Getting tired about hearing about Spongebob dvds? Third time this month!

Firstly released this year was Spongicus, which included the title episode, "Spongicus", as well as 7 other bonus episodes and featured a character art gallery as a bonus feature to kick off the year, released on January 27.

Also released this year was SpongeBob vs. the Big One, which had some particularilly good bonus features-- character commentary and a music video, plus the title special, "SpongeBob SquarePants vs. the Big One", which was available here before it was aired. it aired just recently, guest starring Johnny Depp, and the DVD is available now, and has been since March 10.

As noted before, we have To SquarePants or Not to SquarePants, which is a single-disc, 8-episode DVD, to be released on July 21. "To SquarePants or Not to SquarePants" is an episode that will air on July 17, the 10-year anniversary of the show, after a 100-episode marathon, similar to the one in celebration of "Best Day Ever". However, this episode was not created especially for the 10th anniversary. Rather, "The Great Escape!", as it is tentatively called, is. The release will feature a character art gallery.

But now, this new article reveals another single disc release, Truth or Square, which will have 6 bonus episodes. This is more than likely a new title for "The Great Escape!", whether or not it is a promo title or an actual title. I figure this because of the release date, November 10, but only time will tell. No bonus features or packaging have been announced for this release yet.

Revealed earlier this month was SpongeBob SquarePants: The First 100 Episodes. However, even though no packaging art has been released, a logo has been designed for the set, along with more information being revealed. The set will include the complete seasons 1-5, going by episodes and not segments. I suspect that it will have about 16 discs-- 3 for each season, and a bonus disc. The bonus disc will include all bonus features from previous releases, along with all-new audio commentary and character art galleries. Another feature is said to be a clip show with a brand new song. It will be released on September 22.

This does not necessarily mean that SpongeBob SquarePants: Season 6, Volume 1 will not be released this year. It is just not confirmed for a release date yet. If not this year, than likely next year January or September-November. More information will come as I have it.

It's cheaper just to record all the episodes on TV.

More DVD news about the Box Set of 100 episodes? While that Box Set sounds great to have for an enjoyment of 100 episodes, the porblem is it's price, why pay that much for them when you could just record all of the SpongeBob episodes known to man on one or more tapes in your DVR?

The only thing is that you wouldn't get the special features if you just recorded them, which are usually pretty awesome. Like on the season 1 DVD, that one has the best special features EVER! It would be cool if the 100 episodes DVD has awesome special features, but deep inside I hope not, that way I won't force myself to buy it

I have all the SpongeBob boxsets so there's no need for me to buy the 10th Anniversary DVD this year. With it, I can enjoy all of the SB episodes whenever I want until the next box set comes out on DVD in the near future.

    Fear of a Krabby Patty
    Where's Gary?
    Lost in Time
    Karate Island
    Season 4: Volume 2
    Friend or Foe?
    Bikini Bottom Adventures
    Atlantis SquarePantis
    To Love a Patty

This topic isn't old yet, and I figured someone should respond to SpongeSebastian's question.

    I own:
    -The Complete 1st Season
    -The Complete 2nd Season
    -The Complete 3rd Season
    -The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie
    -Season 4: Volume 1
    -Season 4: Volume 2
    -Season 5: Volume 1
    -Season 5: Volume 2

SpongeBob SquarePants: The First 100 Episodes won't be released until 9/22/09. Until then I am debating whether or not I should sell my season sets for it. If selling them together comes out to around $130, as I predict, then I think it's a good trade. Although I can't be totally sure.

My advise: don't sell them! I have a good feeling that the special features on The Firt 100 Episodes DVD are going to be a rip-off. Unless, of course, it is announced that this box set will include all of the same features the season box sets included and more (don't buy it if it only has the Tom Kenny commentaries), then you should sell the others and buy this one.

Once it is released, I will ask other people about the special features. Then I will make my decision.
