Well, you just have to see Neptune's Spatula, it was supposed to be the greatest fry cook ever, right? So that means that's SpongeBob. As for Jim, I think Mr. Krabs is just a jerk that doesn't deserves SpongeBob and can't see how great of a fry cook he is. Maybe he likes Jim better because he is rich.

... or... perhaps Jim was just plain better than SpongeBob.

I believe you guys are just thinking too much, and are making a big out of a small event, while ignoring the facts stated: Jim > SpongeBob.

Besides which, King Neptune said that only a worthy fry cook could pull it out, not "the greatest fry cook".

Jim was just a perfectionist, and SpongeBob is to some degree, but Jim just takes it to a whole different level and I think it is somewhat exaggerated that he was the best. I mean, if that was the case, he wouldn't have just had an appearance in one small episode.

Pal, this isn't even an argument. It's just you denying the blatantly obvious.

It is flat out stated that Jim is better than SpongeBob. Accept it.

This is not a matter of fact, so much as it is a matter of opinion. Like I say, everybody is entitled to their own opinion. So, I'm not saying I have anything wrong with you believing Jim is the best, I'm just saying that because of the fact that we all love SpongeBob and Jim has never been mentioned before other than this one episode, naturally the majority of the crowd is going to say SpongeBob's better. Fry cooking is one of those things that can't be judged by fact, it has to be judged by opinion. There's no timer or score in fry cooking, or any cooking for that matter, that's going to tell who's better or not. It's all a matter of what the person thinks of the food.

You don't get it, do you? Why do you think they constantly note that Jim is the better fry cook in the episode? There is a certain level that fry cooks have because they are better than others. Mr. Krabs even said that SpongeBob has something going for him, and by all means it's not that he is the better fry cook.

I can give a list of reasons but I won't. Basically, I think it comes down to the fact that you are such a big SpongeBob fan and you want him to be the better fry cook. Sorry, I like him to, but let's stay realistic here.

Like I said before, when it comes to cooking it's more a matter of opinion. For example, Paula Deen and Bobby Flay are both great cooks on an equal level, but someone might like one chef's food better than the other's. So how about we just compromise and end this argument by saying that they are equal.

Alright, there's no point in arguing with you, because you don't seem to want to admit that Jim was better, when clearly he was. You're crazy if you think I will admit to being wrong without you proving me wrong. Unless you can give anything to prove they were equal, then I am done waisting my time here.

Ok, ok! Jim's better! Ok, are you happy now? Can we end this argument?

Now I'm putting us back on topic. Does anyone think SpongeBob ever will get better than Jim?
