One thing I really admire is the Katara/Korra connection. Since Katara and Korra are both of the Southern Water Tribe, I thought there would be a connection between them. What a thrill it is to know they actually meet each other. Not only that, Katara becomes Korra's waterbending master, as well as Aang's. That's two Avatars, one waterbending master. Oh, Katara, you've been the waterbending master for two Avatars. That's quite an accomplishment for yourself.

Shame Zuko didn't get in on that action, who better to teach fire bending then a firelord?apparently some one else roughly Zuko/Katara's age was.

It's sad that Toph couldn't get in the action too!

At least training the Avatar stays within the Avatar family as far as airbending is concerned as Tenzin, the son of Aang and Katara, becomes Korra's airbending master, taking the connection even further.

Aang taught Tenzin, Tenzin is teaching Korra. Looks like it came full circle

If something is to happen to Tenzin then Korra may have to teach the fourth kid if they are an airbender, won't Pema be pleased

Hmm, a full circle would that Aang teach Korra, not his son.

Katara taught Korra how to heal.

I doubt she would of taught her bloodbending though, it's a dark form of bending that Katara likely didn't want to have to share with anyone.

I disagree Katara seems to really care about Korra. It could be she would want her to be ready.

There is absolutely no chance Korra knows bloodbending.

Katara taught Korra from 5-9. I really doubt that she would teach her that at that age!

But Korra lived near Katara her whole life. Katara learned how to bloodbend in an instant, so I would imagine it is more about understanding the concept of it and trying than someting that is difficult to master. And Katara should have taught Korra everything she knew about bending, she can not be a sheltered child forever.

This also makes Korra the first Avatar to have the healing ability, unless Katara also taught that to Aang.

I really doubt that some water bender didn't have it.

Yeah I feel some other waterbending Avatars might have had it.

Katara would have steered Korra away from it. Unlike the other upgraded styles, blood bending doesn't really have a positive aspect to it. It's more of a perversion of the art. You also have to remember that Katara hated the technique and only used it once of her own volition. She never tried to integrate it into her fighting. She also seems like the kind of person that would prefer to take the knowledge of it to her grave.
