I have two questions for this thread.

    1. How likely do you guys think it is for the creators to create a new movie in the theaters?
    2. Do you PERSONALLY want to see a new movie in the theaters?

I don't think it'd be that likely, but I think it's still possible. As for personally wanting to see it? I'd love to see a new one, as long as it has an interesting plot, if it's about Plankton stealing the formula again, then I'll pass, I'd like to see one of the video games turn into a movie, personally

I don't know how likely it is that there will be a sequel...I'd say if the writers feel like it, they will, and if not they won't. But, I would LOVE to see one if they did!

I think it would be cool, but theres hardly any chance it will be as good as the first one...

    This.

And the movie was a very good ending for the series, in an excellent chronological place, so leaving it as it is would be the best option.

That's true but I think it would still be good. Besides, it's been almost 5 years since the first movie, I think they should consider making a new one soon.

    1. Not very likely

    2. I really don't want them to make a new movie, because I'm afraid they'll mess it up.

To contribute to this point more than in agreement:
Spiderman 3, X-Men 3 and X-Men Origins: Wolverines, Star Wars Phantom Menace-Return Of The Sith, Superman 4, etc.

I think there's a 6 out of 10 chance they'll make a sequel considering Spongebob's fame and ratings are still going strong, probably even stronger than when the first one came out.

Now, do I want them to make it? Of course I do! Specially because I never got the chance to watch the first one on the theatres and it's today one of my favorite movies. But I'm afraid they won't be able to make a very successful one unless Stephen really gets into it and they work their azzes off to make it as awesome as the first one. Now that I think about it, there are less chances of something like that to happen.

I don't think it's very likely; it would be too much of the risk, seeing how pretty much everyone who worked on the spectacular first movie (and the classic 3 seasons) have left to work on other projects. I personally wouldn't want them to make a sequel if it's going to turn out like a season 4-7 episode, with a 100% G rating and humor. If they do, they need to try to bring back all the old writers. I'm sure they'll agree to come back and write for one last time, unless they have a strict contract with Cartoon Network or something.

I doubt it would happen too, but i would like to see one however only if it were as an end the series like the first one was supposed to be.

By successful you mean "well recieved" right? This is still SpongeBob Squarepants we're talking about. The creators will basically be picking money off trees. The question is if fans will like it.

That actually could happen, if Disney can do it with their movies (at least where I live) Why can't Nick do it with this movie?

Yea, by successful I mean as good as the first one.

I sort of heard that too, I think they're doing it this summer? Not very sure, but I would go watch it even if I've seen the movie over 20 times

Nah, I highly doubt they're going to do that. It wasn't that much of a masterpiece, even though it was to us SpongeBob fans.

Cuz Disney is near Microsoft in profit (exagerating of course) they're much much MUCH richer than Nick, they can do anything, just look at HighSchool Musical, The Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montanah, Disney makes them profit machines with no dificulty.

    1. It is not likely that the creators will make a sequel, even though the movie did very well, no Nickelodeon Movies based on TV shows have gotten sequels, except Rugrats. If SpongeBob were to have a sequel, it would probably be a direct-to-DVD release.

    2. Of course! The first movie was amazing!
