Over the last year, this couple has caused outrages throughout the entire fandom. Some people absolutely love them and see them as perfect. Those people will see them as very compatible, friendly, and as the best couple on the show. On the other side, we have the people who believe that they are too perfect. They believe that Zoke was taken way too far, and after the writers shoved them down our throats in TDAS, I can see why. A couple of months ago, I stated that Zoke was one of my favorite couples While I lost it watching them in TDAS, I really liked them in Revenge of the Island. Their storyline was somewhat enjoyable in Season 4, they both were likable in some way, and they actually tried to compete in that season. So, what do I think of now? Honestly, I'm pretty neutral. I say this because BOTH sides of Zoke have very convincing reasons to like them or hate them. After TDRI, they were my favorite couple. After TDAS, I needed an Advil. They were beyond shown off in TDAS that I lost a lot of likability for them, especially at the end of the season. They are always seen as perfect, Mary Sue like characters, who have no faults and have hearts of gold. This gets old quickly, and it is a huge problem when it comes to actually writing out a season. Everyone automatically knew that The Final Wreck-ening would suck because once Mal would be defeated, it would be a snooze fest! And it turns out, we were all 100% right. It is one of the most hated episodes in the TD fandom, and the challenge from Chris (shocker) was insane as well. But enough of TDAS, let's get to my overall thoughts on Mike and Zoey by themselves. Despite the whole TDAS fiasco, Zoey is still one of my favorite characters to date, and my favorite from the 2nd generation cast. Mike on the other hand, not so much. I am not much of a Mike fan at all anymore, and is one of my least favorite characters from the entire Total Drama cast. Now I know what you are all thinking, and I understand. Let me explain why I like Zoey, but not Mike: 1. Zoey has always focused on the game. I mean, she has never missed the final 3, and has won 4 immunity challenges total (counting her TDAS ending). She also won every single challenge for the Hamsters, taking the role as the leader. Mike has NEVER won a challenge. He has never even came close to one. Heck, not even Mal could win one! And this is just one of the many reasons why I prefer Zoey's ending. 2. It is completely obvious that are both nice. But at least Zoey has never offended anyone. Mike has a curable MPD with the press of a button. Now, maybe not everyone hated that idea, but a lot of fans weren't happy with that. We have never seen Zoey do something like that. 3. How about Commando Zoey? This is by far Zoey at her absolute strongest, and she actually was very interesting during this phase as well! 4. Finally, Zoey does not have a unfair advantage. Mike has 5 other personalities that have all competed better than he ever has on the show. And even with the advantage, he still sucks I know Zoey has her faults. Is she boring? Oh yes, very. Her personality is practically invisible. Does she have any good storylines? NO. You can thank All Stars for that one. But when I look at her overall, I like her strengths that I mentioned, and that for me is why I still like Zoey. Mike is the complete opposite of this. Without his personalities, he is just...there. Nothing else. He is very weak when it comes to challenges as well (see "Heroes vs. Villains" and "A Mine is a Terrible Thing to Waste"). Despite this, I do not think that Mike and/or Zoey should EVER come back to the Total Drama series. At this point, some will go far as to boycotting Total Drama and Fresh TV if they ever return to the show. Personally, I agree. I don't want them back to do nothing, or God forbid another Mal plot |
