You know how I expect the Avatar movie to turn out?

    One word: Eragon

I don't want them messing up one of my favorite shows, but at the same time, the creators said that they'd consider making new seasons depending on how well the movies are received.

They said the movies would be 2 hours so we dont have to worry about getting as much cut out. And we've got some bigger names working on the film than Eragon.

I'm just worried that the film will try and sell out its fanbase in order to have a "wider appeal" to the general audience, which, of course, won't work, and will make us disappointed in it as well.

Since when has Shyamalan tried to appeal to a wider base?

There are Avatar fans all over the world. Its the number one kids show in some countries. There are plenty of fans to make it right and still be profitable.

Actually, you're right. He's never done that. I'm just hoping he stays true to the show.

Since when has Shyamalan made a good movie after Signs and The Sixth Sense?...thats what I would be worried about.

He's still a better director than whoever did Eragon and at least he takes risks. Hopefully he wont do anything to drastic with Avatar though.

We also got the cinematographer from the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Also, don't forget he's working with Mike and Bryan, they wont let him mess it up.

The thing about Shyamalan is, he's in a slump in his career, there's no doubt about that, but there's nothing to say that it will continue. He's got bryke to help him make the movies and a pretty acclaimed crew so far.

    I'm not worried.

Then again, I'm not too fussy when it comes to movies, it doesn't take much to entertain me.

the part I don't get is that he's done only suspense/horror movies, how is he going to do an action/adventure movie

the creators are helping write it....so it'll be fine....and also, they'll make it accurately correct if M. Night accidentally almost messes something up.....if he wants something from an episode
