As we've all seen, Chit Seng is the latest addition to the Gang. From the way he's acted so far, his purpose may just be a comic-relief lug. Also, he may just be there because the creators wanted another firebender. I posted an idea in another thread purposing that Gang has to escape from the WAT at some point. (Airships, mist-filled cavern.)

But of course...everybody and thier mother told me. "NO...THAT'S GONNA BE IN THE BOILING ROCK, NO DOUBT!!"

So, does anybody else think that Chit Seng might become a traitor, perhaps leading the Fire Nattion to that Temple. Like i said, he seems to have a pretty decent personality, But I'm just trying to think of a reason for the creators to randomly put him in. Any thoughts?

    Will he betray?

    No.

Will he run off and continue doing whatever he was doing before he got arrested?

    Sure.

Will he be the one to tell Azula where the WAT is?

    Of course!

Doubt it, he'll probably have the same role as Haru, Teo and The Duke, AKA make the animator's hands hurt more.

I believe Azula can easly think of the WAT for their hideout.

Are you saying that if Azula manages to catch him, he'll just crack?

    I could see that happening.

is far most likely that he has some "connection" to what happened in the water tribe when Kat's mom was killed, and he will give clues to the gaang on how to find his former leader, the leader of the southern raiders

I think he'll end up taking one for the team. They probably will need someone to stay behind and fight off the Evil Forces of Azula while the others escape from the WAT. Hmm, maybe that's too much like what happened with Mai. But still, he can't go all the way with them, Appa can barely move anymore! I mean, the poor thing was meant to carry ONE AVATAR. That soon jumped to three... four... five... SIX frickken people that Aang drags around with him now. And Chit Sang might as well be Combustion Man's brother, he's huge! Nope, that thing is NOT allowed on Appa. Someone please speak against this unjust form of animal cruelty...

Actually, he's big enough to be CM's brother... and for all we know, probably is.

I bet that the failgaang (my name for Haru, etc), Hakota, and Chit Sang will all hop on the war balloon and start some new invasion force.

Their new warship probably needs a firebender to fly. *cough* Hey, look at that, a firebender who isn't on Appa during the trailer! El gasp!

Whatever his purpose, he leaves with the rest of the failgaang at the end of the next episode, as they are conspicuously absent in everything we've seen of the Ember Island Players.

The thing that confuses me about his character is: why is he going to join/help the Gaang at all? You guys are making it sound like he'd be a horrible person to 'betray' the Gaang, but as far as the FN people are concerned, (pardon the analogy) the Gaang are pretty much terrorists, and Aang is like Osama. I can't imagine even a hardened criminal betraying his country like that.

I mean, yes, Zuko and Iroh did, but they have distinctly different perspectives on things then some random FN thug.

I think he is more like June, and doesnt care what side he is on, as long as it benefits him.

If he cared about his country, he'd be a good citizen. If he were a good citizen, he wouldn't be locked up in the Boiling Rock.

He's also not very bright, and I'd imagine he's pretty fickle. Promise him a reward, promise him amnesty. Promise him something, because he doesn't have anything.

Well, either way, betraying the Gaang wouldn't be out of character at all.

Either he's loyal to his country, and betrays them out of duty, or he is loyal to anyone/anything and betrays them for personal gain.

It wouldn't be out of character because we don't KNOW his character.

    Watch and see, youngins.

i dont know. too late in the serious to really develop a good traitor sub plot. remember, he didnt know that sokka and zuko were helping the avatar. he left with them because he wanted to escape, not to join the avatar. if he knew about the avatar there and still joined, then i might buy into it, but he didnt know. now that he knows, it's gonna be hard for him to run off to the Fire Nation capital and tell azula about where theyre hiding.

so long story short, im rooting for him at the moment.

I think he'll just run off to his life before...IMO I mean we don't have time for him, it's just that the gaang has other things to worry about....

BTW I checked the closing credits it's "Chit Sang"
