this is just a forum to discuss the popular epi "Band Geeks". But first off, I want to point out something. some people have said this episode is overated and people just like it because of "Sweet Victory". I don't mind people discussing their opinions, but I have to disagree. Yes, I do like "Sweet Victory" and come on, who doesn't? I think Spongebob was the first show on Nick to use a real song. But there are a lot of otther good things about this epi, which I will now list:
Patrick getting beat up by Sandy (that scream of his kills me every single time )
Squidward actually wins in this epi
A lot of funny Squidward quotes (Too bad that didn't kill me )
Flag twirlers blowing up
and finally, Spongebob's egar face
Okay, now it's your guys turn. Discuss why you like or dislike this epi.

I think it's overrated too.
I am one of the people that overrate it.
I love it.

Of course this episode is overrated, people are in love with it, yes, it's a fantastic episode, but it isn't enough to be THE best (that's why Chocolate with Nuts is, I also think that's overrated, but that's a story for a different thread....) So, while I do think this episode is great, and one of my favorites, it doesn't have enough to be worship how it is...

This is my favorite episode because I am a self-proclaimed band geek and that made it even funnier.

"That guy didn't know an oboe from an elbow! Ha, band humor."

And Sweet Victory was great too. I have it on my iPod.

Band Geeks in my opinion is never overrated! Same goes for CwN.
Band Geeks is awesome! I love it when they are all trying to play instruments! And it had one of the most greatest endings ever! Sweet Victory! It also had these famous quotes: "Is Mayonnaise an instrument?" "No Patrick Mayonnaise is not an instrument." *Patrick rasies his hand.* "Horse Radish isn't an instument either."
Good quotes and funny lines make this a golden shining episode! While Christmas Who? is like Santa Clause's treasure chest!

I like this episode a lot! I don't see how it's overrated. Sweet Victory is a great song with this episode, plus it marks the first time Squidward has won!

Well, yeah it's overrated, but it is a very very good episode, good during the most of it, and then just ending it with Sweet Victory just like that, out of nowhere an epic song like that makes you get excited.

Band Geeks was a great episode, but I would have to agree that it was the "Sweet Victory" song that made the episode so popular. The episode seemed kind of short though. Sure, it had funny material, but I think they could've added a lot more (if they had the time). Despite this, SpongeBob's eager face, Patrick's fight with Sandy, and everything else still contributed to some of the show's classic moments. So it's not just the song that resulted in this episode being so beloved by fans.

I loved it! For one thing, it was funny. Another thing, Spongebob actually did something to help Squidward, not ruin everything.

Yeah, and although sometimes SpongeBob ruining Squidward's day all the time can be funny, this one episode where he actually didn't ruin it seems to be so dang popular.

It deserves all the hype though.

Absolutely fabulous, absolutely hilarious, absolutely epic, absolutely not overrated. This my second favorite episode on the show (only surpassed by CwN) this is why: - Awesome plot.
- Most memorable quotes ever.
- Introduces one of the best minor characters ever: Squilliam Fancyson!
- Squidward winning.
- Everybody on Bikini Bottom was on it, and they all helped, big time!
- EPIC ending, with epic song: Sweet Victory, which I love, and have two versions of it in my iPod! The episode version and the full song!

So, I think it does deserve the hype it gets from fans.

Even Chocolate With Nuts is overrated. OK, mistukigrl13 was referring to me when she wrote: "People think it's overrated because of Sweet Victory", so I admit, I was being a little dishonest, since I really do love the episode even if it didn't have Sweet Victory.
