Avatar: The Last Airbender: Will Toph's parents ever accept her?

Zuko isn't the only one with parent issue's, don't forget about Toph and her parents. Will they every accept her, and approve of her helping the Avatar?
A way for that to happen, is for the Fire Nation to invade their home, and for the gang to save Toph's parents, and maybe they will accept Toph.

If you don't accept your daughter for doing the right thing your a monster (Like Ozai) I think her parents love her and just want whats best for her.

I never said they didn't love her. Having a parents love, and having a parents approval, are two different thing.

Her father....he watched her take on a team of etremely skilled earthbanders with no problem at all, and still reused to even let her outside the castle. Hmm, I don't think Toph's the blind one in the family.

It doesn't matter they love her! I mean it's just protection and think if Toph is that good she'll most likely be targeted. Anyway Toph did worst she ran from her home lied to Aang so really it makes Aang look like a crinamal because of her.

This is a good topic to discuss! Toph hasn't said much about her parents since she left them. Though they haven't explored her feelings that much after the Blind Bandit episode, the first remark was when she got the letter from her "mother". It seems that she does indeed care that her parents accept her considering her reaction when she found out what the letter said. Toph is very young and has been without parents for a while and even though she doesn't talk about them it seems she does indeed care about them. I'm glad you brought this topic up!

Toph was never ment for a life of excitment and fighting but that is all that is wants to do, that is why Toph's parents will never accept her

Either way??I don't think the issue between Toph and her parents are over. We will see her parents again by the end of Book 3.
Maybe Azula and the Fire Nation??will kidnap them? And they get butts saved by their helpless blind daughter.

They better accept her back or I'll kick their ass. or Toph could do that for me. Anyway they should love her and accept her back but if they don't...they're just COMPLETELY heartless.

In Tales Of Ba Sing Se, when Toph says she is not looking for anyone's approval. She sheds a tear. She probably was thinking about her parents. While I believe Toph is telling the truth, that she is not looking for anyone's approval, (unlike Zuko, who is obcessed with getting acceptance from his dad) her parents non acceptance, does hurt her.

Well she is twelve of course she will want her parents approvel but it going to be very hard for her to??get that.

if they do or if they dont, toph doesnt need them but maybe she does because she was so excited when she thought her mom wrote the letter.
