Ok everyone, I have recently been watching the episodes where Trent and Gwen were eliminated and the episodes where this couple has broke up and I came up with this theory. Maybe Trent and Gwen had NOTHING to do with their breakup. In fact there were actually a few factors/ contestants that I saw stood in their way of them leaving so soon and breaking up.

    - First off was the whole 9 obsession. It was all due to this that Trent went all weird to everyone. Why is that? Duncan explained that it was all about their relationship. Duncan: "5 letters in Trent, 4 letters in Gwen. Put them together and you get..." 9! Yeah Gwen was shocked about this and that started the shake up between these two. Gwen began to think second thoughts about his BF. It's possible that Duncan may have led them to break up.

    - Were there more people involved? YES! Do you remember what Owen said to Trent as all the contestants were gathering firewood? Owen said that the lady wants to win. And in this relationship, It's Gwen. And due to that, Trent began throwing off challenges to make Gwen's gaffers win. I already saw the trip from his dance was FAKE! And the rest of the challenges, he just wanted to lose.

    - Gwen's Obsession? Karma. Right after Gwen spoke to the grips to vote off Trent, Gwen started to have this total obsession about Karma biting her right in the butt. U know the team was already going to win it all. Why was Justin trying to make his team lose to convince Gwen to lose? Confusing there, but the point is that Justin may have led Gwen to elimination. The confrontation with him and Gwen was serious and I think Gwen was really upset about it. So Gwen wanted to pay them back by making them lose. That made her team vote her off because of that. Gwen, you owed the Grips alright, but you got the worst end of the stick.

    - Trent was REALLY obsessed with Gwen! Well that was actually his problem. I was thinking that it was all Trent that made him and his team lose for Gwen. He was trying to earn points for their love relationship, but it didn't help at all. Gwen really hated it. Trent should have known better than that. Yeah Trent, Your Stupid!

So you can see here that the contestants all around them may have had something to do with what was going on with Gwen and Trent and that led both of them to their early departure. If only these two were actually trusted each other more, they would actually go further. But it's all over now.

Not to mention that Trent got jealous of Duncan. That's basically what started it all. Trent then tried to get her jealous instead, but that didn't really work...then he tried to use his lucky number for, uh, luck, and when that didn't do much, he started throwing challenges.

I can't say anything more because I've seen 8 more episodes than most of the Americans.

Good point and also add then Trent and Gwen was now on opposite teams. Maybe T&G would had break up in a later episode if Gwen didn't picked Duncan on her team.

Also, if Geoff and Bridgette wasn't voted off before Gwen and Trent chosen their teamates. I wondered if G &B would had meet a fate similar to T&G? Imagine the "what if?" situation: Trent pick Bridgette and Gwen pick Geoff. Could be possible then we would had see a double breakup?

Personally, I don't think that Trent should've gone nutso by becoming threatened by Duncan cutting into his relationship with Gwen. I mean, Duncan is ALREADY supposed to have Courtney as a girlfriend (and if Duncan ever cheated on HER, she's always got that lamp-post to hit him on the head with!) And also, Gwen shouldn't have walked into Justin's trap like that. Justin and the others would've voted Trent off anyways even if Gwen HADN'T have told the Killer Grips to vote Trent off. Bad enough that Gwen dumped Trent, but telling Trent's team to vote Trent off is just cruel and unusual, and definitely NOT a move that can help someone get to the final two! But Trent's worst mistake is first voting off the crazy Izzy and then doing the exact same thing that got Izzy voted off! It's possible that if Trent had been more focused on the game and less focused on Gwen, they might have managed to last until the team merge. But then, you can't re-write history and what has been done, is done. Let's just hope Trent and Gwen can make up their relationship to each other in one of the aftermath's, they're too good of a couple to stay broken up. Enough said!

Now that I am looking back on this episode, it seems that 5 people are at fault for this mess.

Duncan - He got the snowball rolling. He got very close to Gwen, even in the second episode. As a result, Trent got jealous. Also, he was continuously putting Trent down in front of Gwen. At that point, she was such a great friend to Duncan that the insults started getting through to her. Her like of Trent began to deteriorate from there.

Owen - He suggested to Trent to start throwing challenges. Too bad Owen's only relationship is with a twice-insane werewolf on steroids. He doesn't know a thing about how girls work.

Trent - Duncan and Gwen's friendship put Trent under the illusion that he was losing her. As a result, he tried to get her jealous so that she would run back to him. That didn't work. He tried using his 'lucky number' so she would, luckily, come back to him. Even that didn't work. So, his only recourse was to start throwing challenges. That sort of worked. So he does everything in his power to impress Gwen - corny lines, more 9 obsession, and even more challenge-throwing. Unfortunately, Gwen's like of Trent is deteriorated so much by this that she finally has to break up with him. Plus, throwing challenges didn't give him a good relationship with his team. Even without Gwen's say so, they still would have voted him off. His problem wasn't that he tried to win Gwen back. His problem was that he tried too hard.

Gwen - Where to begin? She got close to Duncan and KNEW that it made Trent jealous. As soon as Trent started counting "1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9", she stopped liking him. It was slow, but it happened. Her infatuation with him was starting to wear off. She saw a flaw in him, and at least for one episode, she couldn't believe it. Then, as episode 5 started raging, she just couldn't cover it up anymore. In the confessionals, she was obsessing over every slight error that he made. Her mysterious, perfect boyfriend became a real, imperfect person. Plus, she didn't tell Trent that she didn't want him to throw challenges. Finally, she just didn't want to be in a relationship with this strange, 9-obsessing weirdo that she mistook Trent to be, so she broke up with him. If Gwen was only bothered by the challenge-throwing, she wouldn't have broken up with him. She would have told him to stop throwing challenges. But, she didn't want to admit how shallow she was for liking the mysterious, perfect Trent instead of the normal, imperfect Trent. The challenge-throwing was an excuse. Her reaction to Justin's accusations actually suggest that she LIKED Trent throwing challenges for her. Then, Justin tricked her into telling the Grips to vote Trent off. They would have done it anyways, but this way, Gwen owes them and she knows it.

Justin - After hearing that Trent was throwing challenges, he staged a scene to guilt trip Gwen. Then, he forced her to say a bunch of things she would never have said otherwise. But, I have to admit, his ability to strategize and verbally (ha!) corner someone in an argument is quite impeccable. But, he was the one who trapped Gwen and got Trent eliminated. Now, he's going to be the one who makes sure Gwen pays the Grips back for Trent's cheating.
