SpongeBob: Destined for Fall? Nicks 10 year curse

    Avatar will end with the movie tomorow, if it gets another season that would be just great, nut I honestly don't care. Back to topic.

    Spongebob *sighs* I hope it never ends, and yes of course it will some day, but I see many more years for Spongebob, and I don't just say it because I'm a fan. If you check the Nielsen TV Ratings, spongebob is one of the fewest (if not, the only) cartoon to make it on the top 10 weekly, talk about a show that is ending popularity? yeah right, vieweres it's the only thing that counts, not to mention it's $4 billion dollars in merchandise. So yes, Spongebob is still up there. I give the show 10 seasons. I hope more, but I'm realistic too.

    Spongebob only hasd high ratings because its constantly on. Im a spongebobfan too, but for some reason, i just want the good ol cartooons back, hey arnold, rugrats, wild thrornberrys, rocket power, etc.

    Nick is just like Cartoon Network man! They have to move on. They can't let something like Rocket Power back. I liked the show and all, but every channel has to move on and leave their old shows behind.

    I think Spongebob needs to end! It's going downhill really fast. And the people saying Spongebob is for kids, NO IT ISN'T! Don't you see, the creator finally found out that more and more parents and teens are watching Spongebob now. That's why they made the show more of a "non-silly" kind of show. Yes, Spongebob will always get good ratings, but when people finally realize that this show has gotten horrible and it gets bad ratings, that is when they will cancel this show. The creators of SB better get there act together before it's too late...

    sometimes i feel that way too, like you just want to watch the old good series. nick probably knows what it's doing, though. i thought about this. Nick is this famous company. Around the world, everyone knows about their country's Nick. So Nick won't be ending soon, on the contrary. it'll find a new scheme, alright...something big....probably, a spinoff of Spongebob, another season of Avatar, or it'll bring back one of its shows, like Danny Phantom (i just don't know if nick didn't take it off, or if nick called butch onto FOP and they had to end Danny Phantom.

    but seriously, we shouldn't worry too much about nick, i guess. it'll be back soon, with a big hit and it'll be just like it was like in 2006-2007 before it cancelled most of its shows.

Ratings for that are top high, with the arrival of Poof and all. It was nick that even got the FOP members to create more eps, but even that is going to slim down soon. You can only do so much before BANG, everything falls. Disney Channel, Nick's rival, however, has Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana (which has stopped shooting), Cory in the House, and Life with Derek. Excluding Hannah Montana, all of the series are new. Nick only has Avatar, FOP, Spongebob Squarepants, The Mighty B, and most-likely ending Avatar. Nick is desperate for new shows and such. If the desperation got bad...Avatar would be renewed and Spongebob would get a spinoff, while the Mighty B would be kept alive. And then...Nick would have to find a new series to pick up (I heard Hank Zipzer series is requesting a show. Nick might pick that up).

    Now, do you see it?

    Disagreed with the bold. I always watch a new Spongebob episode when it comes on. I record new Avatar episodes and just watch them later.... Just felt like saying that.

    I agree with your philosophy, but I don't watch much Avatar. I basically watched the first season, and then the series finale. Long Live the Little Square Dude!

    Well guys, here's my full and honest opinion (believe me, this username is from 1999, I know what's happening).

    The first three seasons of SpongeBob were absolute gold. I think I speak for any other long-time SB fan when I say that those were what brought us to the multi-billion dollar industry that has soared Nickelodeon's reputation to the clouds today. However, I remember watching the premiere of "Fear Of A Krabby Patty/Shell Of A Man" (the beginning of Season 4), and I immediately had a bad feeling in my gut. I honestly thought that the fourth season would be the last, and almost thought the same for Season 5.

    But with the slowly increasing ratings and reputation SpongeBob has earned with (certain, not every [yet]) Season 6 episodes. I think after the few years of a creativity drought, the show is finally starting to get on society's good side again. Certainly it's not on the same track as it was originally, but it's improving. The new episode featuring Squilliam gave me a very good feeling about the future for our porous lil' pal. Perhaps the old writers gave the new ones a kick in the rear and helped them heal the injuries from Seasons 4 and 5.

    The show definitely won't end soon (especially with the already purchased Season 7), and I think we've got a long way to go with ol' Spongey. It's improving, and that's what I think at the moment.

    The only little itch I think the show has ATM is the supersized amount of chaos it has. Every 30 seconds I hear SpongeBob going "AAAAAAAAH!". I'm not saying I don't like it. It still brings good laughs.

    Long live SpongeBob SquarePants. =)

    well, i was wrong. most people do the opposite.

    They do so because avatar's commercial brakes are longer than spongebob's. so people tape them and skip over breaks. spongebob, they dont because everyone can wait long for spongebob breaks, they're not cliffhangers like avatar.

    Personally, I loved Season 4, but hated Season 5. However, I agree Season 6 is making up for Season 5s cruddy episodes!

    well season 6 is...different. spongebob's fame is very present in nick right now. so of course nick will make spongebob be good (they have their ways, you know).

    but i do agree the shows are beginning to get a little bit better.
