okay i've been thinking and by now wouldn't everyone in the fire nation pretty much be thinking that zuko and katara are a couple, i mean there's the play and the finale battle with azula i think that pretty much any normal person living in the fire nation would think they are a couple

Aside from the fact that Zuko's romance with Mai not exactly what you'd call private. The only people who saw the play live on Ember Island, and there was no one witnessing the Agni Kai. By contrast, multiple servants were there to wait hand and foot on Zuko and Mai while they were making out. It probably didn't take long for word to spread.

I love zutara as much as the next zutara fan, but it was no secret that Zuko and Mai were together.

ember island is a sort of vacation spot for nobles and such so alot more then people who lived there would have seen it and told their friends about it ect so there would have been alot of people that know about it and although mai and zuko relation wasn't secret, that was before they broke up and i don't think servants go around telling the paperazi everything they see and as for the agni kai wouldn't alot of people have seen it since it was at the time azula was going to become fire lord and she had a huge audiance for that, and everyone was just a safe distance high up or something

    1. It would be hard to see from any farther away and
    2. I believe that shot was to show that no one was there, either because they were banished or they were afraid they would be.

And really I think the FN would just think Katara's a slut if anything.

Katara is simply a peasant in the Fire Nation's eyes.

I still say someone musta saw it you don't have a battle that epic on your doorstep and just ignore it, they are all out of sight cuz they don't want azula to banish them and as for katara being a peasant that didn't seem to matter to the play writer

The play writer was telling an accurate story of the Gaang's events, which did not include the Fire Nation's opinions.

that's my point they all thought it was acurate and katara was like about to strip and have sex with zuko in that prison (in the play) and she had no interest in aang so they would assume (especially after him taking the lightning for katara i don't care what you say someone had to have been watching form someonewhere, you don't ignore massive fire walls) that katara and him are a couple and i'm pretty sure i saw a few ppl near katara when azula shot the lightning

Well you can choose to believe that there was someone watching the Agni Kai, but the show didn't show anyone there at the time. And I think the people of the FN would choose to believe facts (Mai and Zuko) over a play; whether the play was true or not.

A lot more people knew than just them. Crowds of people gathered to see Zuko go to Mai's house during 309, Nightmares and Daydreams. They had to have assumed that they were dating.
