Yeah, especially since most of the episodes on the poll are good. Cave Of Two Lovers is THE WORST episode in the show. The sappy romance SUCKED and they just need to stick with story and action.

Imprisioned was a good and important episode. I think it was not actually meant to be about Haru, rather the episodes focus was to develop Katara's character and introduce the necklace subplot. This was the first episode that developed Kataras character after the premire. The Southern Air Temple and Omashu episodes were about Aang and the Warriors of Kyoshi focused on Sokka.

I have to disagree with your statement! The Cave of Two Lovers was a very important episode. Several themes were introduced at the beginning of season 2 and Aang's attraction to Katara was one of the themes that they introduced. This theme played a CRUCIAL role in the season finale when Aang had to let go of Katara. Sure the romance was mostly immature and poorly acted but was needed just as much as the other themes of season 2.

Sorry for the double post but I had to say something about this

Though I voted for The Great Divide, I really thought the Cave of Two Lovers was pretty boring, along with The Swamp and Bato of the Water Tribe. I dunno why I didn't like that episode though, it did have good plot. And I loved the episode Jet because it introduced one of the best characters. Don't know why they killed him though

"The Great Divide" nearly made me NEVER watch Avatar again, as it was the first episode I ever saw. How weak was it? You could remove "The Great Divide" from the story completely and not miss a single part of the story. The same could not be said for other "weak" episodes like "Imprisoned" and "Tales of Ba Sing Se" because at the end of both there was a key twist/reveal that effected the plot (Katara losing her necklace and Appa's footprint). And seriously why is "Jet" even on that poll? That episode was one of the best animated and had a pretty decent story.

    Edit:

I think that Appa's Lost Days was the worst. There should have been an "other" option.

    EDIT:
    I Third

If I had saw that eisode after that horrible trailer for the premiere of Avatar I would've given up on it completely. Why oh why did they make that episode? I can't even see any of those characters making an appearance in future episodes. Ugh.

I know you can only put a??select number of choices on a poll but I didn't really enjoy 'The Northern Air Temple' with all the flying machines and the desecration of the temple to build a bath house. It so bummed me out.

I agree that was slow moving. As bad as these episodes were, the writers have made up for it so it doesn't bother me. We get the Tles of BSS and Appa's Lost Days, but then we get LL, TEK, TG, and COD so I mean...it levels it out to be more good episodes by a longshot. (No pun intended for LL and Longshot. )

Whoa, I can't believe that great divide is winning by such a large margin, I though tales of BSS would have a lot more than that. I thought great divide was alright, not the best mind you, but still pretty good. Tales of BSS was just a huge diddapaointment form me, I didn't like the whole fromat of the epsiode, and also some people said that there is a lot of character development in it, but I in my opinion there is hardly any character development in it. A lot of the "Tales" just seemed like a rip off from from other poorly made cartoons.

Good point and I agree. The only episode I can 'yawn'??at is 'The Northern Air Temple.' Every single other episode of Avatar I thoroughly adore. So I don't think??one??out of two seasons is bad at all. LOL

I think a lot of people were put off by the format of the 'Tales of Ba Sing Se' but I think because it??was also Mako's tribute??episode it warmed the hearts of many eventually. Plus we get to see Zuko kiss Jin and light the fountain lanterns??which is well??something?? rather unique to the overall storyline and again lends??itself to his eventual spiritual crisis to come.

I think the issue with "The Great Divide" episode was the script... it seemed to me too flat and childish. Dialogues and character reactions makes you want to slap in your forehead all the time... I know this show is targeted to boys and girls between 9-14 years old - but after watching drama in such great episodes like season finales, or "Blind Bandit" you can forget about it and just enjoy.
"The Great Divide" just reminds its one of the shows for kids and we obviously, already, after comparing to other episodes expect more than just that

It's just my point of view and I'm much older than average audience this show is for.

    you pretty much summerized it..

I voted for "The Great Divide," though if "Appa's Lost Days" had been an option on the poll it really would have been a toss up between the two. At least in "Appa's Lost Days" though there are important clues as to what's to come: Azula and her friends ambushing Suki and the other Kyoshi warriors, Long Feng imprisoning Appa, introducing the Guru, and Appa's now found fear of fire (sure to come into play in later episodes, especially since Aang will need to lear firebending and they will need to enter the fire nation once again). So overall, while boring, it was a very important episode.

"The Great Divide," on the other had, was also boring AND didn't do anything for the story. Sure, it put pressure on Aang on what it means to be the avatar and put emphisis on his role as the avatar, but it still did nothing. They could have done it much better than they did and at least put something in that advances the story like in "Appa's Lost Days."
