I don't mean to sound offensive or anything but what do the forums you put up have anything to do with TV.com?

we should respect "what type of shows we like" and what others like

there would be some who go for the "adult humor" in cartoon as in simpsoms, south park, futurama and others

others like the "normal situation humor" like king of the hill, wait till your father comes home(I know my classics) or the "in betweeners of "realistic with fantastic situations" as Flinstones and jetsons

some like the "battle type" where the protagonists are trying to be better than others as in Pokemon, ran-ma 1/2, dragonball and such

the card based ones, like Yu gi oh and such

there are the "warriors storyline" driven such as inuyasha

the powerful girls ones like power puff girls, sailor moon and such

the science fiction style of adventure, like Buzz lightyear, spaceghost, voltron and such

the "super hero" type like teen titan, batman, spiderman, x-men, superman, aquaman, gargoyles and such, even ones like Ducktales and others from the "disney genre"

the silly comedy ones, like sponge bob, ed edd and eddie, fairly oddparents and such

the kid's everyday life, like hey arnold, recess, all grown up, and such

the "imaginary ones mixed with real life", like rugrats

the "extraordinary SITUATIONS" like TKND, code lyoko and such

the straight adventure ones like Danny phamton, kim possible, jake Long

and many others

avatar is kind of unique, it is like a combination of jake long or danny phamton with the trilogy of LOTR or harry potter, so it is more likely to have a fan base that involves more demographics

al of them are unique, there might be some who only like very specific type of cartoon, some who like various, but not all of them, some who like almost all of them

some who enjoy not much plot, others who enjoy a highly amount of plot and storyline

and actually you should look at the "silver-lining" of so many avatards coming here

it means that your forum has become "more active", and usually the TV-com moderators(not editors) will put a lot of attention to "how much activity" is in each forum to "know" which ones are the "most popular"

I am sure there are COUNTLESS people who are fans of "the thornberrys", but that forum has not much activity because that progam is not shown much anymore at all

1. Did you just imply that avatar fans "know" that SB is better? Because you're making the 2 same mistakes that all SB fans always do:

a. No SB fan has EVER been able to or even tried to explain why SB is better than Avatar, you people just keep saying "No, it's teh best.".

b. SEVERAL avatar fans have explained why avatar is better than SB, but you people keep saying "Well, why is avatar better?".

2. You seem to think that avatar fans are responsible for ALL the trolling and flaming on the boards, but there are several SB fans who act like idiots too. However, YOU PEOPLE THINK EVERYTHING IS OUR FAULT! If you don't believe me, I will be happy to find you some examples.

Well this whole fight should be over by now, but if you are curious, I will tell you some things that fans love about this show so much.

First of all, as you expect, the humor. At least in the first three seasons, it isn't a show where they throw a bunch of kiddy jokes smack in your face. There are plenty of clever jokes. For example, one way of making a joke very affective is by acknowledging the fact that it doesn't make sense. Like in one example SpongeBob suddenly pops up at the cash register and you see Squidward look around, asking how he did that. Also, there are hidden jokes that go over the minds of children.
Another thing, and one of the most important traits a show must have, is lovable characters. Really, if a show has a great plot, but boring characters, then more than likely I will not be entertained by it. However I can understand why some would not like SpongeBob himself. He seems like the character that, if you don't love, you hate. Many people get attached to his character, while others will find his laugh and other traits annoying.

Those are just a few things. Now they don't neccessarily make this better than Avatar. That comes down to opinion. People will prefer the compelling story and action of Avatar, while others would rather get a laugh out of the talking sponge. Usually I go for story, but I have gotten so attached to SpongeBob over the past 9 years that my pick goes to him.
