I think season 2 had a greater hype than this season. There's rarely anything going on. The plot has kind of washed out, and I really don't have a need to watch it anymore...

I don't think it has. I think it's hype is stronger than ever. ..Then again, I wasn't here during the other hiatus so I have nothing to compare it to.

But I'm going to have to disagree; Avatar is in it's last season, so things are a little slow (not that much though), but so far, all of the two-parters have been very epic. I think the finale is going to be even more so.

I'm sorry that you don't feel the hype, but I do. A little bit too much.

I'm sure since the majority of season 2 was based entirely on The Day of black Sun, the creators would get to it right away then skip directly to Sozin's comet. Never mind giving Aang time to heal from the lightning. Ignore Sokka and his issues with self-worth. They should have just put Zuko in there on the day of Sozin's comet with no explanation as to why he was there or how he changed his mind.

    /sarcasm.

What are you talking about? I LOVE this season. Although there are some aspects of this season I could do w/out.

Me too, but that's what happens when you're paying to much attention to something you like, I guess... But sadly, I partly have to agree with I-Am-The-Answer (with his terrible avatar). The hype is far from gone, but it has decreased tremendously. People who have been here for a longer time know what I'm talking about, although I do appreciate the people who keep this forum alive.

the tv.com hype seems that it may have decreased, but the whole Avatar fandom has increased greatly.

And even if the entire fandom has decreased at this moment, it will be crazy come finale time.

(and just thought i would add also that i love this season! I'm sure that anyone who is iffy about this season now, will change their minds once we see the finale)

This is my favorite season so far. I'm going to have a heart attack when I see Aang becomes a fully realised Avatar (including mastering AS).

I'm having a heart attack now just thinking about it. But that's just me.

Don't forget that Nick has created this giant break between BR and the finale partly to make some big-time money from merchandising. They've done it before, and they'll keep doing it because they are intelligent people (although I hate them for doing it lol).
Anyway, I think you can only see if something is a REAL hype from watching the REAL fans. I mean, if you only look at the fandom, a one-day-fly would become a hype.

And yes, I really LOVE this season! Especially The Firebending Masters.

It's only "lost it's hype" because you can't watch it anywhere but on underground websites and fleeting vids on YouTube that usually get taken down almost as soon as they get put up.

That said, the hardcore fans like myself don't need hype to watch Avatar.

No. Avatar has gotten better and better through the seasons I expect that pattern to continue until the end.

You said what most of us were thinking, so there was no reason to repeat anything.

    But, very nice.

I definitely think that this season is ah-mazing, but the extreme hiatuses, I must admit, have dampened my hype as well. If the breaks weren't so long and common, I'd still be on this forum everyday of every hour. Now, all we have to talk about is trashing Nick and Spongebob, a new book that most likely doesn't even have to do anything with the finale seeing as the writers of the show don't write the book (I'm not sure seeing as I haven't gone more than the first page into that forum, so please don't spoil it), and desperately hanging onto air dates that disappoint. I must admit, there's only so much more I can take. I'm not saying I don't still love Avatar, I do! But it won't be long before I get fed up with this bulls**t all together.

Completely agree. I suppose, though, another way to look at this is that the overall plot is beginning to wind down but the action and fighting is, well, winding up... Sort of.

Because if we respond to your comment, the creators might actually make it happen! :O

There was a lot more hype when season 3 was starting from the long 9 month wait then now. By the time the finale comes though it the hype will come back

I know you ain't dissin A.I. (He's AWESOME) But I have to agree with you man.

Forum wise, yall gotta admit, it has lost dat hype at least, as quoted by a member at night, "Man, no one posts at night...this forum's really dead."

But fandom wise, Hype's bigger than ever.
