In regards to inter-species relationships, these characters could be ****fied as "furries" and in the world of furries, species is like race. IT DOESN'T MATTER. When in doubt, turn to the icon of all furry Dom, Sonic the Hedgehog. In the SatAM his girlfriend is a ground-squirrel (a rodent related to the chipmunk) and Sonic is a hedgehog (obviously) and NO ONE SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THAT! In the Archie Comics Bunnie Rabbot and Antione are a couple and that's interspecies! In the case of cartoons, it is necessary to SUSPEND REALITY (and in Spongebob there is a LOT of suspension of reality) so on that note, I believe interspecies relationships CANNOT be an argument.

SEASON ONE =

Tea at the Treedome:

Their first meeting, they got on straight away. Spongebob attempts to save her from the giant clam. (1) "I like you Spongebob, will could be tighter than bark on a tree" says Sandy "Huh, I like you to Sandy replies Spongebob. (2) Spongy asks Patrick for advice & Patrick tells him how to be FANCY. Spongebob acts like it's a date, Flowers. Even when he is drying out, he tries not to let it show. "You know, you're the first sea critter to ever visit" says Sandy "I can't imagine why" relies Spongebob. When he is about to leave due to lack of water, her voice plays in his head (1) followed by Patrick's advice (2) which also includes, some romantic music in the background. "I don't need water, water is for quitters" shouts Spongebob. The way Sandy looks at him, when she asks "So tell me about yourself, it must be fascinating being a sea critter" Even Patrick gets involved near the end "Don't worry buddy, I won't let you blow it"

Ripped Pants:

Has usual Spongebob is making Sandy laugh & girls like it when boys make them laugh. Larry then ruins it, Spongebob is clearly jealous, not so much of Larry, but of what Larry can do (that Sandy enjoys) and Spongebob doesn't feel he can participate. When you have a crush on someone, you like to do the things they do to feel more connected to that person. Spongebob is down when he rips his pants, UNTIL Sandy tells Scooter how funny he is. During the surfing, play dead stunt, Sandy is seen with tears in her eyes. "She rather hangs out with Larry" panics a gutted Spongebob. He sings a song (See the link below) but this makes Sandy forgive him and it ends with a hug.

Sandy's Rocket:

"Won't Sandy be proud" says Patrick, giving Spongebob an encouraging smile. "When I bring her back an alien, ah she'll LOVE me" says Spongebob. "Or should I say, Miss Alien PANTS" laughs Patrick. "Boy, I can't wait to see the look on Sandy's face" smiles Spongebob.

Nature Pants:

When Spongebob decided that living with the jellyfish, wasn't such a good idea, he did two things. One, look through the Krusty Krab window & two; cry out Sandy's name, while looking towards her Treedome. Nobody else, just his job & Sandy. Spongebob always puts Sandy first, other than his job.

Culture Shock:

Sandy just makes a quick appearance at the talent show.

MuscleBob BuffPants:

Spongebob shows off (to Sandy) after his morning workout. After Spongy has visions of him having muscles, he has a dreamy look & SO DOES SANDY! "And for the LADIES, hairy" says the shark on TV, Spongebob whistles at this. He even rubs his anchor arms in Larry's face. Spongebob can't help but smile, because Sandy is impressed too. Sandy gives Spongebob that dreamy look again, while Spongy is exercising (tapping remote buttons.)

Squidward the UnFriendly Ghost:

Sandy is only seen at Squidward's, so-called, funeral.

Scaredy Pants:

When the Flying Dutchman was about to steal everyone's soul, even Sandy was really terrified and she cried out for Spongebob.

Karate Choppers:

I don't know if you ever noticed, but I always thought Karate Choppers was a parody of sexual tension between these two friends (e.g. the whole segment in the park about them trying not to mention/think about karate) Also, the fact that Mr. Krabs forbade karate made it all the more exciting and dangerous. That's a pretty big innuendo if I ever heard one. Karate is one, which is obvious. Another is that I noticed Sandy can make Krabby Patties, too! I wonder how Sandy got inside Spongebob's house while he was at work...Does Spongebob always leave his door open? No...We saw in the "Tattletale Strangler" that he locks his door when he is gone. Does Sandy have a key to Spongebob's house? It is possible...Maybe Sandy never left Spongebob's house after the previous night doing who knows what...I think there is a lot of innuendo in this episode. The link below will take you to an article (written in English) that can be found on Squiddi's forum. The article speculates that many of the Spongebob episodes may have suggestive content. I did not write this article and Squiddi did not write this article. Someone with a different type of mind wrote it.

Sleepy Time:

Apart from Gary, Sandy was the ONLY character Spongebob looked at, while in their deep sleep. My brother pointed out that before Spongebob entered Sandy's dream, the music was sweet.

Suds:

Spongebob could have easily asked Patrick to take him to the hospital. He decided to ask Sandy first, instead.

Valentine's Day:

She gave him an acorn Valentine, saying "I'm nuts for you" where Spongebob blew her a chocolate bubble, saying "I'm bubbles for you" But he does rely on her help in delivering his special Valentine Day balloon to his long-time best friend (a friendship that is close and long-standing is even more important than a CRUSH, or should be. So that's okay, that his Valentine Day gift was more thought-out) during that journey of delivering, after their talk on the walkie-talkies, Sandy says "oh that Spongebob" in a *that's so sweet* kind of way.

Texas:

When Spongebob and Patrick arrive at the Treedome again, Spongebob was about to knock on the door...it opened and Sandy's backside is sticking out, Spongebob, meanwhile, has a *eye opening* expression. You can see how sad Spongebob was; knowing that Sandy was going to go back home for good. While Spongy is insulting Texas & shaking his butt at her, she turns red with anger and embarrassment (as in, "I can't believe he's talking about Texas like that!") But, deep down, I guess it's all about point-of-view/interpretation.

Fools in April:

Sandy makes a cameo appearance, along with all the Bikini Bottom residents.

SEASON TWO =

Bubble Buddy:

Sandy left Spongebob a note saying "Spongebob, went south for the winter. Love Sandy" Thing is, why is the note only addressed to him, he-he.

Wormy:

Sandy introduces all her pets at the start (Spongebob & Patrick has to pet-sit) then leaves. At the end when Sandy catches the, so called "Monster" (her little pet butterfly) everyone in Bikini Bottom cheers loudly & Spongebob runs up to hug her.

Pre-Hibernation Week:

Sandy clearly wants to spend a lot of time with Spongebob in this episode and it was very sweet that Spongebob offered to give her all of his time he has not "...already sold to Mr. Krabs..." to her. Plus, he was helping her with her pre-hibernation chores. Not a lot of casual friends would do that. Spongy even acts like an adult around her, for example " Sandy you may not have noticed, but I is 100 per cent m-male* When he leaves her to hide under a rock it was not in shunning her, but in self-preservation (even sponge's need to rest!) and Sandy goes on a furious mission to find him. She is deeply concerned about his well-being and whereabouts! When she finds him she hugs him tightly, too tightly. Spongebob says "I am a man! (Holds up a razor)" & confesses to unhearing ears, that he can't play with her anymore because he can't take the games ("time for a down-home favorite! Find the hay in the needle stack!") But begs, "Say we can still be friends!" but once he notices she has fallen asleep for the winter, he falls asleep at her feet.

Christmas Who:

Spongebob thought Sandy's Christmas tree was fire & goes to her rescue. She tells him what Christmas is all about. So it was Spongebob & Sandy who brought Christmas to Bikini Bottom.

Survival of the Idiots:

While running to the Treedome, with Patrick, Spongebob shouts "Keep the tree warm Sandy." Why in the video about *Hibernation* did Sandy (when telling people not to disturb her) only mention Spongebob. When they woke her up the first time & she grabbed them, Spongebob put both his hands around his ... area. She got mad at Spongebob & Patrick for removing all her fur, but remember what Bob said "Don't worry Sandy, we've got you covered" This is the first of two times, they have got close (body) inside the Treedome.

Squirrel Jokes:

You'd think this would be the opposite of a lovely episode but you're wrong! Yes, Spongebob gets swayed by the crowd into making jokes about Sandy, but he does not realize the effect they are having on her. It is clear there is a communication break-down between the two of them. Spongebob tries to explain he doesn't mean anything by the jokes and she tries to explain that they hurt her feelings. She was the ONLY one who felt sorry for him & kept on smiling. Also, they hug back-stage twice. When SpongeBob visits Sandy in accordance with her note from backstage, he brings her flowers, even seems self-confident as he knocks on the door. During his last performance he tells the crowd "On my way over here I ran into a squirrel" then turns towards Sandy, winks & Sandy has a dreamy smile.

Pressure:

They were relaxing next to each other, watching the clouds go by, Sandy described it has a beautiful beauty. Spongebob acted manly "It's all about finger strength, baby" At the end, they both apologized for pressuring each other "Sorry I made you take off your helmet, Sandy!" And Sandy replies "Sorry I made you go up on dry land, Spongebob!" This was mainly focusing on just them, even though Patrick, Mr. Krabs & Squidward was there.

The Smoking Peanut:

Spongebob went to her to talk about the person that threw the tiny peanut, at the giant oyster (which was him by the way) but all he got was a negative response, to what she would do if she found out who it actually was. He made up an excuse "got to go cut my hair" and ran for it. This was replied with "Spongebob doesn't have any hair, or does he?"

Band Geeks:

Spongebob & Sandy were just part of Squidward's band.

Procrastination:

While Spongebob was trying to write a driving school essay, he saw everybody else outside, having a blast of a time. Patrick was even rubbing sun screen lotion on Sandy's back, he has a crush on Mindy though.

Sandy, SpongeBob & the Worm:

Rude title! Rude episode! Spongebob was really over protective, even shred tears. Spongy sounded like they were already a couple when he said "Let's forget about it & go home" Also, written on Bob's backside *Property of Sandy Cheeks* Spongebob & Sandy basically saved the day.

SEASON THREE =

Now I managed to find two pieces of clear evidence, that Spongebob indeed has got a future with somebody. Note that Sandy doesn't appear in neither of these episodes, but with all my previous research, it is easy to see that, it's a FEMALE. Number one *Club Spongebob* Spongebob asks the magic conch, if he would ever marry, it replies "Someday" Number two *Squilliam Returns* One of the tiny Spongebobs in Spongebob's mind cries "No, plz, I have three kids" Another thing that I did notice, Spongebob goes FEMALE, panty-raiding in *Mid-Life Crustacean*

Mermaidman and Barnacleboy IV:

Spongebob shrunk Sandy, using Mermaidman's secret utility belt. Just like the rest of Bikini Bottom.

No Weenies Allowed:

The plot is real simple, Spongebob trying to prove to Sandy that he was tough enough to get into the *Salty Spitoon* Spongebob would have never tried to get inside if it wasn't for Sandy. Also it is another good example of Spongebob trying to be a man; the title gives that away. During the beach scene, a lot of spoken lines struck me e.g. SB "And I won't do anything else" SC "Spongebob acting jumpier than a rattle snake in a pickle barrel, wait, what" SB "Elements of surprise" wiggles arms up & down, SC "Spongebob, are you ready?" SB "Yes Sandy, I'm most certainly am ready, ready to get it on" SB "Hahahaha, great minds think alike I suppose" has stunned face while flying, SB "I maybe down, but I'm not out" SC "Oh I'm sandy alright, I'm VERY sandy" she had him just above her head, while looking up. Spongebob was impressed by Sandy's removing tattoo trick. The rest of the episode gives off a rude image, by Spongebob trying to prove he's not a Weener "You can't hide, what's inside"

Spongebob's House Party:

This one has mixed views, but after watching it again, I'll stick to mine. The ONLY thing Spongebob cared about was how his party was going.

Mermaidman and Barnacleboy V:

Spongebob, Sandy, Patrick and Squidward join forces with Mermaidman to take on E.V.I.L.

The Great Snail Race:

Sandy is walking down a road, says to herself "mm, I don't know why, but I think I'll kick Spongebob's butt tomorrow" then at the end, she does. There is one theory that someone told me & I will go by hers. Sandy's reaction wasn't completely random. It was sort of a reaction (in a telepathic sort of way) to Spongebob calling Gary a girl to humiliate him as a motivational tool. It was as if Sandy sensed him bad-talking girls and decided she was going to kick his butt for it.... there's gotta be something there, if they are connected enough, for her to sense his thoughts.

I Had an Accident:

During the sand sledding, Spongebob did a little showing off, by doing a negative impression of Squidward. Even called himself an expert. Has a good friend would do, Sandy tried so hard to get Spongebob, to come out of hiding and into the outside world. Patrick and Sandy had to decide, which person Spongebob would most likely risk his life for. The person that Spongebob would risk his life for, would be the person that would be *attacked* by the gorilla. Patrick and Sandy agreed that the person, who Spongebob would risk his life mostly for, is Sandy. This is why Sandy was "attacked" by the ape. Spongebob did make an attempt, to save his two dearest friends.

Spongebob Meets the Strangler:

There were several, eventful parties at Spongebob's house, Sandy was just there.

Pranks A Lot:

When Spongebob & Patrick are caught out at the end, they find themselves naked, in front of a large audience. Sandy is amongst them and she whistles at the pair.

SEASON FOUR =

Funny Pants:

Sandy tries to help Spongebob, with his non-laughing problem.

Dunces and Dragons:

Spongebob takes on *Medieval* Sandy using Karate (Narrows eyes & smiles) "I know how to handle this" After the first attack, Spongebob acts grown up "I am bad, oh yeah! Whoo!" Sandy even says "Willst thou like a little rub down? Once defeated, Sandy says to Spongy "You have bested me, yellow knight. Strike quick and true, noble sponge" Spongebob's face really brightens. Upon waking up, Sandy's face beams "Thou hast spared me kind & noble sponge, and unto thee, I owe a debt of gratitude. For I will follow you on your quest to defeat Planktonamor...and learn a trifle of that karate"

Mermaidman & Barnacleboy VI The Motion Picture:

Sandy helps Spongebob make the Mermaidman & Barnacleboy movie.

Patrick Smartpants:

Spongebob goes to Sandy's for some professional help & spots Sandy and Patrick getting on well, his face drops & he walks home crying. While in his pineapple, Spongebob tells himself "How could I compete against genuineness?"

Squidbob Tentaclepants:

Sandy's brand new invention makes Spongebob & Squidward become one person.

Wishing You Well:

Sandy is one of the few citizens, who makes a wish at the wishing well *A microscope that works underwater*

Chimps Ahoy:

Sandy doesn't want to leave Bikini Bottom; she is pretty worried about it. Spongebob shows his full support, by trying to come up with an invention. Sandy sings a sad song with her guitar, declaring that the friends she has met will be missed the most & Spongebob is the only guy she normally hangs around with anyway. When talking to the Chimps, Spongebob doesn't say a bad thing about Sandy "Before Sandy showed up, I used to be a scrawny weakling" this implies, that she has made a impact on his life.

Karate Island:

While traveling to Karate Island, Sandy grabs Spongebob's chest, his face tells the story...that he liked it. Spongy acted hard, when fighting off those three tough guys. Before being crowned Spongebob says "Come Sandy, take your place next to the King" Once Sandy leaves the scene "Sandy's gonna miss out, big time" After Sandy says "Spongebob is the King of Karate, he doesn't need me. Ha he can handle this himself" Sponge screams the opposite. Master Udon even suggested they get a time-share plan together. After being rescued, Spongebob asks Sandy "I still have one question, though. Does this mean I'm not King of Karate?" she answers with "You are in my book, Spongebob. You are in my book"

Wigstruck:

Spongebob showed off his wig to Sandy, she laughed like no tomorrow & Spongy looked very proud of himself. They both went to *The Reef* to see a romantic movie. Sandy convinced him, to finally, get rid of the wig, but her words were touching "It's time to be strong" "You did the right thing, Spongebob" and she put her hand on him several times.

Squidtastic Voyage:

Spongebob, Sandy & Patrick help Squidward with his "Clarinet stuck in his throat" problem.

Best Day Ever:

Another SBxSC fan told me "As I watched I wondered what SpongeBob was planning to do with those adhesive, karate-gloves. SpongeBob planned to attack Sandy with those gloves, while she was not wearing her underwater suit. All those gloves do is stick really tightly to the surface that it is touching. Maybe SpongeBob was planning to have a special play date, with Sandy on his *Best Day Ever*..." The way Sandy thanked Spongebob for saving her Treedome from leaking, was special. When Mr. Krabs told Spongebob "Yep! And since you did such a good job, we wanna make it up to you!" Sponge questioned "You do?" while looking at Sandy.

If you have Volume One of Season Four, you can take a look at this in the special features section. Here is what happens. Spongebob notices on the calendar that it's Surprise Sandy Day. By traveling underground, he sneaks to the Treedome. Inside, Sandy is writing something on a piece of paper, and then all of a sudden, her front door opens & closes. She is startled by this, but when she turns around, there is a vase of flowers on the table with a tag reading "To Sandy, the Smartest, Prettiest Squirrel in Bikini Bottom. Signed, a Friend" Spongebob is on the top of the dome giggling, he slides down the side, runs, jumps & clicks his heels together. Sandy turns her head slightly, smiles and say's to herself "hmmm, I wonder who these are from..." but she knows, really.

I don't know if any of this is true or not, but a fan on Fanfiction said "Spongebob is in love with Sandy, whether anyone likes it or not. Here is the plot of the game, Plankton tries to distract Spongebob so he can steal the Krabby Patty secret recipe. Plankton tries to distract Spongebob by making King Neptune fall in love with Sandy. King Neptune decides that he wants Sandy to be his queen. King Neptune captures Sandy and takes her to his castle. SpongeBob goes to the King Neptune's castle to rescue Sandy before King Neptune marries her and tries to stop Plankton's plans.

* Spongebob's Atlantis Squarepantis*

A fellow follower said this. Atlantis Squarepantis for Gameboy Advance had some hints in it, too. For one thing, a whole level centers on Sandy being captured by the Atlantean guards (after staying behind and fighting them off, in what is the BEST mini-game EVER!!!) With Spongebob encouraging the others to help him rescue her (they were just going to leave her for dead) and once you beat the level, the cut scene shows Sandy smiling in a "My heroes!" sort of way. Also, you know how if you leave a Gameboy alone for awhile, the characters will start sleeping or dancing? Well, I did that whilst playing as Spongebob and Sandy. Sandy sat down and played her guitar; Spongebob put his head on her lap and went to sleep. I tried doing that again, but Spongebob just danced to her guitar instead of sleeping. Also, there are some little icons that look as though Spongebob and Sandy are admiring/wanting each other, BUT...those icons show up with other characters, too. So, this one doesn't really count.

*Spongebob's Secret Valentine*

Sandy tells Spongebob that she can't play catch, because she's making a Valentines gift. Spongebob assumes it's for him & wants to do the same back, even though Patrick tells him not to, because it would change everything. From his friendship with everyone else, to the connection between himself and Sandy. He finds out though, that Sandy's gift was for her mom, back in Texas. Spongebob gives his massive card to her anyway, but their friendship isn't affected. Ends with Karate!!!

On the back of the book, Spongebob is blushing because of the fact; that he has a KISS mark on his forehead!

Sandy is the person that kissed Spongebob. Here is why...Spongebob was kissed on his forehead. Sandy is taller than Spongebob so it would be easy for her to kiss him on his forehead. Even though Spongebob's grandmother is also taller than SpongeBob, the kiss cannot be from her because she wears pink lipstick. In addition, Spongebob does not become dazed when she kisses him...in fact, he dreads being kissed by her during the episode "Grandma's Kisses" Pearl also wears pink lipstick and her lipstick is heart-shaped, so she is eliminated. Why would Patrick, Squidward or Mr. Krabs want to kiss Spongebob? Squidward is repulsed by SpongeBob. Patrick appears to be straight, because he liked Mindy. Mr. Krabs is straight, because he liked Ms. Puff. This kiss is not from Spongebob's mother. Spongebob would not have hearts surrounding his body after receiving a kiss from his mother. You have to consider the context of this image. The kiss is from Sandy because "Spongebob's Secret Valentine" is a SBxSC story.

*Gone Nutty!*

Information supplied by somebody else! This Spongebob book, a cine-manga called gone nutty, describes Sandy Cheeks with the following words "A thrill-seeking squirrel, who loves Spongebob, as much as she loves extreme sports"

One screensaver is particularly noteworthy, because it shows an image of Sandy receiving a special heart-shaped present from Spongebob.
