What's your opinion on Atlantis Squarepantis

    I've just seen it for the first time, and ok, it wasn't the greatest thing in the world, but after stuff I've read on here, I thought it was going to be rubbish.

    I mean come on who can resist:

    "I'M PATRICK! I'M PATRICK! PATRICK PATRICK PATRICK AND...AND I LIKE.....uh....um....uh...I don't know what I like"

    And that NES parody bit with the Germ Warrior is now a classic in my books

    When I heard it was a musical, I was expecting it to be practically all sung and really cheesy (esspecially when I saw a clip of the bubble song. Although when the clip is put together with the rest of the movie it's not that bad), but there was deffinatly less songs then I thought there were going to be!

    So, what was your opinion?

    Oh....and have I ever posted a topic on the Spongebob boards before?

    while it is not the worst episode ever, i hated it.

    here is the three main reasons why i hated it:

    a)the songs were god awful. they were poorly written and they were extremely unnecessary. and here is something else. why did lord royal highness not get a song. the guy who voiced him is david bowie. he is a famous singer who has a great voice. instead we get, the six main stars singing about what they love the most, blech.

    b)the patchy segments. this has got to be the worst use of the patchy segments EVER. they were so stupid and made absolutely no sense whatsoever.

    c)the supposive climax that wasn't. spongebob and patrick pop the bubble. the atlantians chase after them. sandy uses each of them to knock out the guards. plankton aims a cannon at them and it turns out to be ice cream. those five minutes were incredibly dumb and so anticlimatic. and to replace the bubble, they use plankton? how does that solve anything? it felt like i was riped off for an hour. this was a cheap shot to me and i felt betrayed. if anything positive i liked, i did enjoy the whole museum scene. i laughed maybe two or three times.

    RATING: 2/10

    I haven't actually seen it with the patchy segments, so I can't actually judge it by that

    i will keep this as short as possible. while i have grown to like atlantis squarepantis a little bit more, i still hate this episode. at first i gave it a 2/10, but now i will give this a 3/10.

    squidrob has nailed every point about why i do not like this episode. i especially hate the singing. that is the main thing that ruined this episode for me. the songs were indeed lazy and uninspiring and i really wished that they gave david bowie (aka lord royal highness) a song to sing.

    it could have been about welcoming them to atlantis or at least anything. his song would have been more interesting then about what we already know. which was, spongebob loves bubbles, squidward loves art, sandy loves science and karate, mr krabs loves money, plankton loves weapons.

    plus, gary should have had a song too

    This episode did so poorly. It was so rushed! And the plot was so stupid! Spongebob and Patrick pop a bubble and they get attacked?!
