Even if I wanted that, I couldn't, because techically Jews aren't supposed to mix meat or milk. But I don't like meat anywayDX...no offense.

P.S. I agree with most of what you said, although there has been a picture of Aang hugging Katara by the waist and her huggin him by the neck. (I'm a Zutara shipper, btw).

Mazer, srsly one of the best posts I've seen on these forums discussing shipping, particularly the two most popular ships. I think you ARE being very objective in your assessment. I agree 100% with everything you said. For a long time I've been a Zutara fan because it just feels better for me (Kataang feels very childish, personal opinion only), but I don't see the creators of a children's show throwing a curve ball at kids such as Aang not getting his girl.

I think Zuko and Katara will become very good friends, and I think there is a lot left to see of Mai + Zuko. I would loved to have seen the faces of all the super illogical Zutara haters when that clip of katara hugging zuko was shown for the first time, though.

edit: To all the people who didn't read this fine post...L2Read!!

When I first saw it, I just thought "Aww, Katara finally accepts him in their group." But I don't illogically hate Zutarians, so I guess that's why it didn't really affect me.

Yep, you're not one of them. I meant the ones who have said Zutara is pathetic and completely fantasy since the beginning. Sure it had it's moments of wishful thinking, but take aang out of the picture and then let's discuss how probable Zutara could be.

Okay, I read your Wall 'o Text, but then decided I was too lazy to read all the responses. So if I say something that's already been said, please ignore it.

First off, thank you for stating your ship at the beginning. I don't think your statements were biased at all, but it was a good idea to tell us what side you were on, just to keep it as equal as possible. That's said, I am a Kataang shipper, and will be completely biased in this comment.

I don't think the trailer should have been used in your statements to prove anything. You can't know the context from a 2 second clip. Anything could have happened in that particular episode. And your point of Katara hugging Zuko around the nect while he hugs around her waist proves nothing. I checked also. Thee are a few scenes where Katara hugs Aang around the neck. Aang is shorter than Zuko, so how he will hug back will be different.

Zutara could happen, but I really doubt it. It's just a fangirl's dream. I would be happy if it did happen, but I don't think it will. As you said, its a children's show, and the main character has to end up with a girl. Since Katara is the only one he has ever shown anyinterest in, it will be her. I'm not saying Zuko is a player, but he has had other intersts than Katara. In fact, he has not even shown any interest in Katara! They've been together teice before season 3; in the caves, and in the pirate episode. In the Waterbending Scroll, Zuko used Katara's necklace to bribe information out of her. He didn't show any interest then, in fact, he seemed to enjoy watching her struggle. But that was back when he was still the main baddie. In the caves, Katara offered to heal Zuko's scar, not because she had romantic feelings towards him, but because she felt sorry for him. The poor little boy who nobody loves. He could have been an ugly puppy with a broken leg.

Wow. I'm being harsh. I did say I liked Zutara, but only in fanart, fanfics, and my imagination.

The Katara Fan inside me usually overrides all "Zutarian" moments and I see them as characterization for her. I see it as that since she's such a kind and helping person, of course she would _____ to help _____. (insert most of the things she does, even "Zutarian evidance" and that's what it looks like to me.)

Same here. That was the first unbiased post about shipping that I've seen in a long time, and I agreed with almost all of it (except like the person who wrote the quote above said, a Kataang hug has happened like that before). Also, the Zutara hug was a complete surprise to Zuko, whose hands went to the closest spot -- her waist, while Aang is usually expecting a hug at least a fraction of a second before, so he has time to raise his arms a little before the embrace.
