By kids for the kids?! Since when is Nick ran by kids? Since when did Nick ever cared about what kids want. SpongeBob is popular, but it gets a little old sometimes to see him 24/7/4/12/365.

Nick's actual motto should be "promoting educational failure for your kids since 1999" (that's when they started to show spongebob"

If Nick's official motto was true then I think they wouldn't have cancelled Danny Phantom considering how much effort people put in trying to get it back on the air. Plus even though I don't like Invader Zim apparently a lot of people do and that would still be on air. Fact is I don't think half the shows aired on Nick currently would be there if they actually listened to the kids as they claim. Your quote is true, but you forgot a part it should be

'air Spongebob as much as humanly possible and shun all other shows not involving the NBB and and a certain teenage girl who got herself pregnant'

Seriously they need to stop airing commercials for Zoey 101 and NBB. I'm sick of it. Although I think Zoey 101 finally is over. I don't know for sure.

But that's just it. Who was campaigning to bring back DP? Not kids, adults. Nick doesn't care about its older fanbase. That's why they canned IZ, kids were really freaked out by it, but older people loved it (it was brilliant IMHO).

Kiddies want teh sponge, so Nick provides them with teh sponge. Kiddies don't want deep, intelligent, well-written epic fantasy adventures with themes and character development, they want an anthropomorphic sponge that stopped being funny years ago. And so Nick provides them with it.

An Age of Empires style Avatar game would be so awesome. The best part about that idea is that it would actually work. You have four extremely different nations that could fit perfectly into the RTS format.

On Nick.com there's an Avatar game called 'Bobble Battles', it costs money, but check out the free trial. It's the closest we can get to the sheer epicness of an Avatar RTS.

HA really... you know i wouldn't be suprised if it was ran by (very young, very dumb) kids. it would explain some things(like spongebob being on all the time). And "for the kids" makes sense too. the fandom of avatar isn't kids, were teens/adults. thats why they don't do sh*t for us. so that slogan actually fits very well.

But kids like other shows. SpongeBob is a money-maker, but it isn't all around popular. I'm not refering to the fact that Avatar isn't on as much as I think it should, I'm refering to the fact that there are many other shows kids are interested in. It's alright if SpongeBob is on, I don't mind watching the show every once in a while, but enough is enough. There is a special every month about a wacky over done theme (Western? Prehistoric?). I'm pretty sure people who loved El Tigre are annoyed with never seeing their show on, and what happened to All Grown Up? And I'm pretty sure Martin Mystery had some fans also (I'm not even touching the true glory shows such as Invader Zim, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, or Danny Phatom). My goodness, play a different show for once! It's not really for kids, it actually for a specific fandom. And that fandom is definitatly shrinking.

And don't let me get started about the "for kids" part. We all know that is a lie. These people know what they are doing. They are trying to make as much money as possible. And if there is a shadow of a chance that a show might fail with kids, then they won't take any chances.

    /rant (for now)

It would be nice to have an Avatar role playing game. But I suck at all games possible (except Yoshi... I love Yoshi), so it doesn't really make a difference to me. Hand/eye coordination for the win! ^^

All Grown Up was definitely aimed at pre-teens and whatnot, but you're right about El Tigre. It's the first original 'classic' mask and tights superhero in years and Nick is neglecting it. I don't understand. First DP, now this, what does Nick have against superheroes?

calm down i wasn't actually being serious, i think the same as you. i was just trying to make the slogan fit them in some way but still make them look bad. "by the kids for the kids", I realize the slogan doesn't fit them.

You know I can't even remotely understand why kids think Spongebob is funny anymore. I think even if I was as young as those Spongebob fans are I'd even not want to watch it. Spongebob seems to be equivalent to an Nick Jr. show now. *Sigh* I guess it's too bad kids want mindless entertainment and that Nick only cares about that age group.

I love Spongebob. But even I'll admit that the new episodes are a disgrace. The first few seasons were very very good, but after a certain point it just stopped being funny. IMHO that's when it should've ended. It's always sad when a good show goes bad.

Maybe they just don't like how superheros draw older crowds then their intended kiddie age. Or maybe it's because heros represent everything Spongebob isn't especially the part with morals to the story. I never liked El Tigre, but I was surprised it got the ax so soon.

Did I actually sound like I was screaming at you? *retreats to corner* sorry. I'm just ranting outward at no particular person.

I was into Rugrats first because I could relate to the babies (I was a very mischevious child). I didn't get SpongeBob at first. I remember watching one of the first few episodes and asking my mother a lot of questions (such as "What does naive mean?"). But then, I'm insane, so I'm a special case.

im still for the Elder Scrolls: Avatar.

    THink about it!

An Age of Empires style Avatar game would be so awesome. The best part about that idea is that it would actually work. You have four extremely different nations that could fit perfectly into the RTS format.

On Nick.com there's an Avatar game called 'Bobble Battles', it costs money, but check out the free trial. It's the closest we can get to the sheer epicness of an Avatar RTS.

ok ill click on the icon of a chibi aang so itll say my trial has ended so i have to pay 7.00$

Yeah, don't actually buy the game. It's a decent game, but it lags like hell. It makes enjoying the game pretty much impossible.

By kids for the kids?! Since when is Nick ran by kids? Since when did Nick ever cared about what kids want. SpongeBob is popular, but it gets a little old sometimes to see him 24/7/4/12/365.
/rant (for now) It would be nice to have an Avatar role playing game. But I suck at all games possible (except Yoshi... I love Yoshi), so it doesn't really make a difference to me. Hand/eye coordination for the win! ^^
calm down i wasn't actually being serious, i think the same as you. i was just trying to make the slogan fit them in some way but still make them look bad. "by the kids for the kids", I realize the slogan doesn't fit them.

But then, I'm insane, so I'm a special case.

no, don't worry about it i also used to watch the rugrats when i was very young. i liked phil and lil the best

Didn't any kids or teenagers help campaign? Most adults still consider teenagers kids anyway. If Invader Zim scared everyone so much I wonder why Nick put it on air. You know I can't even remotely understand why kids think Spongebob is funny anymore. I think even if I was as young as those S fans are I'd even not want to watch it. Spongebob seems to be equivalent to an Nick Jr. show now. *Sigh* I guess it's too bad kids want mindless entertainment and that Nick only cares about that age group.

I acually know quite a lot of teenagers at my school at love SpongBob.
I love Spongebob. But even I'll admit that the new episodes are a disgrace. The first few seasons were very very good, but after a certain point it just stopped being funny. IMHO that's when it should've ended. It's always sad when a good show goes bad.

I think that point was the movie and everything after especially after the creator left. Now Nickelodeon can make Spongebob into anything they want while continually slander what Spongebob used to be like. You know funny?

AllKnowingBeing do these teenagers watch the new episodes?

The movie. That was probably it. The movie was great. Lol at David Hasselhof. But yeah, after that it really went downhill.

The only time you see the words "Nick" and "Cool" being used in a sentence is when you see "isn't" between them.

After the first few seasons and the movie, there was nothing really left to do with SpongeBob, but kids demanded more. So yeah, this is how it ended up.

I hated how SpongeBob's voice is now higher. My reaction: "Ewww! Why is his voice so high?"

(and wow, how did we get so far off-topic)
