Oh good heavens, just eat something already Siam," said Grandma Chiyo.
Everybody laughed and made merry for the rest of the evening. When all the food had been consumed they all sat in the living room next to the fire and talked.
So, Siam we've got to head out tomorrow morning," began Mrs. Yoji. "I suppose you'll be leaving Kempa in Chiyo's care?"
Siam sadly nodded and drank some more of her cordial drink.
"I'll pack some food for your travels tonight Hana," said Grandma Chiyo. "I even made your favorite fruit preservative. I'll make sure to throw that in as well."
Mrs. Yoji laughed and put her hands up in surrender. "Again Chiyo, what would I do without you? Anywho, it's time for bed and we've got to get up early too."
Iwao glumly got up from his chair and went to his room after saying goodnight to everybody. Grandma Chiyo decided to busy herself cleaning the kitchen before she went to bed. Mrs. Yoji got up from her position and finished her drink. She made a heavy sigh as she approached the stairs leading to the hallway. About mid-stair Mrs. Yoji stopped and turned to Siam. "Aren't you heading to bed Siam?"
"I am, but first I want to talk to Iwao."
Mrs. Yoji turned and waved her hand in consent. "Just don't be up too late."
After staring at the burning embers of the fire for a couple more seconds Siam got up and made her way to Iwao's room. When she entered, she found him lying on his back and gawking at the ceiling.
(knock, knock)
"Can I come in Iwao?"
The boy snapped out of his trance and swiveled his feet to sit on the edge of his bed. "Um sure... what's up?"
"I just wanted to say happy birthday and that I am sorry that I didn't trust you in the cave. It wa..."
"Don't mention it," interrupted Iwao. "I'm pretty sure this would seem strange to somebody who's never seen it before."
Feeling a lot better Siam walked over to Iwao's bed and sat next to him. "So Iwao... I haven't given you your present yet. And since you rescued me, I want to make it special."
Iwao was about to object but Siam put a finger to his mouth.
"But before I give it I have to tell you a secret," Siam said as she motioned for him to move closer.
"What's your secreumph," Iwao replied just before Siam kissed him on the lips. As Siam held the boys face with her lips, Iwao started turning red from ear to ear. As she broke off Iwao started to gasp and realized that his heart was beating fast. "Siam! You ju..."
"You really have never been around young girls your age have you? Your mom and Grandma Chiyo are the only females in your life. Well, I guess that this will make the occasion a lot more special."
"B-but Siam," stammered Iwao. "W-what are you doing?"
"Once, when I went to the fire-nation," Siam said removing her blouse and skirt. "My parents had me taught fire-nation dances. This particular one...," Siam continued taking off her undergarments. "...is called the Ji-Uta Mai."
Standing in front of Iwao, Siam danced for her rescuer. She gracefully swooped down on one knee and then eased back up with her hands flowing around her. She then raised her hands to the ceiling and skipped lightly from one foot to the other. Siam continued by pivoting one foot in front of the other and crossed her arms to her chest.
As she danced for Iwao, he watched in awe of her performance. His heart raced faster and faster as did his breathing. But just before he felt he could die happy he passed out on his bed while Siam finished her dance. Seeing him in his state Siam smiled as she put her clothes back on.
"You really have not seen any girls around your age," she laughed as she tucked him and wiped the drool from his mouth and the blood from his nose. "Good night birthday boy." Siam then left the room and headed to her own. Grandma Chiyo silently emerged from the stairs and after checking on Iwao head to her own room with a chuckle in her throat.

Just a note folks: the Ji-Uta Mai is a real japanese dance but I couldn't find a videos of someone performing it so i basically made up all the moves. I little cheap but meh.

Ok, I've edited my post because I kept thinking I was too mean. That's the Avatar. Please understand lavabending is a combination of earth, fire, and air. So instead of proving your point. you are proving my point. I will continue if you want to keep pushing your idea of lavabending, but you will only run into a wall called geophysics. |
First of all, applying our physics to Avatar's Physics is pointless. Second, you seem to be ignoring the part that says that in those four scenes, the Avatars are seen bending their native elements. That's a whole part of the assumption here. Third, why not show him making a giant pillar of flame or something, instead of making volcanoes blow up?

Dude, I'm not going to argue with you if you can't make a valid point. Physics has nothing to do with it.
The fact you are associated the four elements in a flashback episodic revalation showing us the faces of unamed avatars without going indepth as to how the fire avatar achieved lavabending without earthbending is pointless. Pillar of flames is different.
And in avatar, they DO obey the laws of physics with the exception of elemental Telekenisis. It's not like they can fly into space on their own or anything. Just drop it. Lavabending is no longer allowed.
If you planned on putting it in your story, then that's your thing. Nobody can enforce the rules anyway. But if you continue trying to support the statement: "Lavabending is ok" By showing me a picture of the Avatar and pointing saying, "Look, he's the fire avatar." I'm going to keep ignoring you. Fire avatar or not, they're all the same avatar, just reincarnated.
The fact he used a volcano does not prove lavabending is alone controlled by firebending. It just means fire has something to do with it. Ok?
PS: here is my final point.
If you look at avatar "Go" as eman cleverly called, he is standing in a Horse stance. Lavabending is more associated with earth than it is fire. However, earthbenders can't lava bend because they would bend rock without heat. If an earthbender tried to move lava, it would end up getting cold. Unless you can bend earth and heat at the same time, you can't bend lava. And the avatar is the only one who can do that.
Actually, lava REQUIRES all four elements to bend. Lava is initally made of rock. to put it in a liquid state, it has to be heated. To erupt lava, you need gases. And to bend lava, you need to know about waterbending, because the motions "go" goes through is waterbending.

Can we please get off the subject of lavabending here? It's starting to get annoying, seriously. |
Holy s***. Wow.
Ok. I'm going to explain in detail how my lavabenders lavabend. And, if after that you don't accept them, fine. It's moot anyway since the story's over save for Chad's part.
Daf, you're using science too much. Normally, that a good thing. Physics applies in Avatar, but it is frequently disrupted by the benders. Benders ply their art through the chi that flows throughout them and the element they bend. Lavabenders don't bend fire or heat, they bend chi. Yes, earthbenders can bend lava since it is molten rock, but it is also very hot, which gives a lavabender a lot to work with. It's an invisible omnipresent energy thing, not a physics thing.
If you don't agree, say "I don't agree.". I know what you said and what you would say, and I hate reading the same thing twice. This is my explanation.
Nein, the next time you feel the urge to speak, don't. You just wasted a page and a half with useless, moot, post discussion on a story that's technically been over for months because I said the word "lavabender" to Dj.

Well, i do agree with your explanation. You made a separate type of bender that bends lava with firebending. It's fine, it's in the past. I even said so in the begining when you said, "HA ha b*tches, I already got lavabenders." And I wuz liek, "Not my problem." But I felt like making sure ppl didn't make anymore lavabenders becuz they were hax.
Secondly, I wasn't upset about the fact you guys already used lavabenders. If you read back, it's like the first thing I say. But Bai Mao kept arguing after it was stated several times by eman, myself, and double09 that there is no lavabending without the four elements or your explanation.
And if I wasted half a page, so sue me. A reply is a reply. One of us spammed the topic just to get to the nienthousandth post. Just take it easy.
Ok guys, you need to calm down. I didn't mean to "annoy." Why should I take this crap when I'm commenting all your stories? I'm reading them and I always give feedback. The fact I wanted to talk about lavabenders shouldnt' be a big deal. 0o

Hi guys... I've been at my drill weekend these past two day. I REAAAAAAAALLLLLY didn't expect to start WW3 with a thought that popped in my head. I do apologize for the inconveince that it may have caused who ever. And if it means that much to you confusionsayshi I'll get you a new page after we finish this one. And dafoose... If you read my comments included above my latest post i really don't know what i am going to do next. I feel that there should be at least one more stop/chapter/whatever/etc before they reach the NORTHERN AILTEMPLE. So yea
ps you all need to stop replying in form of a QUOTE and just REPLY. That way you don't waste the page repeating someone elses Quote of someone elses Quote of someone elses(you get the idea)

Yep. So far down that it deleted the doccument and I have to start over.
