List the places, specifically cities or areas, that you think the campers would be from.

Bridgette: Southern British Columbia, around Vancouver.

Beth: She's on a farm so Saskatchewan or Alberta.

Ezekiel: Manitoba, the "eh"s have that pinned.

    LeShawna: Windsor, Toronto?

Katie and Sadie said "What's up Toronto?" when they greeted their friends from Play de Losers, so that answers that question.

Geoff seems to be from Eastern Canada (the hat)--maybe Nova Scotia or New Brunswick.

Gwen's Goth look is all over parts of Toronto, but I've seen a lot that type in Montreal and even parts of Vancouver. My gut says Metro-Toronto.

Trent's reference to Blackcomb Mountain and his musical inclination makes me say Vancouver

Harold is a Prairie Dog, like Beth and Ezekiel. The mullet is also a giveaway as well. I'd say Regina, Saskatchewan or Calgary Alberta.

LaShawna and DJ are very likely from the Anglophonic West End of Montreal. A lot of Jamaicans and African-Canadians live there. There are also some large predominantly Jamaican and African Canadian neighborhoods in Metro-Toronto as well-especially in Scarborough. I'll split the difference--LaShawna is from Toronto-Scarborough and DJ is from Montreal.

Noah reminds me of some government bureaucrat's son who is a know-it-all. I'd say he's from Ottawa.

^Really, cowboy hats in the Maritimes? I was gonna say Calgary because of its whole western thing. His accent also isn't the Newfoundland brouge either.

Goth is like everywhere now. Not really just the huge metro areas. Plus, her house from the video from home was a suburban home so she could be from Missasauga? Hamilton?

Harold does seem to give off a middle of the continent flare, just an average guy. That makes me think either Winnipeg or Thunder Bay.

Trent, since he snowboards, must be from Whistler or somewhere in the Rockies.

I'm pretty sure that beth is from around Regina or Saskatoon. There's nothing but farms in Saskatchewan.

    Heather, I'm gonna say... Ottawa?

I'm guessing Justin's also from BC, the whole lifeguardiness of him makes me think BC.

Do you think anyone's from the territories or Quebec?

Uh, I said Manitoba. That's a prarie province. The almost Minnesotan accent he has nearly proves it.

Leshawna might be from Halifax, which has one of Canada's oldest black communities.

It might be amusing if Duncan and Courtney came from Calgary and Edmonton respectively given the sometimes rivalry between those two cities. On the other hand Courtney for some reason makes me think she might be an English speaki9ng Montrealler.

The show is set in SW Ontario, so I would imagine a good number of the campers came from America (in fact, the set town is only a few hours away from Detroit & 2 hours from Toronto).

Anyway, how could anyone tell where a camper comes from? It's really impossible.

The only character on the show who's obviously American is Chef Hatchett.

Owen is a Leafs fan, which puts him in Metro-Toronto.

I disagree about the Goth Stuff--having travelled all over Canada there is a DEFINITE concentration in Metro Toronto, Ottawa/Hull and Montreal. Gwen would come from that area. Mississauga is in the Metro Toronto area.

Of course there's nothing to stop American viewers as seeing the characters as Americans given the similarity of many Canadian and American accents. But since the show was originally developed for a Canadian network and audience the creators presumably meant for the characters to be Canadian.

In one episode, Geoff comes right out and says he's from the East; and since the show takes place in Ontario, that implies the Atlantic provinces.

I think Eva might be from the Yukon Territory because of her poor social skills. The reason I think this is because the Yukon Territory doesn't have many people who live in that province. Eva could probably get away with MURDER up there and nobody would even know about it! Of course, even if anybody did, they'd be too scared to talk about it, because Eva is straight up scary! Enough said!

See, that's why people think Americans are idiots. We hear Bob and Doug McKenzie on SCTV and hear all the "eh"s and we project that to Canada as a whole. The stereotype of Canadian speech would be Ezekiel. But really, you can barely tell any difference between General American and Canadian English. I'm not surprised, though. You don't see many Canadian shows on American TV. Corner Gas, TDI and Kids In The Hall are the exceptions.

    Here's what I think:

Eva looks like a Russian to me since she looks very tough and all.

    Bridgette is from California, baby!

The beaches in Vancouver actually have surfable waves. Like 3-5 foot waves. That, in addition to the fact that everyone on the show is Canadian pretty much guarantees that Bridgette is from British Columbia.

Uh, Green Day references don't quite work. I seperated them by a conjunction, not what they did.
