Well well well Zuko choose the dark side ......... or did he, before anyone goes in to denial i would like to bring back something i wrote back in this discussion??in another discussion in a different website????(??I train in the martial arts and??the martial arts are about understanding ones self and when you learn to understand yourself you learn to master yourself) I also initially said that that i wouldn't watch the rest of this series if zuko choose the dark side, though in the end of this chapter Zuko loooked away and regreted his own dission of helping Azula which means he has not fully come to??understand who he really is, So in conclusion what he chose was not his actual dission at heart it wasn't the choice he trully wanted to pick and in doing so he still has a choice in who he wants to be and what he wants to do......... so his choice of helping azula also foreshadows??(even greater)??his eventuall or possible turning to the side of peace.

I still say this was all a ploy by Iroh and Zuko. We don't know what happend between them when Azula left. And how did Iroh get out of the crystals? Iroh could've come up with this whole betrayal ploy to make sure they both survived.

This was not a set up, Iroh hanging his down when only Zuko was lookin at him and the whole crossroads of destiny talk wasn't so he could sound cool.

You should take a break from the martial arts and train in using punctuation. Trying to read that is giving me a headache, no offense intended.

good point. had zuko taken the aang/katara side, he would not have likely survived. remember, he knew the dai li was on azula's side, so i wouldn't be shocked if iroh and zuko were pulling a fast one on azula (the queen of fast ones)

Iroh was in the army. He knows how to be crafty if he wants to. I seriously think Zuko and Iroh are planning something. Someway of taking down Azula permenantly.

I don't think he would betray his uncle unless he REALLY ment it.

I think Azula will bring him home to Oazi, and Ozai will refuse to take his son back cause he really didn't capture the Avatar. Azula will argue on Zuko's sake and Oazi will burn her to.

In anger Zuko will break his uncle out of prison and try to escape, but go back for Azula.
Azula will refuse to go and fight Zuko for leaving, in which Zuko wil finnally use lightning and deafeat Azula. Iroh and Zuko will be fugitives AGAIN, until they meet the Gang and join in.

Since when would Azula argue on Zuko's behalf? She'd just leave him to get burned alone. Turn her back on him. And if Zuko walked into that again, I'd practically lose all respect for him.

It's hard to say since we've only seen in once and at full speed, but did anyone detect a hint of holding back from Zuko when he was fighting Aang and Katara?

I can only hope something along those lines happens... or that Zuko in some way takes the road to redemption... I cant believe he would truly pick the dark side... i think he'll have second thoughts... what if the fire lord sends azula a telegram that says zuko isn't welcome to come back to the firenation and that she is to take him out. what if he finds out and takes her out before she can take him out... OOooh OOH what if before she even hears from the fire lord, she starts to train zuko to become a master and he learns what she knows and is better able to take her down... idk... i'm just hoping that in anyway zuko turns out good!

I totally agree that this change is not permanent. As I said in the other board, here are my reasons:

Exhibit A: In the Earth King, one of the dreams Zuko has is with him suddenly having the arrow-head thingy Aang has. In terms of storyline that HAS to count for something!
Exhibit B: Zuko showed clear remorse toward his betrayal at the end of the episode. OK so that was more specifically remorse toward betraying Iroh, but knowing Zuko, these petty emotions are baby-steps toward eventually turning good.
Exhibit C: Again, in Earth King, Iroh speaks of Zuko undergoing a metamorphosis. What if that metamorphosis isn't finished yet?
Exhibit D: Even if all this alone doesn't prove Zuko will change, I suspect another plot device is at hand. Judging from Azula's expression at the end, I'd say she'll lead Zuko on toward the Fire Nation, but then turn on him and ship him to the FN as a prisoner. Then either Ozai will sentence Zuko to some form of punishment, Zuko will gain some perspective into his father's nature via the prisoners, or Iroh will somehow die at Ozai's and/or Azula's hands (REALLY hope this doesn't happen, but it's worth mentioning) thus causing Zuko to hate his father and make up his mind once and for all to fight his father's tyranny.

So no matter which way you cut it, it all points to one thing: Zuko WILL return from the dark side!

I see comments about how Zuko hung his head and was sad for 'betraying' his Uncle... and then I see comments about maybe this is all a plot...?? BUT

Last we saw Iroh he was telling Katara to get Aang away and he would "hold them off as long as he could".... so where is Iroh??? We see Azula and Zuko in the end but NO Iroh ... and no shot of Iroh in chains or anything... BUT

Zuko and Iroh did this before, remember the trickery in getting Zuko to the North Pole...?? did we not here Zuko say to Katara 'I have changed'... finally, in Bitter Work, Iroh told Zuko, 'you will be able to use lightning once you let go your pride' and then he said 'pride is your shame'.... so.... was Zuko holding back using lightning in the battle with Katara and Azula.. can he do it now but didn't do so because he (1) doesn't want Azula to know he can use it and (2) because he wasn't really trying to 'hurt' them, just convince Azula he was trying to do so....

can I just say this.... it can go either way and so far I'm not really sure I know the right path that Zuko took on his crossroad of destiny
