So I just caught this on the Avatar Wiki, and it's really bothering me. It says that Tarrlok was born five years after Yakone's trial, which means he was born five years after Yakone had his bending removed. Yet, Tarrlok was still born a bender. This implies that "removing someone's bending" really only removes their ability to use the skill, not their innate possession of the gift. People who have had their bending removed can still conceive bending children. And yes, I know that it's possible Yakone had a child with another waterbender, but that doesn't account for the fact that Tarrlok inherited his fathers specific skill, the ability to bloodbend at any time. So, assuming that the ways Amon and Aang remove bending is the same, Amon's battle is futile. He can never remove bending from the world, unless he personally attends the births of all children forever and pokes them in the forehead real quick. Thoughts?

Ive been thinking something along those lines. I don't think bending is really in the genetics. THink about it look at MAko and Bolin they are brothers but they don't bend the same element. So I'm thinking while genetics play a role one can develop any kind of bending if they work hard to learn the moves. That wolfbat guy amon equalized said he went to a lot of healers but no one can reverse what Amon did to him so I'm thinking Amon is a kind of blood bender he targets particular nerves and damages them somehow that blocks out there bending.sorry I digress.

If Amon takes out the bending; benders won't bend no benders means no teachers if all the teachers are gone who will teach the moves to bend.

The ability to bend is related to the soul... I think that aamon's ability to take bending away is related to the spirits... remember that one who thief the people faces?.. i think that some of them may have a grudge against the living.. we all know that the avatar is the link between both world.. but as far as we saw in the show connecting with the spiritual world is not something exclusive of the avatars.

Futhermore.. Aang use the avatar state to seal the bending.. and we know that the avatar state is related to the spiritual world as well.

Amon's ability to "remove" bending involves bloodbending, so called it.

Never said it was permanent, but it took energybending to restore.

That's true, Korra has her bending restored by Aang and then she in return restores bending to Lin.

One parent could be from the Earth Nation and the other from the Fire Nation.

That's exactly it. Mako and Bolin come from a mixed family as Bryke stated.
