I keep having to think the Aang has to die so that the show will finally end. also partly because i believe with his death he will bring about balance back to the world

but then the avatar cycle would be broken. And next time there is a war or something like this, the world would be left in turmoil forever.

I think thats the whole point, the world will be at peace already. I believe the appaerance of the Avatar was to bring balance to the world. Think about it this way even if the Avatar is to be reborn again, the sequence in which he can be reborn is already broken. (water to earth to fire to air and again) there is no more airbenders for him to reincarnate. wouldn't his avatar be broken too

well...thats why aang and katara gotta get togehter...but are you telling me that there won't ever be a single conflict in the avatar-world ever again? That is completely unrealistic. I'm sure that within 1,000 years there will be conflict somewhere, in which the Avatar is needed.

of course there may be a war again in who knows how many years, but must the Avatar always be there to solve the problems for them. I believe the Avatar appeared to help prevent the possibility of one nation from completely annihilating the other nations like in the case of the fire nation now, hence the world can be in balance. if you think of it another way, there was nothing to confirm that the Avatar existed when the first humans appeared in the world, it could have been years later when the need arised that the situation was so bad that the Avatar had to appear to intervene

But a situation like this one could happen in the future, we don't know. My point is that the Avatar IS needed in the future. The Avatar has been around for thousands of years (as seen in the SAT) protecting the world, and will be needed in the future. Killing Aang would possible end that (if he actually is that last airbender). As far as when the Avatar first appeared, we have no idea. (interesting thought though...spin off idea!)
I don't want Aang to die but that is a great spin-off ...

world been at peace for 1000 yrs simple nomads like Char and Lily types BK2 ep2) learn to air bend through some other source "the flying weasel monkey .. who knows" Anyway airbenders slowly coming back then skadosh Water tribe attacks all water tribe people support the war except young 16 yr old princeses "Kai" who has been having these nightmares and was pulled into the spirt world by the 2 fish bam new avatar who has to fight heer own ppl and save the world

For some reason after watching the Southern Raiders, I had a feeling he would die.

I hope he doesn't he's one of my favorite characters. I'd be SO SAD if he did.

If Zuko's dying, Azula's going down with him. I think Azula will die like Zhao, and Zuko will reach for her, and she'll pull him down instead of pulling herself up. (Don't ask me where they're falling off, they just will! XD) As awesome as Zuko is, I think that would be a good death for him, especially after becoming "good". Probably won't happen, but if he dies it should be something similar to that so that at least his death will be admirable (kind of).

Hmmm ok if you think the Avatar is needed in the future so how will the missing link be fixed (airbenders).but what will his purpose be then if he exists in the future? is it only solely for 1 war? i don really get it as i feel the avatar is here because of problems people can't solve by themselves as in the case the sozin comet bestow too much power to the fire nation hence the avatar would be here to balance it.

actually one of my idea was that with the death of Aang in the Avatar state, he would finally release the previous thousand of reincarnated lives into the world. hence since they were previous avatar, they may know how to bend all 4 elements but not as great as a whole since they are now independent beings.

In this sense there will be no such thing as an individual element bender, but i believe each nation will still be unique since just because now they have avatar reincarnated kids does not mean they have to change their livestyles. i know it might not sound credible but its simply a thought of my way how the series should end, i won't be saying others are wrong since we all have preference on how the series should end.

also its nice to know when the first avatar appeared and the reason why he came and how he stuck to the job of saving the world for thousand of years. but the problem would be that we would have to backtrack a lot to when technology has not advanced so much in the current avatar series =)

    1.Have kids.
2.To balance the earth. That's always been the avatar's purpose.
3.NO. If the cycle keeps on going, for any war in the future that'll ever come up. So, lots more than one.

here's the truth: if Zuko's characterization as a tragic hero is to be fulfilled in the finale, he is destined to die. I can't type for beans on my iPod Touch, so check out Wikipedia's article on 'tragic hero' for info.

You do have a point...and he does have that rather large wound on his chest in the trailer...

all I was saying is that if Zuko is going to be a tragic hero, he's probably going to get a poetic but "permanent end," as Katara had said.

I think a couple of things could happen here, deathwise - please, no flames/criticism, these are my words, my opinions. I am not directing any slightly unpleasant comments towards anyone in particular, I am just writing what I believe will happen/venting against popular beliefs. So, here goes:

    1) Zuko could well die. Yes, it's sad, but we all have to realize that even though he was evil and turned good, that doesn't prevent him from dying - in fact, it makes it even more likely. You see villains all the time who have converted and then died trying to save what is the "true good." He's come to terms w/ a lot of the problems in his life, and sees the world as he was meant to, not blinded by his heritage/father's words/etc. I don't honestly care what anyone says, Zuko is one of the three people I believe to be on the chopping block for the finale.

2). Aang is another possibility. Yes, I know, you're all thinking "But it's a childrens'/younger adults' TV show! It's animated! They won't kill off a main character!" Well, wake up. They've referenced a handful of deaths throughout the plotline of the entire series, never shown any. Aang was even briefly dead towards the end of season two (the part where Azula blasted him as he was activating Neo-Avatar mode or whatever you wish to call it). So the producers have proven that they will allow a main character to die, for any length of time. My guess is, he'll die, but someone will use an unbelievably powerful magic to revive him, at the cost of that person's life. The Sun Warriors said that "Fire is life." - stop and think. Fire is life...so, could you revive someone using fire? We don't know. It's definetely a possibility. With that being said, I believe that if Aang dies but defeats the Fire Lord in the process, Zuko will Fire Bend him back to life, but by sacrificing himself. Yeah, that kinda ties into #1...I'm just making sure I get all of my ideas down.

3). Katara could also be a possible vict- "Wait, Lytek! R u retarded? They won't kill off the main char's true love! Ur stupid!"

Shut up and listen, please. This ISN'T Pokemon.

Anyway, this death will follow the same theory as the Aang death, except that when she dies, Aang and Zuko are both possible sacrifices to revive her. Aang has already hurt Katara once with fire, but now that he has the full understanding of it, he'll be able to use the maxim "Fire is life" to it's true potential, and restore her, while giving up himself (then, of course, we'll see a clip of 70 yrs in the future or so where she's old and in a village somewhere, and she sees the Avatar again, but [s]he doesn't remember Katara. Just a thought). Then there's the popular idea that Zuko will die, and why wouldn't he heal Katara so she could be with Aang? He's experienced love, he doesn't want it to be ripped away from his new friends by the hands of his father. So that's my idea there...looking okay, I guess...

    4). Sokka. "Wait...that's weird...why Sokka?"

Because Sokka hasn't had a truly major role in the show yet - yes, he's been there the whole time, master planner, jokester, warrior...and he can't bend water...or can he? We've seen no proof that he CAN'T bend, so why should we think that Nickelodeon won't pull a HP 7 (when Ron spoke Parseltongue, even though he had none of Voldemort's soul in him) on us? Why should we leave it out of the realm of possiblity? HE could heal Aang/Katara/maybe even Zuko, with some hidded power that we have, up to this point in time, known nothing about. He hasn't had to do much...he's not the Avatar, he's not a General, he doesn't have powers (that we know about)...maybe this is his destiny.

Ok, he could go two ways - either by doing what I mentioned above in 4), or maybe he blocks the killing blow from Ozai that was meant for Aang. Just thought of that.

Well, that's all I've got...what do you think?

lol that would be cool, but it sounds too cliche. They will probably do something random that nobody would expect...

i think your right about Azulas death, though. If she would die (I predict she will just get captured and/or go insane), she would bring it upon herself in a Zhao-like manner. Someone, probably Zuko, may try to save her, but to no avail.

So wait a minute, I remember hearing that someone was going to die. Was it Azula because of her craziness or something?
