I think it's obvious that Harold is a ripoff of Napoleon Dynamite. He IS Napoleon, if he had all the skills he claimed he had. And when Lindsay called LeShawna LeFawndah, that sealed the deal. It's like how Kip and LeFawndah fell in love in the movie as unlikely as it seemed. The only difference is LeShawna doesn't give the SLIGHTEST urk that she's a drag queen.

Well, Owen is a rip-off of Chris Farley's characters from Tommy Boy and Black Sheep with extra farts thrown in for good measure. They're still both pretty darned funny!

Yeah I think that's what they where going for you can also say Duncan and Courtney's relationship is a rip off of "The Criminal" (Jude Nelson) and "The Princess" (Molly Ringwald) in the Break Fast Club.

DO YOU THINK THEY MADE "RIP OFF" CHARACTERS FOR THE POINT OF A CLICHE, OR DO YOU THINK THEY LIKE THOSE CERTAIN PEOPLES MOVIES, OR DO YOU THINK THEY WHERE JUST BEING LAZY?

If you look at the way the characters are classifed, they are ALL CLICHE's! The non-nonsense Black girl with attitude, the artsy goth girl, the wannabe, the party dude, the delinquent, the Type A bossy girl, the scheming bi-a-tch, etc. The reason why archetypes and stereotypes exist is because real people behave like those archetypes and stereotypes.

harold is actually a rip off of john heder's famous roles. jon heder played as an ice skater (forget the name) in blades of glory. harold skates. and napoleon dynamite, again. but what is up with that pink and blue hamburger on his shirt?
