When Zuko asked where his mother is to his father, why didn't he answer?
I don't understand how it ended with Azula. She was so powerful and dangerous and it ends up with her chained up. Surely she was able to get out.
Nickelodeon (ended 2008)

I loved the unanswered question at the ending! I think that the mysteries of what happened to Azula and Ursa was a genius stroke by Bryke that I believe will play a huge part in keeping the fandom around for a while. Stories that leave questions unanswered are the ones that die. Avatar will never die!
Actually, I think that the two mysteries are related. My feeling is that Azula managed to get away, and she will be the person who finds Ursa, which will by how she begins to heal from her current strifes (at least, that's how it will happen in the fanfiction I intend to write about it).

Well, Iroh did escape during Day of Black Sun, so it was pretty easy to break out and beat up all those firebend-less guards. Kinda like what Bumi did as well.

I would like to point out something. Everyone seems to think that Azula is beyond redemption, but what about Iroh? Once upon a time Iroh was the firenation's greatest general. His campaign against the earth kingdom was almsot certainly an act of evil just as great as anything Azula might have done. During the flashbacks in "Zuko Alone", Iroh joked openly about burning Ba Sing Se to the ground, presumably after killing everyone inside. It required a great life shattering crisis to turn Iroh's life around (his son dying), but he was eventually able to find his way to redemption. Azula's life as the princess of the firenation is over - she has nothing left there. If she were to find Ursa, she may well be capable of starting a new life. It is no certain thing, but at the same time it is not out of the question.Mike and Bryan themselves said in an interview that they believed Azula was capable of healing. |

she's probably chained up for her own well being. and even if ozai breaks out he's defenseless he would easily be caught
