I never thought about it but Ang(sp?) has killed alot of people. In the episode when the Blue Spirit saves him from the fortress and he was fighting on the wall. He knocked alot of people off and falling from a wall that high would have killed them (but they didn't show them hitting the ground). thiers alot of other times when he's done this too.

They probably survived because the ceators want them to because Nick wants them to.

they probably survived... havent u noticed before? people dont get killed that easy by falling from something in this show.
just take the episode ''Jet''. at a certain point, Aang fell out of a giant tree, not being able to air bend. when he fell nothing was broken or anything... dont forget that its still only an animation

In cartoons, people get away with murder easy. It happens. Play Kingdom Hearts 2. Sora actually kills 13 people in it. The "offscreen" and "hinted at" things can be pretty heartless. I'd say ATLA is mild at worst.

this show is different... here, people dont die that easy... it takes A LOT for it to happen. thats why i was a bit surprised that Jet got injured so bad in one hit. i guess he got hit harder then i thought...

I don't think that he was saying that it was amazing that Aang got away with killing those people, or that he was complaining about it. Just pointing out something that people might not have noticed. I myself am surprised that he hasn't killed more people, considering all the people who have attacked him by now.

And ardron, unless you know the TC and are just joking around with him...rude much? >_>

no kidding... if you remember the old GI Joe cartoon, everytime a plane exploded you saw guys in the background with parachutes or if a tank exploded the characters were crawling on their bellies away from the fire... realistic NO, but hey in animation it works! ...and keeps the FCC on your back for the ratings!!!...??

I wonder what happend to the Fire Sage who helped Aang in "Avatar Roku"...think he was executed for treason? and what about all those soldiers in "Siege of the North"? You think they surived after being swamped over with ice cold water at that speed? or when Aang became that...giant koi fish and started slicing up Fire Navy ships that not a single person perished? heh...Avatar has racked up a pretty high death toll for a??"children's show"??

Yep. Then there are the "semi-direct" deaths. You know, like Zhao, you don't SEE the death, but they throw hints at you that a blind person could see.

It's like this: Tom and Jerry used guns, but everyone was fine, haha. In here we're a little less afraid to kill people so long as nothing is shown and there's no blood. Which is more desensitizing?

Oh I'm not saying Aang was wrong for doing that...hell I loved that part of the SotN that was climax of the Season 1 finale...I'm just pointing out that alot of people have been killed in this show, just none has ever been killed directly on screen they either vanish(Yue) or are just never seen again(Zhao) only one dead body has been seen the whole episode(Gyatso), I'm really waiting for Aang and his Squad to come across a battlefield sometime in Book 3 and witness the carnage the Fire Nation has caused, and not just a burned out landscape, unless that landscape is littered with dead bodies...and don't say that's too graphic cuz Disney did the same thing in Mulan and the movie was still rated G

It just normal action sho/movie plot structure: Stormtroop/eer cannon fodder characters dieing does not count, no one knows them and no one sees them dieing bleeding to death crying about their mommies. This is why most of the firenation soldiers have masks, their that dehumanized. God I don't even want to know how many masked engineers drown to death in the drill. Then there also was those poor victims of azula like the captain of her ship and the drill's main architect, we all know azula most have had them tortured to death in some excruciatingly horrible way.
