This topic is to discuss the harsh treatment that Squidward has received by Bikini Bottomites and/or Spongebob and Patrick.

I don't feel sorry for Squidward because he has his good times. In The Original Fry Cook, he has a pretty good time as well as in Krabs a la Mode. His treatment of SpongeBob and Patrick, sort of foreshadows the fact that he'll get what he deserves. In Boat Smarts, he called SpongeBob a jerk and that's probably why he crashed with Mrs. Puff.

He didn't call him a jerk, he called him a fool.

I really need to watch that DVD again. The male fish called Squidward a "lunatic driver" right? Wasn't she named in Good Ol' Whatshisname?

I meant to put this in my first post on this topic, but Squidward's harsh treatment seems to have rose dramatically during seasons 4-5. I hated Squidwood because of how everyone insulted him.

Squidward isn't that bad, he puts a little humor in the show like when the accedintaly rode his bike of a cliff and he caught on fire

Or when he was flattened by those spikes in "Boat Smats".

You know, in the old days (seasons 1-3), whenever Squidward got bad treatment, it felt like ge knew what was coming to him. If he had just listened to Spongebob and Patrick in the "Camping Episode", he wouldn't have been attacked. And other times, it felt like he definitely deserved to be insulted and yelled at, such as in "April Fools" when he humiliated Spongebob. But nowadays I just feel sympathy from him. I mean, you wouldn't want to be in his situation in episodes like "Good Neighbors" and "The Thing", now would you?

In "Squidwood", if he had played with SpongeBob, then he would have gotten attention. In "Good Ol' Whatshisname", if he hadn't been so obsessed with winning, he would have never gotten in jail. Had he not been so rude to SpongeBob and Patrick in "Good Neighbors", the Good Neighbors Society could have been disbanded and he wouldn't have community Service.

He gets exactly the same type of treatment that he did in other episodes.
