What's the deal with that? In the first season he only cried once.

The second season is a lot darker, with a lot more emotion. I can't remember him crying to many times, though... how many times has he cried this season? I remember he teared-up in the end of The Library and cried at the end of The Desert... What were the other times?

Well he did lose his life long friend(Appa). And is doing a nearly impossible quest. And he is confused about his feelings for Katara. Heck that's lot for a 12 year old to deal with Avatar or not.

Yeah, I know, but he's the Avatar! I know he's just a kid, but hey, my 3 year old brother is stronger than that. He needs to be more manlier like Sokka. He did,'t cry when the princess died.

Sokka didn't know Yue since he was a tot, like Aang did with Appa.

Well one good example was when he cried because he didn't want katara to be killed and when that baby was born.

I wouldn't exactly call Sokka manly, goofy yes but manly, no.

Hmm... I suppose you have a point with Katara, but it seemed totally understandable to me... it must have hurt to see his best friend and waterbending teacher get killed. o-o

Could your 3 year brother understand dieing? And being the avatar doesnt mean much he is still human! What would you do if your life long friend was kidnapped or you watched your friend die?!How would you feel?Plus what does your 3 year old brother have on his shoulders?

Yeah, and plus, Aang is 12. Sokka is 16.

On the subject of crying, we've seen all the main characters cry, haven't we? Aang, Toph, Katara, Sokka, Iroh, Zuko? Not Azula though. And probably never.

Is there a problem that Aang cries? It seems perfectly understandable to me.

It shows that he's human. It shows he isn't perfect. In a sense, he is like everyone else: he has his problems, his fears, his loses...

Although I wonder what'll happen in Season 3? I don't think he'll be all weepy-eyed and such, but I know something big will happen. It's not the fight with the Fire Lord. Something will happen... I got a feeling about it...

I swear Sokka's 15? Anyway, Sokka doesn't cry because he had to grow up quicktime, unlike Aang, who had a childhood.

    I can't remember but...
Didn't Sokka cry or almost cry when his father left? He was 13 or 14 or something like that.

wow give him a break. He's been through so much, God forbid he show some emotion without someone calling him weak. I mean, can you tell me you wouldn't cry if you lost one of you life long friends? Not to mention he still has to save the world from the Fire Nation. Besides it's not like he's crying over several different things, like some over emotional people who will cry if you look at them weird. He's just really torn up about this Appa thing and stuff. I mean he's 12. 12! I'd say for a 12 year old he's holding up pretty well.
