    not true

In a way, iheartperry is right. Spongebob Squarepants is Nickolodeon's most popular show of all time. No matter how many people complain, it will still rake in money. Most of the people who complain about Spongebob's quality are old school fans who have watched it either when it first debuted or in it's "glory years". Most children don't understand the fact that Spongebob's quality has declined and more kids watch it now than ever because of it's increasing popularity. For example, Atlantis Squarepantis drew in 8.8 million viewers, the most it's ever gotten and I'm sure a lot of us consider AS to be one of the worst, if not, THE worst SBSP episode ever. Plus, look at the KCA. Spongebob Squarepants is a five time award winning show for Best Cartoon and won it for four straight years ever since 2003. No matter how much the show has declined and lost it's flavor to those who can have nostalgic accounts of their best, classic moments, Spongebob Squarepants will never go downhill as long as the kiddies enjoy it. All that matters to them now is someone getting hit on the head with an anvil or potty humor instead of sophisticated, clever jokes and semi-adult oriented innuendos which makes cartoons epic classics. So in short, as long as the kids like it, Spongebob will never die. We had our time and now they have theirs. It's as simple as that.

The amount of people that watch doesn't equal how good or bad quality is. I've been saying the show's been going downhill, I still watch it, but only mainly for nostalgia, at least for the older episodes. I still enjoy them, but I hate almost every new episode nowadays, at least in s6. In s7 I'm beginning to like it more. But still, the amount of people that watch doesn't affect quality

Then there's only one solution: keep kids preoccupied with something else to do at all times Spongebob is on, re-run or new episode

Hahaha this is true. No matter what episode is on, kids wont be able to resist watching it.

We started watching Spongebob probably when we were kids {anywehre from probably 6 to up}. Now, we have younger cousins, or younger siblings that watch it. Then our older cousins or someone has a child, and they like this show. Then someday we all have kids and THEY watch it. Then our grandchildren will watch it 40+ years in the future... still new!

That tears it, my children are NEVER allowed to watch this show

In the future, the show will probably have a setting where everything is chrome because just like SpongeTron said, "Everything is chrome in the future!"

I wonder what will happen to Spongebob cause think about it. When the Simpsons debuted they were hilarious and fresh. Now the show is still going but not fresh because it has almost 450 episodes. If that happens to Spongebob, who knows what'll happen. Because the show is so popular, Nick will squeeze every little fresh episode out of it and then continue getting horrible episodes.

Ho ho ho, the show is not not going fresh BECAUSE it's lasted that long. That's like saying "This show isn't good anymore BECAUSE it has lasted over 300+ episodes." They're not "Fresh" anymore because they simply aren't as funny as they used to

Yeah that's what I'm saying. They have so many episodes on The Simpsons that they are reusing jokes and the show isn't fresh anymore. I'm not saying this about Spongebob but like someone else said, kiddies will continue watching it. So with the simpsons, more kids are discovering it for the first time and the show is still getting a large amount of viewers even if the episodes aren't funny and the plot isn't original. I'm saying this may happen with Spongebob.

[/QUOTE]Exactly. In the beginning, the humor was simple and funny. Now it seems like the writers are trying too hard.

The writers are now trying to make as laugh every second, like Family Guy {and I loathe Family Guy just for the record}. They care more about how many jokes they can cram down our throats rather then the actual plot

No I wasn't talking about Spongebob. I was talking about how The Simpsons are about to crash. Spongebob is still going strong but if it continues to go strong, it will mean more episodes. And what happens after they run outta fresh and funny episodes? They end up in the same spot the Simpsons are in now. They have 400+ episode right now because they went on strong until they had no episodes. But there are new watchers who didn't watch the earlier episodes so these new viewers will tune in.

I too was talking about Simpsons. And Spongebob's only going "slightly strong" IMO, good episode sometimes, bad others, kinda like The Simpsons have been doing... for 10 years. There are still some people that love every single Simpsons episode, but almost all of them are new fans {including me, but I don't love every episode}.

I REEEEEEEEEALLY hated that episode. It was basically nine minutes of talking and one and a half minute of action. Plus, WTF was with Spongebob kissing Squidward? That really didn't help Spongebob's reputation.

True. Sometimes I wonder why Spongebob acts so weird. I mean yeah it's a cartoon but he's so so girly sometimes.
