    I'm not sure whether this was ever brought up on the forum before, but if you watch The Day of Black Sun Part 1 with the commentary turned on the creators outrightly dismiss Zutara and state that Aang and Katara were meant to be together, but don't take my word for it, watch the episode with the commentary.
