Yes, only a year after Avatar was nominated in 3 categories at the Annie's, Avatar is only given one this year. Giancarlo Volpe for Directing in an Animated Television Production for the episode "The Drill". I'm shocked nobody got a writing nod from the show this year. In particular The Swamp, Bitter Work and City of Walls and Secrets stand out in writing. And I cannot believe the show did not receive a nomination for Best Animated Television Production as it did last year. Instead The Fairly Oddparents gets on the list, despite the fact they haven't produced a quality episode in like 2+ years.

So Avatar still doesn't get any respect from the media. What a shame. Not even the Kid's Choice Awards gave it a nod. That's dumb.

EDIT: They also got one for:

Yu Jae Myung ??? Avatar ???The Blind Bandit??? ??? Nickelodeon

I guess the definitions of "great," "original" and "outstanding" have changed over time. Good shows are not respected anymore.....

That's bad...Didn't Fairly Oddparents end?...Avatar is a much better show.

Wow, no writing awards? It should get one purely for City of Walls and Secrets, or the Finale!

Well if it's any consolation the X's received 3 nominations, 2 for character design, another for storyboarding...

What the heck are the critics smoking? Not even HALF the animation produced in America are as good as Avatar. Avatar is a well fleshed-out show that has ACTUAL depth and intelligence. Children can learn so much about morality from three minutes of The Swamp compared to a whole season of Xiolan Showdown.

Exactly. This was my reaction when I found out:

But really, Avatar should be nominated for much more. It is such a great show in writing, animation and everything else. I guess people haven't realized that Avatar is such a??good show??this year......

How sad is the world that we live in that a cartoon with a little kid making bad wishes and displays little morals will beat a cartoon with depth and meaning.??
    **Shakes head in disappointment**
Well hopefully it can get some award for this Season's finale.?? To me I think it is one of the best finales in many shows on TV today.?? But that is just my opinion.

I say we revolt against the kids choice awards and the Annie awards.

Maybe Nickelodeon disregards any comments except from critics who are 5 years of age or younger... >_>

Honestly, do people not realize that Avatar is a gold mine just waiting to be exploited? I can probably guarantee that at least 1/2 of the people who watch it can say without a doubt that it is (as of yet) overall the most extraordinary and magnificent of any??animated show ever.

People don't appreciate brilliant storylines anymore. And Fairly Oddparents doesn't even HAVE a storyline. It's just a bunch of stupid and extremely childish episodes featuring bad jokes and horrible animation.

    Thats Crap!

When millions of dollars are given??to a show that the creators have poured there hearts into, and FOP and the X's get more nominations.

    Another reason life isn't??fair. ??

    Hear hear!

Avatar is a gem that Nick just doesn't want to appreciate. Remember when they replaced the Avatar time slot with *throws up* Mr. Meaty? This is one of the few animated shows that actually has a storyline or plot to it. Sorry, but a sponge running around laughing at himself and flipping patties doesn't do it for me. Its a shame that its so under appreciated. Nick needs to realize that Avatar is the only thing saving their butts. And yes, I agree, "at least 1/2 of the people who watch it can say without a doubt that it is (as of yet) overall the most extraordinary and magnificent of any??animated show ever." It really is a shame...

I have?? friends, my roughly my age, that really get into this show and several others that starting to get into it. Heck even at the gorcery store I work at I see alot of kids with there moms bring the Avatar Airheads and Fruitsnacks through the checkout line. I kid you not.

It had better be on the kids choice awards next time

wtf fairly oddparents got an award? that is the worst show ever. there isnt even a story! plus, the morals are all the same: "dont wish for something you will regret later"
