my least favorite character. why, I find people like him to be extreamly annoying.
I HATE HIM
It's funny how, in the US commercials, it shows Owen getting kicked by the bucking moose and says that he probably won't win.
It's also funny how the comic relief character wins. And I don't think he got Duncan voted off. They wouldn't have even found the camp without the map and compass if Owen hadn't smelled the sticky buns.

Owen is a lovable fat idiot, he may not be much of use in challenges, but who cares he is funny! |
Kristy: Owen proved himself useful in several challenges--he was one of the last 3 gophers in Basic Straining, he singlehandedly knocked down 4 players on the Bass one after another in Dodgebrawl, he canoed successfully in the Boney Island Episode and he jumped off the 1000 foot cliff. While he was not useful in a couple of the challenges (the cooking one comes to mind), Owen has pulled his own weight repeatedly over the course of the show, which is why he was never voted off.

He was useful in some challenges, but over all he seemed be holdinto g his team back. Is he a strong character? Yes. Is he one to really care towards doing what is best during a challenge to win and not doing it the fun way? No. That is just my opinion though.
That's where I disagree. Owen did do his best in every single challenge, even when it was hard for him to do so. Look at Basic Straining, the spin the bottle challenge, the deer hunting challenge (he tried harder than the other gophers, who basically turned on eachother, and got thrown over a cliff in the process), the three armed competition (where the poor guy got chained to HEATHER) and even camp castaways. Owen did care about all the challenges and even when he was having trouble, he didn't stop going, which is more than I can say for Courtney, DJ, Heather, Noah or most of the other campers, with the exception of Duncan and Gwen.
The only reason why Duncan got voted off after Owen ate the sticky buns is because Heather and Gwen mistakenly thought Owen would be easier to defeat in the next epiosde (spin the bottle). Instead, Owen took on EVER SINGLE DARE that got thrown at him while Heather and Gwen kept on going after eachother.
Gwen figured out that Owen was going to win that challenge and finally threw her lot in with him, which was a VERY SMART MOVE on her part. I do not think the other campers could have survived all those insane spin the bottle challenges like Owen did. Owen is DA MAN, he deserved to win and he proved himself in my book. Case closed.
