Aren't they too young to have a romantic kiss?

    it's been a while that I've asked that question about the Avatar.

    The last episodes were really good, I love how they end it (Althought we have to wait for a while to see new episodes of Avatar: The Last Airbender, I love this show a lot.). We have seen Kitara kissing Aang in the earlier episode, but it was only a small innocent kiss. However, in these last episodes, they had a really romantic kiss...

    I have nothing about kissing or any sexually activities, but aren't Kitara and Aang too young to kiss? This is after all a kids show. Aang is 12 and Kitara is 14.

    Also, in episode 316, Sokka a 15 years old boy was waiting for Zuko in his tent with roses and a sexy ambient... I don't know about others, but I had a few ideas what they will do next. (Ya, there is no rule about what age you're allow to kiss or to have sex, but we shouldn't introduce these ideas to kids more than they already have)

    Well, Aang and Katara have both matured beyond their years. Katara's mother had died and she was torn away from her father. She was always a mature young woman because she had to take care of Sokka, so I'm not surprised that she kissed like that. Aang learned the ways of the Air Nomads, which already makes him quite mature. Also, he lost his friends and family to the Fire Nation as well, so he was forced to mature. And let's not forget the fact that he's the Avatar, so he has grown-up decisions to make. I'm not surprised that they kissed. They're both in their 40's maturity wise.

    ya, but a friendly hand holding would be very cute. I personally think that they make them kiss so that the show will be interested by kid and adults.

    Mature or not, they are still 12 and 14. Is sex about age or about maturity? I mean, if I had a 14 years old daughter, I wouldn't be very happy to see her kissing a 12 years old boy romantically. No matter how mature the 12 years old boy is, he still very young. I mean, really young...have you seen a 12 years old boy? They are really small.

    ok Lady Celest is right, they are 13 and 15 now, Aang and Zuko established that a year has passed by right before Zuko was crowned Fire Lord. Also,someone else in another one of these threads established that Avatar world marrying age is like 16. I think romance doenst have age limits, plus its there to appeal to the older audiences. I dont believe most of the younger audience can even comprehend the deeper themes in the show never mind the romance (and Sokkas position in the tent. Theyd know a bit too much for their age if they could. This isnt exposing at all though, id put money on a kid learning this stuff from watching somethin like family guy not Avatar.

    nah little kids don't know what happens in a truely romantic kiss anyway. so they just think that it was a long kiss. while we know exactly what happened. 13 and 15 is old enough, love has no limits or boundaries.

    I heard on the news that a 13 year old boy brutally stabbed his estranged father to death after he went home in a drunken rage and tried to kill his mother.

    King Tut had incest with his sister at the age of 13 and produced 5 babies (who all died). Ancient Egypt Timeline = Ancient Avatar Timeline.

    Oh, and Aang was supposed to be a virgin and all, with his monk garb, but I guess he broke that rule.

    Yeah, and Suki's village and customs seem more Japanese, and her name can mean "flawed technique" in Japanese, so some Japanese elements are there as well.

    Aang is not 112 years old. He's just existed that long. His body didn't develop, so I don't really think that counts. But this is a completely different world, and so I think that the age difference shouldn't really matter. And I think Aang can understand love. I also believe that Katara understands it as well. I didn't think the scene was weird. They DID kiss for a very long time, though.
