It's Freud lite. I didn't say what would happen to Sokka, Katara, or Toph, now DID I?!
Besides, to be Freud I'd have to have a silly beard and feel up a bunch of middle-class women.

I see it differently from WorldTyrant, but somethings I do agree with.
Yes, the initial Appa riding is meaningless, however, the part about Momo carries no meaning for Momo, but is still important. Momo could never replace Appa. Appa is a ten-ton bison that can fly and can create huge gusts of wind. Momo can't compete. There's more likely something that Momo causes the group to have to endure. Perhapse they are discovered because of him.
The journey to the palace means something. I don't know why, but seeing him plow out of the Earth makes me think they are going to take an underground path.
Inside the palace, he'll begin to have doubts about his choice to not let go of Katara. I'm guessing that they'll be confronting the elite red-armored firebenders and find just how strong the enemy can be.
When he gets to the last door, notice how there is a slightly longer duration before the change of scene. He then confronts the mysterious question as he looks left and right, seeing the destruction that his friends are facing. That is when the bad stuff happens to his friends. Toph will die, Sokka will be put in critical condition, however, Zuko will still be reletively fine because he will also get the comets power. I'm not sure about Suki, maybe he just wasn't thinking that she would be there.
The freezing in the presence of the giant fire lord shows that, once the comet arrives, Katara will be hurt very badly and his water chakura (dealing with pleasure, blocked by guilt) will be so burdened that it will weaken him to the point where he can do nothing at all.
Under the intense weight of his guilt and the blocked chakura (symbolized by the ice, remember, frozen water=ice and impeded water chakura=guilt), Zuko, the only one who stands a chance in the comet's presence, will have to be the one who holds off Ozai until Aang makes his choice. That choice will be either letting Katara die, but still being in love with her, or keeping her alive, but losing his love for her.
Momo saying "shhh" signals that, if Aang does nothing, the world will end.

Those are all really interesting takes on it. I really liked the water chakura, I was confused to why Aang was frozen but your idea makes so much sense and completely possible. I really liked the going underground to which is probably what that was meaning too.

| Also: For some reason Sokka and Katara are in their FN clothing, while Aang and Toph use their regular clothing... Could it mean that Sokka and Katara will be captured when Azula goes to the Ember Island mansion? |
Thats a good observation didn't notice they were in their FN clothing. I wonder if they do get kidnapped in the episode they learn about their mother. Possible scenario, Azula captures katara and sokka and brings them to a war ship, Zuko, Aang and Toph go and rescue them, which would indicate the parts in the trailer of them battling the war ships. Toph wouldn't be able to see since flying on Appa so the meaning for her eyeless.

Well, thanks to everyone who is enjoying my analysis. It comes from being a psych major.
I'd still like to hear others' takes on it. Especially the Momo parts. I'm still open to interpretting what those mean.
Some moments might have deeper meanings but others I'm pretty sure were just for lulz.
Not all mirages and illusions and psychedelic trips have relevancy.
I thought NaDD was hilarious, but this part really freaked me out! My poor 8-year old cousin had nightmares.
I think that when Aang sees all of his friends being in danger, it shows how he is scared for their lives and doubting if he should fight Ozai alone or not.

They're about to fight the fire lord, they're all in mortal danger.
I honestly have no clue how to view pretty much the entire dream. But, there was one thing about Toph that jogged my memory.
Remember back to the first season finale? Koh said that he would be back (or something to that effect). Then, in The Swamp episode Sokka and Katara saw visions of someone they loved and lost. But Aang saw someone he had never met before. If you connect the dots, it's possible to conclude that Aang saw someone he would lose (And love, if you're a Taanger. Personally I could see it as a friend/family love, but whatever).
In Aang's dream, Toph didn't have any eyes. I'm thinking Koh comes back in the finale and steals Toph's face. But that's just me. Either way, it looks like Toph's gonna die (ohnoes!).

Hmmm...
I would like to see Koh again and that does make a level of sense. After all, they didn't just have Toph "die" in the dream, they pointed out that she had no eyes as well.
Still, how will Koh breach the wall into the physical world and for what ends? He doesn't seem like the world-domination type. Could Koh just want an endless supply of faces? If so, why? Does it increase whatever other powers he has or is there something else that he gains by stealing a face?
