Wait so did it really matter what side Zuko was on it was completely Win: Win

If he sided with FN then he'd come back a hero , the FN would win the war?? his life would return to normal and he'd eventually become the Firelord

but if he stayed with EK, then the Azula would be out of the picture (sorry she's not bad enough to take Aang,Katara and Zuko) he'd gain the trust of Iroh, Gaang and EK ...plus the Black Sun envasion would go forward which would end the FN ...and after Ozai dies then who is the only eligiable person (with the trust of EK and WT) that could take his place....duh Zuko

this is a very perceptive arugment...but given the creators lust for throwing us curveballs, it may not trun out like either.

Yea, I kind of agree with that, cause it makes sense. But given Zuko's luck in the past, I don't think it would be that easy.

And yea, if Zuko did decide to join the Gaang during the final battle, Azula definetly would have lost. Zuko's choice made all the difference in that battle. Whoever he sided with, that side would have won.

Zuko made the fall of Ba Sing Sai possible.
    *tear* Zuko, how could you...

I think Zuko making BSS fall is a GREAT thing!!

Anyway, I say it's Semi-Win:Lose. If Zuko joined the FN (which he did) he would have returned to his old MUCH MUCH MUCH better self and once again be a very great villain. BUT he betrayed Uncle. That's not good at all. If he joined the Aang Gang it would just be cheesy and forced. And Zuko wouldn't do what he's best at. Being the Avatar enemy.

Well, id Say it was a Win:Lose situation.... if he went with the Fire Nation, there may be a chance that his father wouldnt even want Zuko.... and who knows Azula might just take all the glory...

But if he went with Aang and The Gang, he could help them out and when the solar eclipse comes he could help take out the Fire Nation, when the war is over he could get glory....

But on the other hand, this may be part of Zuko and Uncle's plan... he could dig up things in the fire nation and help the Avatar.

Come on people, we all know the truth.

Iroh is always right about everything ever, ever ever.
In Zuko's fever we clearly hear the voice or Iroh telling him not to lisen to the blue dragon. Zuko's choice will make his journey much worse in the next book. Azula will stab him in the back quicker than the lightning bolts that she'll try to finish him off with.

He'll come back to good with Iroh's help with kinda makes me think they'll kill him off and it's Iroh's death that'll swing him to the good side. In fact Azula will kill him, frame Aang or Katara make Zujo believe and only when Zuko finds out after a while that It'll all majorly kick off.

*Sortof agrees* Iroh needs to kill Azula painfully slow while Zuko watches laughing.

As sadistic as it really is, I cannot WAIT to see Azula's timeley demise, I will CHEER from the top of my sofa when that happens. Then later when the episode has finished I will run into the street and start telling people about it.

If he joined GAang then season 2 would have had a happy ending ...but they already did that last year. And the cliffhanger route is better anyway

Also the show has had the Zuko and Aang storylines running parraelle for 2 years, it would seem pretty weird to just have everything focus on GAang all the time

however Zuko turning on FN at somepoint is envitable, they've made is mother "go away", banished him, given him a hideous scar, forced to him to become a fugitive, imprisoned his Uncle(mentor) ect..ect

so basically Zuko staying bad now is great (I can't wait to see how the scenes with him and Iroh will work next year)

but having not go good at all would seem to go against everything thats happened in the show for 2 years...at this point Zuko has more of a right to kill Ozai and Azula than Aang

oh and for Aangs Firebending teacher...well we can check Zuko of the list ...maybe Aang's friend Kuzon is still alive, otherwise he's outta luck

Teh pwnage ending: Zuko has Azula completely beat, outskilled and outfundamentaled, and he lets her go. Just completely in control, lets her go away.

ok that made no since...anyway its pretty clear than Zuko isn't strong enough to fight Azula by himself. Each time he's tried to fight Azula or Aang for that matter he gets his butt handed to him

(She and Aang seem evenly matched based on the fights earlier this year)

But come on if Aang,Katara AND Zuko triple teamed that B**** in the middle on a crystal cave with a river running through it (a place were Earth and Water benders have a leg up)she'd definatly go down

to the Topic Creator that's a very machiavellian way to look at things. What about the human soul? Don't just look that the end . Look that means to gain that end. Is he truly an honorable person by what he just did.

Zuko gets lucky in a battle against Azula. He gets better at fighting. He controls teh lightning, he redirects it. And he uses just well enough to beat Azula, but again, chooses not to kill his little sister like he let Zhao go multiple times, understanding that it'd mean nothing to him.

Actually if Zuko did join Aang and Katara in battle it probably still would have been a losing battle since the Dai Li are in Azula's control and would have showned up before the three could finish her.

nah Azula is tough but she just isn't strong enough to beat Aang, Katara AND Zuko.... she and Aang seemed almost evenly matched in "The Drill"

come to think of it Katara almost beat Azula until Zuko saved her...and once Azula went down the leadership of the Dai Li would have crumbled.

Even if they did show up Aang, Katara and Zuko could have taken them (GAang did fight off most of the EK army)
