Someone brought up a good point. But I think the reason why these kids seem more powerful than their predecessors is b'cuz they sorta had to be. The situation called for them to be better than what the previous had to do. Katara had to master waterbending if she was going to help Aang at all, Zuko had to be better if he was going to capture the Avatar who was getting better and then later help defeat his father; Azula was pretty much a perfectionist, and Aang had the world's fate in his hand. Bumi, Pakku, and Iroh didn't have that heavy of a responsibility--the world wasn't in their hands. If this makes sense at all. |

Very good point! They are the main characters with a very big responsibility. So they writers had to make them strong.
