For the fun of it, let's try to put the episodes in order in which they could have happened!
I will start off...
In the beginning, there was an open stretch of ocean, reaching across the world. As time went on, plant life and animals inhabited it. In the early days, before the different races of water animals united, there was no order, just animals rooming and doing whatever it takes to survive. Among these animals were sea sponges and starfish.
Squidward Tentacles, an inhabitant of the future, suddenly appears in this era in a time machine, carrying an object called a clarinet. He meets a starfish and a sea sponge who continue to bother him, and inadvertently invents the sport called "jellyfishing". He plays his clarinet and, after they chase him, returns to his time. Nothing more is heard from Squidward (SB-129).
Years later, the races have united and are beginning to form civilizations. They are creating houses and such. The descendants of the sponge and starfish that annoyed Squidward live in a pineapple and a rock. Their names are SpongeGar and Patar. Among them is a octopus named Squog. After lightning strikes wood, they discover fire (SpongeBob B.C.).
Hundreds of years later the sea has reached the medival era. The land where SpongeGar, Patar, and Squog once lived has grown and extended for miles, and is known as the Bikini Bottomshire, rulled by King Krabs. There is a prophecy that a giant jellyfish controlled by the evil Planktonomor will kidnap Princess Pearl, then two warriors from the future will appear and save her. Then two people from the future, SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star, appear, and the prophecy comes true. The two then disappear (Dunces and Dragons).
Hundreds of years later, in Bikini Bottom, which exists under the Pacific Ocean, SpongeBob SquarePants gets his job at the Krusty Krab (Help Wanted). After getting his job, Mr. Krabs says that SpongeBob will begin his job next week, and that Mr. Krabs will send him the training video in a few days. While waiting, SpongeBob goes through a few experiences, like cleaning his front yard (Reef Blower), then meeting Sandy (Tea At The Treedome), then teaching Squidward about blowing bubbles (Bubblestand). After about a week, the video is mailed to SpongeBob, and when he puts it on, it literally takes him into the video, showing everything first hand (Krusty Krab Training Video).
Then SpongeBob comes to the Krusty Krab, with plenty of knowledge from the video, and begins his job. At first, his job goes nicely, though sometimes things get a little difficult. However his ability at making krabby patties gets better after many experiences, such as the challenge against Bubble Bass (Pickles). Afterwards, he does quite well for a while, but then something happens. Mr. Krabs nemesis, Plankton, tries to steal the krabby patty, his goal in life! SpongeBob saves the day and stops him (Plankton!). Later, Mrs. Puff is introduced, where SpongeBob is having trouble passing his driving test. He tries to cheat with Patrick's help, but ends up confessing (Boating School). Although his work generally goes well, things get harder when he has fights with Sandy, testing their karate. He gets so obsessed that it interferes with his work, however Mr. Krabs finds a way to make it help make money, by using SpongeBob and Sandys karate talents to easily make krabby patties (Karate Choppers). Later, Squidward must convince SpongeBob and Patrick that he's not dead, in an event where SpongeBob introduces the tale of the Flying Dutchman (Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost).
Soon, Valentine's Day comes, and SpongeBob gets Patrick the greatest gift ever (Valentine's Day). Later that year comes April Fools Day (Fool In April). Then, October comes, and SpongeBob and Patrick devise the ultimate scare for Halloween, only to receive a visit from the Flying Dutchman (Scaredy Pants). Finally, the year ends, and SpongeBob brings Bikini Bottom it's very first Christmas (Christmas Who?). In the new year, SpongeBob and Patrick try to go jellyfishing with Squidward, but fail (Jellyfishing). Then, SpongeBob and Patrick meet Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy (Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy). Now, SpongeBob is beginning to get to know the names of the guests in the Krusty Krab, in an event where Squidward ends up in prison for ten years (10 Good Ol' Whatshisname).
While Squidward is in jail, SpongeBob has more adventures without Squidward. For example, he tries to impress Sandy at the beach, but quickly learns that he must be himself to make friends (Ripped Pants). Then, SpongeBob takes being hall monitor too far and evens gets Mrs. Puff in jail (Hall Monitor), gets sick (Suds), hunts for treasure with Patrick and Mr. Krabs (Arrgh!), and misses a bus stop, landing him in Rock Bottom (Rock Bottom). However, his greatest challenge yet is possibly his battle against King Nepture IIIIX: to make 1,000 krabby patties. If he wins, he goes to Atlantis, and if he loses, gives up his job. Thankfully, he wins (not because he made more, but that his burgers are better). In the end, SpongeBob doesn't want to go to Atlantis and leave his friends, so instead he takes Nepture to the Krusty Krab to teach him how to make good krabby patties, before allowing Nepture to return to Atlantis (Neptune's Spatula). Later on, Plankton tries to bring SpongeBob to his side, but fails (Walking Small).
SpongeBob gets to go on patrol with Mermain Man and Barnacle Boy (Mermain Man and Barnacle Boy II), and then SpongeBob and Patrick want to buy a balloon, but instead of asking Squidward if they can borrow some of his money (though he's still in jail), they borrow it and it pops. They think they stole and run away from Bikini Bottom. But eventually they confess and learn that it's Free Balloon Day (Life of Crime). Later they go to visit Sandy during the winter, but she is hibernating, and when they go inside her house, it is a blizzard that they must survive (Survival of the Idiots). Then Garry goes to live with Patrick to get a cookie, then comes back (Dumped). Soon Mrs. Puff is tired of SpongeBob and tries to cheat to get rid of him, but ends up in prison (No Free Rides). Then SpongeBob becomes a Jelly Spotter, but turns it down (I'm Your Biggest Fanatic). Later SpongeBob does well in a comedy performance (Squirrel Jokes). Also, SpongeBob tries to get Gary to take a bath, but ends up taking one himself (Gary Takes a Bath). Then Plankton returns, and cheats at a card game, where Mr, Krabs bets SpongeBob's contract, and wins it. SpongeBob now must work for Plankton, but SpongeBob is too much trouble, and Plankton can't take it. Back at the Krusty Krab, with SpongeBob working for Plankton and Squidward in jail, Mr, Krabs must do everything on his own, and fails, which leads to him closing down the Krusty Krab. However, as Plankton gives back SpongeBob for being too much trouble, he reopens it, and the Krusty Krab is back in business (Welcome to the Chum Bucket). Patrick shows SpongeBob the secret of his secret box: a string, but in reality there is an embarrasing picture of SpongeBob at a Christmas party (The Secret Box). SpongeBob then must write an essay for boating school (Procrastination), and later must help Patrick with his parents (I'm with Stupid). Then SpongeBob prevents Mr. Krabs from misusing jellyfish (Jellyfish Hunter). Later SpongeBob competes with Patrick in the fry cook games (The Fry Cook Games).
Soon, SpongeBob fakes being a life guard (SpongeGuard on Duty). Later SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs think they killed the health inspector (Nasty Patty). Mrs. Puff then goes to jail again (Doing Time). Later SpongeBob gets into the Salty Spatoon, but trips on an ice cube and gets injured (No Weenies Allowed). SpongeBob and Patrick raise a baby scallop (Rock-a-Bye Bivalve), and then SpongeBob and Patrick go to boating school together (New Student Starfish). Later on, SpongeBob loses Gary (Have You Seen This Snail?). SpongeBob and Patrick go to a medival event, but then fall unconscious and wake up later, after going through a time warp to the medival era (Dunces and Dragons). Later Plankton tries to get close to Mr. Krabs mother (Enemy In-Law). Then SpongeBob gets a new boating school teacher, which is short lived (Mrs. Puff, You're Fired). Then SpongeBob and Patrick must help Sandy (Chimps Ahoy).
