So I just caught this on the Avatar Wiki, and it's really bothering me. It says that Tarrlok was born five years after Yakone's trial, which means he was born five years after Yakone had his bending removed. Yet, Tarrlok was still born a bender. This implies that "removing someone's bending" really only removes their ability to use the skill, not their innate possession of the gift. People who have had their bending removed can still conceive bending children. And yes, I know that it's possible Yakone had a child with another waterbender, but that doesn't account for the fact that Tarrlok inherited his fathers specific skill, the ability to bloodbend at any time. So, assuming that the ways Amon and Aang remove bending is the same, Amon's battle is futile. He can never remove bending from the world, unless he personally attends the births of all children forever and pokes them in the forehead real quick. Thoughts?
