Sorry for the misleading title, but I needed your attention. There is a big change coming to The Legend of Korra effective immediately. This Friday there will only be one new episode "The Terror Within". After this the show will no longer air on TV. Full details will be announced at San Diego Comic Con on Friday morning, but the final five episodes of Book 3 will be premiered online. No word yet on if this will be the case with Book 4. This comes straight from Bryan Konietzko

UPDATE: Episodes will be available on Nick.com, Nick app, Hulu, Amazon, Google Play, and Xbox.

    Schedule:

    Episode 9 - August 1
    Episode 10 - August 8
    Episode 11 - August 15
    Episodes 12 and 13 - August 22

This is worrying for the future of this show.

Not being backed by a network, will this mean the budget and therefore the animation might nosedive? Also, will there even be a 4th season?

I'd like to know what happened behind the scenesSurprised

Book 4 was confirmed two years ago. Studio Mir is already animating it.

I've found LoK's treatment to be weird. Nick only shows it on Friday. There is no chance to re-watch episodes on t.v. if you miss it on Friday. I remember A: TLA that they would show new episodes on Friday than airthat episodeon Saturday and Sunday giving people a chance tosee it again or watch it for the first time in case they missed it. Nick hasn't put any of the episodesup on On Demand either. I know the show has been getting low ratings, butI don't think they wouldtakethe show off the air and put it on the internet for that reason. It make more sense tohave the episodes air on t.v. and put them online. It feel weird that Nick had so much faith in this series that they turned it from a mini-series into a full blown series and now they're airing the rest of season 3 online. I hope Comic Con gives us answers and book 4 will air on t.v.

I can always watch Book 3 on the internet, so I'm OK with this move.

I'm not surprised that it has come to this. The show although it still has it fans probably doesn't have as many main stream animation fans as the original Airbender show. Still an interesting show.

Going to be a while till we actually see another good show come down the road in TV wasteland. Thanks to people who know nothing of the love of a show and only know the love of money. Tongue out

Not all that great, but at least the final eps of book 3 will air starting Sept 29th on monday and probably all week around 8pm eastern on Toon Nick. so if you still want to watch the show on tv like me, there is your heads up. Assuming nick doesn't change things at the last minute again...

I am quite happy about this as someone who was not aware of the sudden change in the programming. Now that I have a Smartphone, I can watch the Season 4 Premiere without using the one place in my house with Internet.
