With a show like spongebob, that just shot virtually to the top, way top, to the point where it is being compared to rugrats and such, do you think an apparent fall is due??

I mean, Even the great rugrats couldnt keep it up, neither could rocket power, doug, or ren and stimpy. It seems spongebobs been getting less and less appealing, while its still the top show of today,

I give spongebob 1 year and a half, then he'll be truning 10 years old. I say that because rugrats too fell after 10 years on top. No other show made it past 10 years, and I dont think spongebob can do it.

its time for Spongebob to start hanging up his boots, and make way for the next big phenomon on nick. What do you guys think?

Are you sure about this. The Simpsons has made it over 10 years without getting cancelled. But I am giving Spongebob and Ed, Edd, and Eddy one more year each.

The only reason Nick stopped airing Rugrats is because the ideas the show could come up with were few. Nick would've gladly let Rugrats continue for many more seasons, but since there were not many more ideas Rugrats could think of, it had to be canceled. However, Nick gave the creators of Rugrats a chance to create a spinoff, which it did "All Grown Up." But Spongebob soon took the place of All Grown up, and All Grown up was picked up by other TV stations. Now Spongebob. Tons of ideas for this. From 1999, this show has been a hit and Nick proudly stood as the official airer of the show. Nick does not have many new shows coming up for air anymore, basically reruns, Spongebob, Avatar, and the Mighty B. Avatar will soon end, so Nick needs to cling onto Spongebob. This is why Nick delays so much before sending out an episode of Spongebob. When Spongebob finally ends, Nick will most likely give Spongebob a chance to create a spinoff, like it gave Rugrats. Spongebob will not stop until it needs to, basically, and Nick wants Spongebob to air for very long.

I suppose the real question is, Are the episodes of Spongebob about to get extremely lame as the show hits its 10th year of new episodes.

Enough with the flaming of Avatar. I got a little secret here. I am actually a part Avatar Fan. Even worse, I liked Out of Jimmy's Head too.

I'm 16 going on 17 in August, and I'm a huge SpongeBob fan. I don't want to see the show end any time soon, and in response to the kids getting older thing. That just means that the next generation of kids can grow up with SpongeBob, and the cycle continues. Long live SpongeBob.

Oh, didnt know that bit of info. Thanks. Good way of putting it.

SpongebobSp: I too, like sbsp, and wouldnt want it to end. But, I also liked rocket power, the wild thornberrys, as told by ginger, drake and josh, neds, and zoey much much more. And guess what, theyre all finished and cancelled.

It not that easy for a cartoon to pass down from generation to generation. Humor and appeal changes. I have 2 little cousins who do not like rugrats. I tell them i dont understand how thats possible, but it just doesnt appeal to them and their friends. They prefer sb much more.

Once nick kills sbsp, and another great cartoon ariizes, sbsp will end up like rugrats, a great, in its time. It will not survive like DBZ has.

SpongeBob is a $6 Billion Plus Television Icon. I see him going the way of Scooby Doo and Looney Tunes. A timeless classic, who is always popular, even after the show has ended.

Rocket Power ended after a movie (because Nick wouldn't renew it, the ratings were down. They allowed an ending movie). As Told By Ginger ended because, well, there's only so much you can do with such a series. Nick made it fade away, from airing new episodes weekly to epsiodes aired monthly, then an epiosde rerun airing monthly and after that...it stopped airing on Nick. Drake and Josh didn't end yet; if you go on their forums, on tv.com, the status is a returning series. Besides, it's ended because one of the main stars, Miranda Crosgrove, got up into iCarly. You can't manage Drake and Josh with a new series, as new series require alot of shooting because the episodes constantly air. Ned's made its own decision to end, after 3 seasons (although, Nick only allows 60 episodes, roughly 3 seasons, of episodes. It has to be picked up and renewed by Nick, but Nick thought Neds wouldn't get much further). Zoey 101....*sigh.* We all know why THAT show ended (if you didn't, type in Jamie Lynn Spears into google and you'll find out why.).

And another question, I tried out what DBZ could've meant...what is DBZ???

Well, here is how I compare Spongebob to other shows from best to worst:

Spongebob > Out of Jimmy's Head

    Spongebob = Avatar

    Spongebob < Chowder

    Ok, back to the topic.

DBZ= DragonBall Z, the single greatest anime ever , and that has withstood the test of time, 20+ years.

Yea i know about zoey. But also from what ive read it was already decided before the pregnncy to end zoey. Her being prego after was just a coincidence?? Yea sounds funny to be honest.

With a consistent plotline, Avatar would have to end after the big battle

Avatar i don't see getting a spinoff for some reason, it seems as if there's been spinoffs in the show... if you know what i mean

Avatar ends at 10:00 EST Saturday night, i'll be watching...

With a consistent plotline, Avatar would have to end after the big battle Avatar i don't see getting a spinoff for some reason, it seems as if there's been spinoffs in the show... if you know what i mean Avatar ends at 10:00 EST Saturday night, i'll be watching...

ill be watching, too...anyway its time for my big explanation (bear with me):

Avatar is one of Nick's greatest shows ( an opinion, a fact). I'm pretty sure that Avatar might get renewed for another season (which means, a new generation Avatar could have to cope with trying to learn Airbending after Aang, because all of the Airbenders minus Aang were wiped out over 100+ years ago). But it is a rumor, I'm pretty sure of that. Everyone wants Avatar to be renewed. The show is too great for fans to end in just 61 episodes. They need more, and Nick wants more. The creators will eb compelled to create another season...

And Zoey 101 was decided to be on hiatus, not sure if they should continue with the series. Jamie's pregnancy just supported the ending. Haven't you noticed that in just barely 2-3 episodes, Chase and Zoey get together (or, since I don't watch the series, whatever happens...happens)? They planned on making a couple more developing feeling episodes, but couldn't as they had to rush the ending.

Avatar is not one of nicks greatest shows. Avatar is on nick when its down, and getting worse. Another airbender?? Quite frankly, id say im an average fan of avatar. Yeah i know the basic things about the show, i tune in here and there. Id have to say, i like aang personally. If another show came, and he and kira and her bro and momo werent there, i would definitely not watch it.

And THAT is what Nick fears. they dont want people to think, "if aang, katara, sokka, momo, appa, zuko, etc are not in the avatar series after aang, then im not watching the show." And so many people watch Avatar. Nick draws people's attention with Avatar, and use it to broadcast upcoming events on Nick, making fans of avatar be like "im gonna watch that." the truth of advertising...and anyway, when a new episode of spongebob comes out, people say, "eh! i'll just tape it and watch it later." But it's different for Avatar. No one tapes Avatar, everyone watches all of the episodes of it, because avatar just does that to people.

Anyway, spongebob will live on in long-waiting episode premieres, more seasons, and lastly, if all else fails, a spinoff. The question is, what happens to nick after that? Avatar will be ending on Saturday (and Avatar is one of nick's top-rated shows). After Spongebob ends, there is still Fairly Odd Parents. Ratings for that are top high, with the arrival of Poof and all. It was nick that even got the FOP members to create more eps, but even that is going to slim down soon. You can only do so much before BANG, everything falls. Disney Channel, Nick's rival, however, has Wizards of Waverly Place, Hannah Montana (which has stopped shooting), Cory in the House, and Life with Derek. Excluding Hannah Montana, all of the series are new. Nick only has Avatar, FOP, Spongebob Squarepants, The Mighty B, and most-likely ending Avatar. Nick is desperate for new shows and such. If the desperation got bad...Avatar would be renewed and Spongebob would get a spinoff, while the Mighty B would be kept alive. And then...Nick would have to find a new series to pick up (I heard Hank Zipzer series is requesting a show. Nick might pick that up).

    Now, do you see it?

first of all, hannah montana stopped shooting because they are making a movie that comes out May 2009, but after they are done with that they are going back to filming episodes for season 3. secondly, life with derek has been around longer than hannah montana.

now as for nick, who said avatar was ending? avatar is also getting a live-action movie. the fairly oddparents are getting another season as well. Spongebob is getting a seventh season, so it will make it to 10 years at least. The Mighty B really sucks so hopefully it ends up like another overhyped nick show that has been cancelled (I am referring to you Mr. Meaty). Luckily for Nickelodeon, I have heard that the Madagascar penguins are getting a television series. With all those listed shows (minus the hopefully cancelled Mighty B) who says Nick can't survive their current creativity drought.

Okay! Look; let's just say that Spongebob will end one point, and, well, it can't end because of the conset little kids. It's just... if it... everything has ta end at some point. That's it.
